We don't actually know who is Zane or not - it could be that Ocean will change the names of Ayua or Katie to fit the new reality, because we don't know if Katie Zane in SG is a Zane because she's Helen's daughter or what anymore.

This is why I am impatient for WiaB's update, because it will let us know where the whole series is heading.

The point is that by the time SG begins we get Bella in one piece, arrogant and sassy as we like. Otherwise Ceril would have probably broken her at the school.

Ocean is retconning devlogs now, truly nothing is real. I will have good faith and say he is just being extra careful, but this puzzles to no end.

Hopefully nothing this bad. I don't worry much about the delay, life happens, just that for as long as I follow they are not common. Am trying to spin it into a good light.

It is of course better to wait and see what the changes are. Merely deleting a line can be something misspoken or deciding to keep something private.

As long as certain love stories feel more natural and they solve that same issue in season 2 that we know nothing about, we still get the "same same but different" result right? After all, with that line deleted, the goals are still stated as the same. And maybe more importantly, we know Ocean was considering that situation it for long enough and seriously enough to put in a devlog, even if retracted. He didn't wake up on devlog day and decide to write that statement in a drug haze

His answer was more or less your suspicion from just now. He fears that someone could come after him through old devlogs, looks like that SS is not the safe harbour for this kind of stuff as we all have thought.

Ocean biggest goal for the future is to achieve as much independence as possible from Patreon/SS.

MY personal opinion is, as soon Ocean have reached this goal he can be more or less open speak and write about this kind of stuff.

Not totally independent, no. But it is comfortable, if the numbers go with you, you can move on platforms with more back that will, at least, support you if the conditions allow it.
Only fans, Steam, Fansly... places where the volume of business still allows certain things that Patreon does not.
Or in the most extreme case, your own marketer, such as Fresh Women or Perverteer... taking pay pal out of the equation.

During the patreon ban crisis, Ocean had told me that SS had subtly changed his ToS and that he believed that this vagueness was only so that they could in the future act like Patreon if the payment processors rebelled. It seems that his suspicions became more true in the times that followed.

Well, if Visa/Mastercard have your balls you re screwed, not denying this.

Oceans hope is that he can get more independency through steam. Until now, steam gives a fuck about IC or other stuff, at least it looks like that they don't care. No one can be sure about this for the future. Steam can be a money print machine, I wish to Ocean that he gets a big piece of the cake and work on the games/storys he want to tell - and have not no bend over for some prude asshole from a CC company.
