Might not know who he was beating up or messing with or whatever the case is. Mysteries love those reveals, and Ocean loves red herrings and reveals. So I'm most likely wrong, but the idea that there is a complex chain of events that set of at the beginning is most likely true. The antagonist is so far either a citywide gang or a national cult who are personally targeting the Zanes. It's going to have all kinds of angles.
Cult, gangs, corrupt officials, maybe more and they are tied in some way it seems. Wollust has a big underbelly in WIAB compared to SG. The Zanes and their allies will need to get some control of things so in 22-23 years(however old Maja is)emo boy can brood in peace.

Well, we saw Emilio in SG, and we have illegal races. The difference is Nika is unaware of these elements because he's a recluse. I think a fun part of SG for us WiaB players will be seeing NIka realise things we already know.
I agree, the rework has consolidated the essence of things well, and expanded on others, making it more engaging to me. The raccoon in the clothing store in the old version, not so engaging.
In the old version it wasn't even that - Leia and Willi still hadn't done anything other than kiss and make out, and Willi ran away over that. I don't think Ocean will give such a lame reason for the setup this time, it will be serious, and it might be the blackmail again (except patreon is against blackmail, so... it's a good thing this isn't on patreon I guess).
I'm not one to defend SG (that minor product that has its own thread for things like "defending" it), but, you have to keep in mind that WIAB is SG's world, so anything that is put together in WIAB can (in principle) be the same in SG's basement.
