I would love to but I'd also have to be a lurker. Don't think I'd last long if I gave my honest input even in the kindest way I know how.

So what's the point? I already avoid the sub because I hate reddit users with a passion. This is the only space I know that's enjoyable when it comes to AVN discussion.
Don't assume, just join. There are many who say thinks to Oceans face in the discord and don't get banned.

What's hilarious is a contrarian trying to sell a product, ignoring constructive feedback as to how your story makes little to no sense. I can see that working out...
Constructive feedback can be safely ignored. In fact, the best thing a developer can do with it is to ignore it. This has been proven many times by many devs.
I don't know how much surrounding himself with people who only say yes can help him.
People on his discord say whatever they want, as long as they respect the server rules. If you're going to discuss whether Nami and Nika's mom was a redhead, you'll probably get kicked out. This is the cause for most of the problems and conflicts in Discord - people don't bother to read the rules, they don't even bother to assume that there are any rules at all and that they are in the "rules" channel.

But overall, yes, this is his personal space, and you're going to visit it and be his guest. If you're going to spread the Burning Truth and prove to everyone there that they're idiots who can't be cured, you'll probably get kicked out too. Just like in real life, actually. :KEK:

Maybe we should say we all hate the original direction of the game, short wait times between updates and games with lewd scenes, maybe then we'll get somewhere in this story.
With a disposition like this Ocean is currently sailing in the waters of Saint Gumdrop, patron of the milker Devs everywhere, just with prettier pictures! It is one thing to disregard the guys who always send critic, it is another to disregard constructive critic from yearlong fans. I defended Ocean a lot in the last 7 years, but the new WIAB update and some design decisions earlier are simply rubbish, plain and simple.
I am rather convinced now reading this that WIAB´s days are numbered.. As I theorised earlier I think Ocean wants to have an excuse for himself to shelf WIAB for good.

When the feedback points out your reworks have made the story disjointed and void of any logic and your response is "I'm gonna do it even harder!", it's kinda counterintuitive if your selling a novel.

People want a coherent story with adult themes, if they only wanted sex with shallow plot there is mainstream porn.

Ocean's case is a little more complicated since he's trying to sell a product, and yes, I'd be the first to say, make the story you want to make, trying to compromise as little as possible. But now we know 99.9% that this is no longer the story Ocean wanted, so we might as well try to achieve maximum success.

That's a great point. "People not liking something makes me want to do it more" isn't artistic vision, it's just being snarky. It's also a horrible "hey you should join his discord" pitch because all I'm going to get in there is higher blood pressure.

How much of this is Ocean compromising, how much of this is Ocean's "I'll make someone mad with this," and how much is what he actually wanted in the first place?

Constructive feedback here is just a way for resident "customers" (yeah, I heard here as one dude called himself that, no jokes) to push a dev to cater their preferences and fetishes. You say the story is disjointed, I say it was disjointed and now it started make some sense. So what now, what a dev should do, follow the course, as I want, or rework the story to please you?

If Ocean would listen feedback about the rework his games would never made it to the Steam.
Actually, it's funny to talk about sales here, but I won't continue in this thread as it's obvious off-topic
People want a coherent story with adult themes, if they only wanted sex with shallow plot there is mainstream porn.
People want a coherent story but with a lot of lewds, monogamous romance but in a harem, they want them big boobs but it makes them barf. Who cares what they want? A great writer evolves his audience expectations. A good writer can create a story that makes people suspend their disbeliefs and engage into it even if they say, "Fuck, that's not real." If you want realism, become a firefighter. Wasn't Hollywood called the Dream Factory? :KEK:

In other words they say what they want as long as it not the opposite opinion of ocean and as long as it is not criticism.... got it

For some reason which I don't understand, you think that your opinion is valuable to others, and they want to hear it. And if they don't want to, then they should still listen to you. Let me give you some advice - in life, everything is not like that. Nobody gives a shit about you except your friends and loved ones. And if you want to be a member of a certain community, then you will have to accept the rules adopted by this community and follow them. And I will not continue further, because in the f95 community, game threads are not for off-topic, but for discussing the game.

What about the best girl in WiAB? Zoey, right?

... and a bad writer changes the original story into a convoluted mess to appease a platform that already tossed him from their site.

Now we are left with a story where a man runs back to the people who orphaned him after 7 years of self-imposed exile, all because the woman who not only was instrumental in him being orphaned and also abandoned him after he was imprisoned, got hurt in an accident. Now he has to be judged by the families, where his biggest fear is... exile.

The story is a joke and to pretend otherwise is laughable.

Probably. I don't follow such a writers.

Yep. Works like a charm. Much better than cest.
The story is a joke and to pretend otherwise is laughable.
The story is great and I'm looking forward to the next SG release to see the aftermath of some of the events in WiAB 20 years later.

I mean, someone can like this story and it's okay, but if someone is defending this story saying it makes sense, it's not an opinion anymore, you just can't see facts.

It's like a movie; can you like a Steven Seagal's direct-to-DVD movie? Yes you can.

Can you say that the story is great and make sense? No, because the story has a million plot holes and nothing make sense because the main thing about these movies are just for seeing him kick asses.

Same thing with this one; you can think that the new WiaB story is fun and you love it, that's your opinion, your taste and it's okay. But, saying the story is great and make sense now is laughable because the fact is there and the fact is that, the story isn't great and doesn't make sense at all.

So all those of us who said it had the same inconsistencies before didn't see the facts and couldn't have an opinion?
Sure, I think I understand the difference, having never said that this game sucks, with incest or now, then it's not an opinion, it's the vision of a blinded fanatic. (y)
