Before Leia, Joe was saving up for Kat's uni with the drug lab, and with the nightclub. Leia was looking after it while he was imprisoned. THey all knew about the gun caches. Do you think Scarlet was defending her husband, or was it more like, 'well he poked his head up too much'.

It was all there. Katie was innocent of this stuff before, but then, she knew about Asavera, and what Leia was doing, and they all knew about Joe. Joe wasn't hiding much from the Zanes in Ch1-3, really. One of the things about the OG that was great, is we didn't know who to trust, who knew what. Since Ch4, that's changed, and now it's all outlined.

Yes it's a different plot, but the criminal elements were always through there, and I was always keen to discover what was going on behind the scenes.

This is my point. The scale has changed, the family has changed. The criminal aspects have been ramped up. Leia was not the only crim before Ch4.

What blows my mind is that everyone here thinks legal law abiding people go to the farm to check out their secret drug labs.

Scarlet, Dylan and Helen knew all about it before the rework. They also knew where Leia got the club from. Those two things are still the same. Gina's issues are still the same. verything has now being tied up in a big 'organised crime' bow rather than 'entrepreneur'. In old old Ch6, we were still trying to find out why the crazy secret criminal organisation was targeting Helen, and it seems she went undercover walking the streets with someone? Forgotten the exact details, and it's irrelevant. Crime has always been a central part. Now it's the main (and almost only) part.



For what I'm talking about, I'm referencing what happened in Ch1-3 before Ch4 came out in case it's not clear. Some early dialogues were changed/expanded in Ch1-3 with the Ch4 release.

I agree with you, Bob. I didn't play much of it in the old work. I have so many games that I bounce around from one to the other, sometimes not playing one for over 6 months. I didn't get into this one until really after this re-work was done. Then I bought it on Steam, played through the game this time to the end of the latest update.
My point was that it doesn't make since some of these people are trying to say that the family just now started into the crime world. Or, that's how they read to me. It makes much better since that they've always been in it. And I don't mean just a lowly bikers. I, for one, like the way it is working out now. Don't make their criminal lives just an afterthought or something to be reviled later on. I like that Ocean made it a central part of the plot. It gives credence to why they are being targeted. Some rival group trying to take them out and take over their territory makes much more sense to me.

In the current situation, Leia is no longer the despicable being she used to be. Today, Helen and Scar are more suspicious, with a game that we can't even scratch the surface of yet.
Leia went from being the worst of the worst to the most transparent character in the game, which earns her points in my book.
Within this new chess game that the story has become, Leia has shown her cards without hiding anything she wants or how she plans to get it.

As players, we know much more about Leia than about any other character in the game, including William.
As for William and his knowledge, he knows much more about Leia than he does about Helen and Scar, and I would even say that he knows more than Miru. But with that piece of information he dropped about Miru, he may know a little more about her, just a little.

Look, I get that it has changed, that is not the point. You literally said Leia was the only criminal. Willi admittd to doing things as a juvenile that weren't legal. Joe's whole backstory is the foundation of pretty much everything illegal that Leia's doing, and it went on for years with it paying for Joe and Scarlet's household. THere is no way his wife and kids didn't question the money or the guns (that all the kids knew about). Miru had an illegal background. Gina want to do illegal things because the law isn't helping her.

All of this and more existed befor Ch4. Yes, Ch4 retconned it, just like Ch1-3 took what OCean wanted of the OG 1-6 - but that doesn't mean it was a bunch of sunshine before. Crime has always been a significant part of the story, and now it's expanded. Leia wasn't the only one with criminal tendencies, Scarlet didn't just wake up to Joe's sidehustle nightclub, Willi's suspicions mean he's thought of Scarlet being complicit longer than he's been back.

It's also the difference between a whodunnit and an action flick. Before it was undercurrents and hidden motives "do you trust Dylan?", now it's pretty much all out in the open.

I never said that Gina was criminal, but that she want to look at options that aren't legal to deal with Krayt, because it's a Wollust thing. It's a place where the police watch a woman beat up a man in the car park then blame the man. They couldn't solve crime if it was their job.

Well almost all characters are criminal tho. Even our lovely Miru is killer by nature.

I know, that was my point. It has no barring on my like or dislike of her character. It's actually completely irrelevant in general to someone like me. Unless she fucks around and messes with one of my LIs, I could care less about the people she's fucking over out there. That's their problem. Yes, I'm selfish like that.

The only thing I don't agree with is that Monica forgave him.

That's fine. My reasons mostly come from her behavior and how she shifts as the story progressed. Even in their first interaction, her mask slipped a bit when she showed concern about what happened to him. Only to pull it back up immediately when she realized what she was doing. She then later tries to treat him coldly and ignore his comments. This is up until the bar where she flat out tells him she's not interested in talking to him. Only to actually dial it back when he pointed out that if what happened is irrelevant and in the past, she should forgive him already. And guess what Monica does next? She starts engaging in a conversation with him. Not even getting offended when he joked about sleeping with her again. Something that supposedly traumatized her a bit.

Now, I will acknowledge that the alcohol could've attributed to some of the things in the bar. Since she was drinking. But chances are, she forgave him after that moment. That also doesn't make them friends or anything, by the way. I'm sure we'll have to work on that going forward. Luckily, or unluckily depending on the pov, we're her new neighbor. I would imagine that we'll see her ease up a lot going forward. Sucks for Benny boy though. He's the real unlucky one here for curving her for too long in bed (you learn this about Mon in the theater, if you ignore Miru) and doing again in this Ch 4. Actually wait a minute, wasn't it mentioned he had a crush on Dana in the past? Nah, I take back everything. It sucks to suck Benny boy.
