You switched from this specific "game was remastered for Steam due to Patreon's increasingly draconian rules" to "many devs are abandoning Patreon for all sorts of reasons" in an effort to not have to prove your misinformation. If you can provide evidence that CheekyGimp said he did the remaster due to Patreon rules, I'll retract.

In Cheeky's very first Patreon post on the remaster from Feb 16, 2023, he basically said they want to get on Steam to make additional income and they need to do the remaster to ensure the Steam release is successful.

So, the current plan is to increase the audience/income for WTHI by releasing on Steam. If all goes to plan, the extra income from Steam will give me more financial wiggle-room to take more unpaid time-off from work to focus on WTHI.

In order to get onto steam, we have to re-do the earlier episodes, because they are just not up to scratch.

As far as I undertsand it the game has been remastered for Steam because of Patreons increasingly draconian rules.
If a developer is starting to lose money because of those rules they have little incentive to continue, so Steam is a lifeline for them.
The fact that it's here on F95, a pirate site, and free to play is because people upload it here.
I haven't personally seen it on any other game site.

Per CheekyGimp I am waiting until January, before attempting to give an estimate for when Episode 25 will be complete. At that stage we'll have had a few weeks dedicated / uninterrupted work under our belt, so I'll have a better idea of how long the whole thing will take. (Hint, it WILL be in 2025 )

Yes, but I cannot see it happening without a time skip. Heck, Jolina hasn't even met Katie and friends. They only have a tenuous connection at best, no way Katie would share with her without major relationship development that probably should have already started.

edit to add: Yes, Jenna will surely work her magic (i.e., Katie can invite her friends, why can't she), and if Katie is on Jo's coffee shop flyers and/or MC mentioned he was dating Jolina when hiding that he was with Jenna during an earlier conversation with Katie, then these two have a 'connection' of sorts. But, my point remains, even if all the girls meet up at the beach house and get drunk again, I would think Katie would say no to Jolina as she currently is presented. Perhaps if Katie + Jenna get some further developments in scenes together, then maybe ...

Been meaning to try this game out but im confused, which version should i go for here? The Season 1 one seems to be the rework maybe but seems to have less content while the 24 episodes one seems to be bigger looking at the file size but dev states this version has less scenes etc than the Season 1 version.
