No, that one is fairly obvious :) Jenna and Jo seems good aswell ;) Gonna be fun finding out what others there are...
Ironically enough I shut down Jo since I didn’t want to risk things with Jenna. Now I’m wondering if it’s too late to reverse that. I was still salty the way she went off on the MC when asked out, so it was easy at the time to reject her.

I agree... I don't care if Jenna likes her, I wanted nothing to do with her and was annoyed that the game ended if I didn't want to date her. It is my number one complaint with the game... Forcing the player to pursue a character, that shouldn't happen, there should have been a better way to get the information the player needed. That entire situation irritated me and I hold that against Jolina.

Yeah I hate when certain games are put on ‘rails’ where if you don’t progress with certain love interests, that’s it. I specifically ran into that with Fetish Locator. Hated being forced to pursue a relationship with Lydia, nothing about her character was appealing to me.

I’m only mildly interested in Jolina, moreso just to check out the extra lewd content. Objectively speaking, she is pretty hot, but something about her, the way she comes across (maybe her personality) just annoys me.

As far as finding the right combo of characters willing and to be in an open relationship, I wonder if Elaine and Bella have a combo they might be ok with. Clearly they’re both jealous of each other with the MC, so I’m not sure they are the sharing type. I do like them both individually, and it would save time not to have to restart the game and play their routes solo.

There's nothing wrong with shutting down Jo if you didn't like her. That's the whole point of the game, to pursue the ones you like, the not pursue the ones you don't like.

I just hope in game #2 you don’t force people to go on dates with characters to move the plot forward, there are other ways to accomplish that goal. And having a game over for not wanting to date a character in a romance game seems counterintuitive.
And, I could be wrong, but the information the MC received from going on that date (besides dogboy) wasn’t useful. Perhaps it’s just me thinking it would be nice to have interactions that are just friendly and not dating...

The date with Jolina showed that Jenna is spying on them, and she enjoys creeping on people. She watched them have sex, and that seemingly opens a potential Jenna + Jolina path.

A "date" doesn't need to be romantic, or about actually have a relationship with a character. A date can be a lot of different things. A "dinner date" is a common thing friends and co-workers do for example.

In the last update, you went on a "date" with Monica, or just hung out as friends. There are a lot of instances like that in this game.

Yes, but those are usually with people the MC has an established relationship with and has chosen not to pursue as a romantic partner. Jo is an entirely new person that the MC has an unpleasant first experience with that Jenna (as the proxy for the developer) forces you to go on a date with or the game ends. The player as the MC can even say that Jo isn’t his type at all and it doesn’t matter, it is a requirement that you go on a date with her in order to forward the plot.
To me that seems clumsy, why even give the player a choice when disagreeing would prematurely end the game? Best to have the MC agree with Jenna and then give the player a choice as to whether they sleep with Jo or not.

Jo was an entirely new person, but as you can see from the way things have developed, an important one to the plot. Same with Elaine even though she showed up later. You are right about it being simpler to just have had the player agree with Jenna then a faux choice (which we abhor and try to avoid), but sometimes that's a growing pain with non-professional writers/game designers. :) Cheeky started this way back with no experience and learned everything on the fly.

I'm salty we are forced to ask her out in first place or even tell Jenna about email.

I don't think it's all that bad for a protagonist to automatically accept a single date with someone in a VN about dating girls. I think it starts to become a problem when the player has no input in how the date goes or how their avatar felt about it. If the game is devoted primarily to a single main LI, or if the game is purely linear, well, at least the situation should be clear early on: either that's the player's cup of tea or not.

But if the if the game is supposed to be about picking a path with various girls (or guys!), that's when I think we need some real control over how our MC proceeds once the potential LI has established her availability. For the most part I think this game does that perfectly well. Zarah comes on a little too strong even after being told no multiple times, though that does fit her character. And I would suggest auto-accepting plot vital dates rather than giving an instant game over "option."

That or make the game over more of an event, a la the old Sierra death messages.
