I don't know if anyone mention this already or should I even re
port it here but I think the dialogue between MC and Olivia in front of the girls' school before Olivia try to blackmail Maddie to invite her to meet MC is I guess leaked from one path to another since it mentioned Olivia catched MC doing something with Kelly at the corridor (which I guess it happens in the lust path) but my MC is on the love path and never interact with Olivia again aside from their first interaction scene so it kinda confusing.
This one has me a bit baffled. The way I have the variables set up for that scene in front of the school is that the only way you get the extra dialogue about
how Olivia and Lian caught you in the hallway with Kelly - is if you were already on Olivia's path. And the only way to get on Olivia's path (before this new scene) was to be on the Lust route with Kelly and have that scene in the hallway (You then had to choose to look at Olivia's panties to set her lewd path) Unfortunately, I didn't set a flag back in that original hallway scene so I had to use another way of determining if you saw that scene or not. The only thing I can think of is that you may have played through the scene, then on a roll-back the variable was still set as True. I'll have to test this when I start work on it again. I've learned a lot on making Whoremonger, and one of the harshest lessons I learned was to plan my paths and forks much better next time. I had this elaborate vision in my mind when I first started making this VN, but it soon turned into a nightmare to keep true to the paths I made. For example, on some of the scenes in this Act 2, I had to make four different versions of things, just to keep consistent with previous paths and forks. Thankfully, I learned my lesson and I am starting to mold those paths into something a little more coherent.
Checked out the update. There were some things I liked, some I didn't, but nothing worthy of getting too into it. I can say for sure that I really liked the stripclub scene with MC and cute redhead girlfriend (at least in my playthrough I try to be loyal). And also liked the phone suggestion that they should repeat that soon with some other people involved, hope it delivers next update!
Selfishly I quite dislike the "developing 2 games at same time" strategy, maybe because I have bad experience with it in other projects. But I understand it as well as creative mind and if developer feels that it's needed all I can say is good luck!
Maybe I should check out the other game even tho I glimpsed it over and didn't feel right up my alley, but as some people mention there are crossover characters so that could be fun. I wonder tho, does it at all mess with my save if, for example, I start Dark Horse game now and name a character different name who was already met in this game? Or does it blend seemlessly and after I try Dark Horse game and load older save the name will automatically be changed if I have both games tried out?
1. The working on two games is for my own sanity. If I was just doing the one, I would come to hate it and the quality would suffer a lot. After two months of 8-10 hour days working on a project, the burn out is very real. But when I shift gears and start back on the other project, it's like a breath of fresh air. It's a process that is so far working for me, but I am sure it will evolve over time.
2. The crossover feature just saves the names you made for the core characters and it's only saved in a separate file file in your Renpy AppData folder in a sub-folder called "persistent". It won't touch the original save files.
Also, if you haven't played both VN's, then it will just load the defaults I made for the story you haven't played. Someone above raised a point though, that I didn't consider... a lot of people name their MC's and other core characters the same in each game. So I need a way to deal with that. I think the easiest way is going to be to just put a change name option on each character's bio page. It's something I wanted to add for a while now anyhow.
