Getting back to the original question, despite my earlier snarkier comments, I think one reason this game is so popular is because the MC isn't a total douche. He seems to actually like his mom and his sisters. The early versions of the game allow the MC to pursue Ashley, who is friendly and naive but also interested in sex, and the MC has a "wow, I can't believe this is happening, but it's hot!" reaction. With Veronica later on, he stumbles onto the information that she likes to be dominated, and he has a "Well, I'm not sure if that's my thing, but if she likes to be dominated, let's give it try" without being an abusive dick about it. With the mom, there's actual seduction going on! (yes, he uses some wine, but that's a pretty acceptable seduction tool without getting rapey).
And that's my main point: Why is this game popular? Because the MC needs to seduce girls needing seduction, romance girls needing romance, dominate girls needing domination. None of the female NPCs are needlessly dumb or whorish. And (outside of the male tokens in the work mini-games), there's not a single other male character in the game to interfere. Everyone wins! <-- And that's why it's popular, even if it's not your thing.

This explains it extremely well actually lol. I couldnt even think of why I enjoy it more than many other games on here.
Only reason I might tack on and really you already said it just with more words lol.
The story is just well done. It doesnt feel like a drag (for the most part) and it keeps you wanting to progress and actually feeling rewarded when you do manage to progress.

If you have the time to post "This sucks!" then you should have the time to explain why. Not debating whether the animation is good or bad (I agree it could use some work), but about twarning in the thread..I do hope you didn't go in and post in the same mentality you posted this, if so it's easy to see why you were warned and a post deleted. Do you call people "cuck" in real life, for example? if so then good for you, otherwise, post providing reasons why the animation is poor in your view, and more importantly, how to make it better. Be specific.

Ok, my reasons why is so popular are almost all already listed here through the thread, but i'll list my top 10 anyway (i could write some more though):
1 Good renders (not super extraordinary btw).
2 Taboo sex (incest in this case).
3 Strong (and even improving every now and then) UI, mechanics, making u really enjoy the gameplay. Good and fun side stuff to do and getting new stuff regularly (even if we need more side stuff, like I already said in the thread and to him personally).
4 No NTR whatsoever.
5 Male protagonist has no Eric to cut his wings.
6 Regular 2 monthly updates (never missed a deadline since I play!) and mostly free of cut progressing bugs (and when there is one, the dev quickly provides a patch, at least I remember the one time that happened since I play).
7 Even if its annoying the amount of post the thread has, people there are super nice and amicable (Carlos S and RWaites mostly, but u could say they spreaded that simpaty to almost everyone who post in there if u take ur time to read and u find alot more people helping in part cause of that). Also they can answer 500 times the same shit all over again without insulting anyone for asking, like in many other threads other users do.
8 Because point 7, the thread is virtually free of idiots who thinks they know it all, demanding spoiled brats complaining all the time for "their" content or serial complainers. Yes, there is a ton of nonrelated posts in there, but I cant be the only one who prefers that instead of these people.
9 Appealing story. MC is straight forward on what he wants, u feel females are not really "forced" to do anything, like fauxplayer said in post 43, there are needs to be fulfilled there.
10 And the most important to me for last, the dev. Hes not a god like somepeople are saying here (at least for me, surelly is not and Im not a fanboy, hoping that I'll never become one), hes just a polite human being whos always around and take in account the praise but also the critics. Whoever say he doesnt addres the critics is plain wrong and the changes in the game since the begining are there to prove it. I like this guy and I never met him, u tell me how u achieve that without being Carlos S (the nicest guy ever, man)...

i've never understood the grind complaint when it comes to games, every game is a grind, from battleships minesweeper chess farcry neverwinter nights skyrim euro truck sim MoTH
keep calling numbers till you sink a ship, keep hitting squares, keep moving pieces, keep shooting people, keep hacking slashing, keep killing dragons, keep dropping off goods, keep earning money corrupting people.
It's how games work, you put in time and effort and are rewarded with guns, swords, levels, skills or in this case nudes.
If you don't want to grind there are VN's out there or just regular porn pics / vids / clips, but if you choose to download and play a game you accept that there is a grind.
I know some people will say it's the amount of grind not the grind itself, however cheats were added to lessen it and if you really don't want to do anything at all and just see the renders just grab the CG rips or download the complete save and look at the phone.

No not every game is a grind, unless you change your definition of grind as to be absolutely meaningless. But the grind is a really big problem in dating-sim/Life-sim games. MotH isn't really any worse than other games that do similar things, but all of them tend to have the same main issue: There is no consequence to your choices.
Every day you end up doing the same EXACT shit over and over again, hoping to trigger a change. After that change triggers, the loop updates slightly, but then you are doing the same NEW shit over and over, waiting for the next update in the relationship and so on. Actual Dating sims get around this problem by having a limited time frame. Each choice you make MATTERS because there are only so many choices that you are allowed to make. That is actual gameplay. You can see it in Japanese dating sims, and you can even see it in games like the Persona series which has very similar mechanics to a dating sim during the bulk of its time.
When there is no consequence to the choices you make, or the things you do every day. Then it is nothing but clicking incessantly in order to reach your next objective. And many times, there is only one or two things to do, so you have to play out an entire pointless day for what often amounts to seeing the same scenes again and again.
It's called a grind, because there is no thought to it, no real excitement to it, nothing but the small dopamine hit of seeing a number go up. Hell, leveling up in old school RPGs is less grindy than most life-sims. At least there you have a small chance of failure.

I get what you are saying, the time limit in dating-sims and the consequences of choices but the rewards stay the same though, get the date, get the nudes. This would be like comparing a hack n slash(MoTH) to a true RPG(dating-sims), you level in both and gain skills etc but one you're choices don't matter you just get that REALLY big sword in the other (skyrim example : joining stormcloaks) affects alot from who you can talk to all the way through to getting attacked on sight. At the end of the day though you still get the REALLY big sword (nudes) unless the dating-sim is PG
And even in dating-sims you have to keep complementing the girl and asking her on dates yes the "grind" is less but you still have to repeat the process. Just because you're going to the movies and not a cafe doesn't mean you're not going on "a date" again. I agree that seeing the same images over and over isn't that much fun but it makes me feel like i earn the new images when i get them.

I like a lot of things about the game: quick and easy to operate, quality character images (mother and daughters even resemble each other), fun pizza and fitness trainer job, cosy home setting, etc. Even without the sex scenes, there's some nice suspense in trying to bring them about.

Most porn life-sims have that exact same issue. All you are doing is going through the motions, whether it is as an attempt to artificially pad the length of the game, or keep things within a particular framework it doesn't really matter. The gameplay is awful. Or in a more real sense, it's non existent. Beyond that, the structure of these types of games by its very nature makes telling a cohesive story, extremely difficult, as you are more often than not limited to vignettes of each character, that rarely if ever interact with each other. Even VERY good games that use similar set ups (like the aforementioned Persona series) have this problem, which they ameliorate by having the dating sim aspects be a subset of an actual linear story progression.
Some games do the day by day structure very well. The Pervert Action series is a prime example, as each of them gives the player a limited amount of time to reach their goals. They also dole out the sex in one or two big scenes as opposed to say, 20 (See

well the advantage is you can do one or two job runs and only finish the mom and maybe one sister route or you can "grind" the work and finish all the girls routes. They are all in the game but that doesn't mean you have to do all of them.
Personally i feel disappointment when i fail a job get sent home early and know i need to wait one more day before i unlock the next scene but when i do i feel like i earned it and so i look forward to going to work and trying to hit the amount i need again. i blame the guy who says i'm late with the pizza not the game or the dev.
At first the grind was on par with BB. Then with the cheats it became very tolerable (at least for me). Grinds just really add game time is all. You grind to get a certain scene. You grind for a certain ítem. Add RNG to a grind and Jesús Christ you best be lucky.
@Faerin Hi, your fans don't like how critical I am of your game. They believe that I shouldn't hide my criticism in this thread and should speak to you directly. I don't do this to be mean spirited, however there may be times in this and other posts where I've come off harshly. That is not my intent. I actually think your game could be amazing without the grind, and that all you need is a little story to make the game have the same feeling of accomplishment as you advance through it, while maintaining it's overall feel and format. This is the first post I made about it. I tried to reconstruct your game in a way that feels true to the original story.
Again I'm not bringing this to your attention to make fun, or discourage you from creating. I simply really like this community, and the games. I think they all have the potential to be better. Life sims like yours are the hardest, but I know that they can be really good with just a little more story and a lot less grind.
Feel free to ignore this completely if you don't feel comfortable with it. Again I apologise for any harsh wording. It is meant to be constructive, though the context of this thread has lead to some destructive language.
In my post in this thread I caution the developer against falling into the traps that BB and MotH fell into. Their grind is not normal. It isn't how a game should play. Its unimmersive and frankly lazy. There is a way to create a dating sim with some intelligence. First rule, don't make the women dead fish that your MC has to slowly convince to have sex with him. Make them their own characters with their own experiences (or lack of) with their own desires, and with their own motivations. In MotH the the only character that fits all three of those is the little sister. The older sister has none of them and the mother only has desire because of a contrived coincidence. Women don't just fall for the dick man, sorry to break it to you.
After you've written women with all of the above there are ways to make you court them without repeating the same things over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. Instead make the characters do something together because they want to. In the case of MotH there are plenty of ways this could have been implemented, but mostly it was just grind.
Lets start with little sis, because quite frankly she's the only believable character in this game. She's curious about sex and attracted to her strong smart helpful older brother. Honestly the first little bit, how you get started with her, make sense. You help her with what should be different homework every night. Write it, sure math isn't interesting, but its a hell of a lot more interesting than clicking through some bullshit. Have a specific element of the math that she's working on. Make it something simple even like a^2 + b ^2 = c^2. Work a few simple equations with her. Then the next day, do another subject. History, for instance, help her write an essay on WWII or something, Make a few simple mentions of DDay or how Hitler killed himself, make a reference to pearl harbor, nagasaki, hiroshima, etc.The next day (remember the rule of 3) have her need help with anatomy. Have the conversation be about reproduction organs and orgasms and semen and ovaries. At that point have her say something to him about sex. Have her ask if he'd like to try kissing her.
There you have a "grind" because you have to clear a few hurdles to get to that point, but those hurdles aren't repeated, you would be likely to do them in real life, and they provide the opportunity for character growth. From there have her watching a movie one day, not every fucking day, just once after the biology thing is cleared. You choose to sit with her and watch this romance movie that makes her all nervous around you, blushing and giggling. Then give you the option to kiss her. Boom, you don't just kiss a little, you kinda make out till you hear mom get out of the bathroom upstairs, and quickly pretend you were just watching the movie. Boom, now you've advanced that relationship again, you're both having lust filled thoughts about one another.
After you've cleared that you could have her start sending him sexy bikini pics from the store. Something she's doing because she likes him. Have her be more affectionate, hugs that linger, kisses on the cheek or lips when no one's looking etc. Then have her come to you for homework help again, this time it doesn't matter what, but the real reason is going to be that she wants him alone in her room so that she can make out with him. You could have them make out and heavy pet over the clothes to orgasm like the game already does here. This is the point at which their relationship has changed from just being a curious bro and sis kissing sometimes to something with actual lust.
Have the sister avoid you for a day or two, building up your need for a release because you want her but can't have her. Again actual quality writing comes in here. Because these games usually just let you loose to your own devices this kind of shit doesn't happen. But because of whats happened force an event where you look up porn. Just have events that come one after another on a progressive scale. It would be a million times more erotic. Then, after you've satisfied yourself with her story, start on big sis or mom. If you want big sis to turn out to be a sub who loves to be treated like shit, that's fine, have him find that out. Make the reason she gets arrested not be about her being a bitch to someone in the bar, have it about one of her regular customers forcing her to work without panties, wearing a vibe or something, have him make her approach a guy and lift her skirt to grind on him. Have that man's wife be a cop who is coming back from the bathroom and arrests her under those circumstances. Have your character find all this out through the police report and the friend.
After you've put the pieces together use it for blackmail on her. This blackmail would be so much better than the flimsy one originally. It wouldn't just be her job or her being arrested, it would also be her reputation. She isn't ready to have her mom look at her after she finds out that she is a little slut who works with a vibrator in her pussy because it makes her feel good, she isn't ready to have her boss find out she's breaking the rules and actually having sex with a patron. In my post in this thread I caution the developer against falling into the traps that BB and MotH fell into. Their grind is not normal. It isn't how a game should play. that was really well thought out, it sounds like it would make a nice game, however i think you are forgetting a few things.
First and I think most importantly none of us asked for this game the dev had a idea, a story in his head and he wanted to share it. What we are seeing is his ideas mixed with other peoples requests.
Second when he open a patreon account and asked for funding he agreed to let those people have a certain amount of influence over the creation of his game and wanting it to reach the largest audience he looks for feed back from people such as us here and on other forums. Taking these factors into action you must realize that there are suddenly alot of opinions and tastes influencing the games development. Would your above idea make everyone happy? no, i know personally i like your ideas for the little sister for the most part but i don't like them for older sister or mother. thats just my opinion though.
I'm sure there are people who will like all of your ideas, some will like part of your ideas and some that won't like most of them. The fact that the game is so popular shows that while i'm sure we all have one or two things we'd like to change about it, for the most part alot of us love the game. it's popularity speaks for itself.
I think it comes down to everyone has a right to their opinion and a responsibility to express that opinion in a healthy, respectful way like you and burt did and to remember that these games are free to us and if you don't like one or it isn't your taste thats ok, no one will judge you keep looking till you find the game you love but don't make posts just to tear down a game or a dev or say everyone must do only what you like ( not referring to you darth) because that is ignoring others opinions and thats not acceptable.
