Good call there,
ASLPro3D. All Devs make bad decisions from time to time--personally, I specialize in bad decisions. But I can't imagine any decision a dev could make that would be worse than reading random comments on F95 and taking them seriously to the point of altering his vision.
Yeah, I've seen many creators lose control of their creations while catering to some of their vocal and complaining readers, forgetting that there are 100's of those that really enjoy the game as it was done, but never say anything.
And those who do change their stories and games because of the few vocal complainers, no longer have a story that they planned out, worked on, the characters aren't doing what was originally planned and the game suffers for it... thereby creating a louder group of people who are unhappy because the game changed, the story isn't as developed as it once was and leave, pulling their support and interest... this creates a pressure on the creator who chased after nickels and dimes, lost more than what they gained by catering to complainers and then... they... quit.
Because they no longer are telling the story they wanted to tell.
No longer enjoying what they were working on, because all people seem to do is complain.
Can't handle the idea that no matter what you do, there are always going to be people you can't make happy.
And everyone loses.
Just here, alone at F95, this game has been downloaded over 2.9 million times... yes, there were 10-20 people who vocally declared they didn't like the game, it didn't suit them because of "this or that"... but there are 2.9 million other people who DID like it, told their friends about it, suggested it to others and if they felt that it needed to be changed, they never said anything, but there were a HELL of a lot more who DID say they liked it and that is good enough for me...
...but, truth be told, didn't matter if it was only ONE person who liked it; to me telling the story that I longed to tell, in the words and way I wanted to tell it, was the original reason I did this. Yes, I'd love to make more money, but I am at least telling the story I wanted to tell and in the way I wanted to tell it... and THAT is more important to me.
