Picked the easy route? How? I didn't say Subverse is in a happy state, but for what they delivered so far from their kickstarter, Vs what wild life delivered so far from the years of funding it had. Subverse done better so far, yet get shit at all the time due to the "2 million" they raised on kickstarter. Of since then Wild Life had more in patreon income same time spawn. And now starting a kickstarter as well.
Bro look at this thread. Its not like Wild Life gets nothing but praise lol. This game gets shit on all the time, and in many cases also justified.

Well, I only browse it now and then. Just got a bit triggered when saw the kickstarter notice, when knowing how much the creator already get on their patreon.

Well let's see.
Inexperienced studio with an inexperienced project lead.
Devs that are either first-timers or can't get any other more "serious" employment in the industry.
This ride is gonna be slow and bumpy and you can see that coming from a mile away.
I don't know what people expect here to be honest.
If you're a highly talented game dev in Germany you either get a spot at Crytek, Bluebyte or Piranha Bytes, if you're happy with less money you go to Poland and join CDProjekt, or to France for Ubisoft.
All the money in the world can't buy top tier devs if they don't want a furry porn game on their portfolio.

I don't think most people really care about what people worked on as long as they got the qualifications and skills needed for the tasks that need to be done. Lets say you have a crap 3d artist that haven't done any porn. And then you got an awesome one that have. Who do you think a game studio would employ? With how the likes of EA, Blizzard Activision and others use, or rather abuse workers in the industry and fire and re-hire at a whim. There is enough talent out there that just want to work on a project and pay their bills..

50 or so crappy, half-assed animation loops w/ shite boring ass gameplay vs 100+ sex animations, 10+ of which are multi-stage sex animations, outfits galore, open-world, better graphics, has an actual combat system, etc. etc.

Look, I don't wanna look like I'm shilling for WildLife. I mean they still have a LONG way to go, after all. They still need need to optimize their shit, add more quests, improve frames, cater to furry crowd etc. but holy shit at least there's a ton of things to fap to. I mean, shit, if I had to compare the the number of times I blew my load to both games, WL probs gets 100+, while Subverse only got a measly 3 loads from me (because, granted, the new lily tentacle scene from 0.3.0 WAS hot, I mean i gotta admit that lmao).

inb4 oh but hurr durr WL is just a glorified tech demo that's never gonna amount to anything

Yeah, maybe that happens, but at least they have the porn down pat. Plus, the devs seem VERY dedicated to the gameplay aspect anyway. When is it gonna be a full fledged game? Only time will tell... Subverse on the other hand? Not enjoyable. Crappy spaceship gameplay (i'd rather play touhou or something), and crappy grid combat... i'd rather play xcom, into the breach, or DOS as long as it's not subverse
I agree, Subverse just isn't enough. Wild Life just has a lot more going for it especially when it comes to sex

You kinda gave yourself an answer already.
With everything that's going on with the gaming industry these days and most mainstream studios and publishers being almost entirely run by pseudo-feminist SJW types, having a porn game on your resume (especially a niche fetish one) might be grounds for being unhireable by itself. The industry is scared to death of Twitter.

Sorry, but if you look at what's been going on at Blizzard Activision not just lately, but over years. It got nothing do with with SJW's, its all about money. The scourge of the gaming industry is the likes of Bobby Kotic and similar. Flog the staff and keep them crunching, then fire them with excuse of saving money, or withhold bonus's claiming to reaching goals, or change them based on whatever. In the case of Bobby for 2021... 200 million bonus to himself and lay off staff. The recent shits show at Blizzard because of the "work culture" that got the lid blown off it, got nothing to do with sjw's either unless you favor sexual harassment at your work space. That people get "cancelled" for doing abysmal shit is quite different..

Considering what you said earlier about the adult games industry having it really hard to find proper devs to work in it because this and that, shouldnt it then be a reassuring move that people like the wild life devs actually reveal their identities? Feels to me like a way more genuine and honest group than anyone who hides behind online anonymity.

WL is an open world game with interactive sex scenes. Subverse is a game with a few short loops as sex scenes, which are far from the best of 3D porn. It's like comparing a GTA with the solo mode of a Call of Duty.

few short loops... So the last update brought 50 new scenes to Pandora. Pluss the animated fully voiced story content outside of it. In addition the added game play or what not. But yeah if you just want to look at it as a few short loops, do that.

A open world game that is a buggy mess, is still a buggy mess. Tbh, playing Grand Theft auto 1, with the topside down view, is more fun :p

Sure, true. I don't doubt their honesty and heart.
But as said, it's an inexperienced team that (probably) includes lots of first-timers that have very little experience in the business. They might be just glad they got the job and i'm sure they're doing their best.
Still no one should expect exceptionally talented individuals ending up on a project like this, but at least some comments in this thread sound like they do, because they've got a lot of Patrons.
In essence, what i'm trying to say is, money can't buy talent.

The most important person is the "project manager". Which in smaller groups usually end up be the same as the "lead dev". You don't need to bring highly exceptional people aboard. But bring on people that know what they are doing and got the skillset needed, is another thing.

I'm comparing actual porn content, yes.

I don’t feel like it’s productive to compare and contrast porn games, especially ones from completely different genres that appeal to completely different fetishes, but that being said, Wildlife has more potential in its left nipple than Subverse has in its entire silicone filled titty.

Huh i just stumbled upon info they are running kickstarter ... But why ? Did they say anything ? none talks about them getting removed from patreon so that is not the case.
That money won't really do anything for them, so i guess they just wanted publicity ? But Kickstarter doesn't carry much weight for games these days. I think anyone that is into porn games discovered patreon by now and with that the top10 projects there. They may not even hit the goal, the first few days should give the most and that will be bad publicity.

I can't help to see people comparing WL and Subverse. Making open world game with 2mil is as good as setting that money on fire. Subverse for better or worse is a VN with real time animations and some serviceable gameplay. If you look close enough on patreon you will find games that got similar amount of money and are just VNs, yet they don't get all that flak for being just vn. WL on the other hand ... well i think everyone realizes it will take many more years and millions to finish it.

Hello band, do you know if the game is already in Spanish, oh at least if you plan to implement it? Greetings

Just because its open world doesn't necessary mean it would take millions upon millions to complete. Going down that path of narrative, and most people should loose all interest in support the thing. It's all about how you spend your resources/money and the talent you get working for you, of which I got no real idea as their Candy Valley Network page just showcase the two founders and nothing else.

According to their twitter;

"The Wild Life kickstarter will fund the completion and further development of the fantasy world of Kerpal."
Does that mean if the KS fails, they won't be able to complete?

So I guess collecting over a million a year on Patreon isn't enough.... But hey, lets rage on FOW for their kickstarter for Subverse... those greedy bastards right? It feels like WL is doing a "George Costanza" double dipping with 10 fingers..
