Jesus, I thought we learned our lesson with the Tails of Azeroth/Chronicles of Alexzstrasa games.

What's with 3D porn game developers and making ridicously over sized worldmaps without sensible ways to traverse it?

Last time I played this, at least the map was sensibly sized (when you crash in a plane and go to a village).

It's NOT fun running from one point of interest to another taking +1 minute between. It feels like its obligatory to play Maya since her flight is the only thing that makes this insanely sized map bearable.

the map isn't that big - esp. not compared to the 'old maya map' (the one with the oasis and the tribal village). and since the game has fast travel, you probably don't have to play as maya in the final release (if there will ever be one).
also the game has a fighting system; so there will most likely be areas inbetween the POIs, where you can 'do stuff' (fight, loot, side quests and so on). it's not just a matter of 3D porn games, but with games in general: ranging from 2D porn classics like 'strive for power' to non porn classics like 'skyrim'.
porn games are first and foremost games. if a minute of walking is too much for you and you just wanna wank, you probably should just watch porn movies - not play porn games. (and even in most porn movies you usually have to skip the first 5-15 minutes to get to the actual action.)

So....is there an actual game where you can earn sex scenes in here or is it just a model viewer ?
Objectively, as of right now its a model viewer that has been in the works for more than 5 years. It is was, and still is, a small team so progress is always going to be slow. There aren't any "systems" in place to build a game off of. Health bars, giant featureless map, and basic inventory screen isn't a foundation. Its a starting point. Those are things that are learned early on with UE5, but you start with those basics then build off of them. All the effort has gone into the actors, the animations, and physics interactions therein. No amount of trees and bushes procedurally generated in a forest changes the fact that there isn't interaction with the game world. Just window dressing.

So what can anyone conclude other than its currently just a model poser, detailed as it may be.

I can't know what the patreon supporters think, but they haven't pulled funding so I'm forced to assume they're on board.

Will this game ever Release? It's making too much money already.
What a game makes is irrelevant to scope and release.

It makes too much in your opinion, but I'd wager the people working on it don't see it that way as there are plenty of employees that like getting paid for their work. Not like it's one or two devs taking home that money like the vast majority of games here for shoddy work, they have a team well over a dozen people and if you think what they earn a month is making them filthy rich, then you don't understand how business works and all the expenses that come with it.

Just check back in once or twice a year for progress until it eventually releases, not like you were ever gonna pay for it anyways, so its not really worth getting worked up over.

I hope someone will answer us. I don't understand why everyone bypasses this problem. My PC is powerful enough for all modern games. But in this completely empty game, I have a problem on a problem.
a lot of people say that their pc are enought and then want to play with a 1050+I5 6 years old...

it's a lot more than just a model viewer though, it's more like a playable game engine with a shit ton of animated actions
A model viewer for the original half life (1998) would let you load up any model and play every animation that was associated within it.

I'm not trying to split hairs or argue, but the build that is available is just a series of drop down menus that play an animation. It isn't that far removed from what a model viewer is in concept. The key difference here is that this is all within a game world... but the gameworld doesn't offer anything other than to act as a stage that users can decorate and set up their own series of animations, but that's as far as it goes. There aren't any functional gameplay loops.

And this is fine.

here isn't anything wrong with this. If people are happy, let them be. There isn't anything out there that seems to do what wildlife does. But to suggest that there is a game underneath this is at best delusional, and at worst, lying. I don't mean to come off as a hater or a naysayer, I'm not a backer or a competitor. I'm just some jabroni who doesn't see what could qualify this as a game. Just comes off as trying to pretend like a brazzers porno is actually a short indie film about a nihilist who comes over to fix "der kable".

Its all subject to change of course. It would be outstanding to come back in 3 years and see there are working stats, gear, quests, story progression, and hell even maybe have player actions cause consequences within the game world - fail to save an npc and that npc is permadead as an example.

Saying a person would never pay for a game because they're not active on patreon is very dishonest. If the wildlife team could snap their fingers and magic down a 1.0 release that has all the features they could dream of then you'd see plenty of people who don't even have patreon accounts make the purchase. Divinity original sin 2 comes to mind.

To be clear, I'm not a patreon, but I am one of those people who have checked in once/twice a year to see what's going down.

It's not dishonest at all to suggest a person who thinks a company of around 20 people make too much money for their hard work and dedication because the game isn't being developed fast enough for them. Since they clearly think others don't deserve to get paid for their efforts on top of being absolutely clueless on what it takes to make a game these days, it is safe to assume they're the type of person who doesn't support the creators after the product goes to market.

I never based what I said on if they're a patreon or not, I was only a supporter for a little while, but I don't think it makes me better than anyone else who hasn't. I based it on their view of what they think others deserve for their effort. The game progress has been slow, but it is miles ahead of 99% of all the content on this website by far in many areas of the things that go into said games.

So, when you are of an entitled mindset, which the person I responded to clearly is, it is a safe bet they won't be supporting the creators at the finish line. If they're not deserving of what they earn now in support, what makes you think the person I responded to will think they are worthy of his money after?

Slightly random aside... How does mocapping for this work? Do the actors simulate sex in those mocap suits? Do they do their parts separately? Sounds so awkward. I mean getting paid to dry hump sounds awesome but also awkward.

Probably mainly just normal activities like take this thing and carry it here. Interact with this NPC etc. A lot of that kind of stuff which lowers a lot of animators workload. Sex animations they have manually animated so far and probably continue to do so.
