Wondering if anyone has experimented with uploading custom models?
wdym by custom models exactly?
you can import pretty much any fbx model but it won't have a rig or anything, you COULD import parts of a model and then manually animate it like I did with this insect " " but it takes a lot of work. Otherwise you can do some simple stuff like import a necklace or a weapon and simply attach it to a wildlife character

I guess i'm referring to, like say you have a fully rigged character model in blender. Is there any way to use that in game and replace one of the existing characters so they use the same animations?

Is anyone else terrified that Wild Life might end up like Skyrim - as in remembered for the amount of user-created content that it popularizes while the story remains a lackluster and forgettable meal?

The reason Bethesda games tend to have a very long life is because of the modders. So if modders, somehow, keep this game alive a decade form now... That would be something to rejoice, not fear, surely?

Why would that be terrifying?
It's because, to make it short and simple, how would you feel as a developer if you worked on a campaign for your story only to put only the bare minimum effort and leave all of your characters and settings not discussed outside of a sandbox or porn context? People mainly view Skyrim as a playground for mods specifically because Bethesda failed and continues to fail at hooking their audiences narratively or having any remotely decent character or quest writing. They're never remembered for their plots.

Half-arsing WL's story after years of development in the hopes everyone's standards are lowed because of porn would be cheating the investment of the story fans who hoped for more substance over style from a groundbreaking game in the porn genre
