Christmas is here!

Time of Mariah Carey in shops on repeat and some devs trying to give you an update, so you have also a gift from us.
The new test build will be available in Discord within 24 hours, for all tiers.
I tried my best to cramp as much update into the last 2-3 weeks, so you'd have something from us as well - but there is nothing especially Christmas themed. I'll post an update log for the build between this one and the last Test build that was released on the 12.7. Many of you have probably played the build a week before that, there were some improvements there as well.
Changelog
Performance: On multiple front the performance is completely different. Some stats on what we saw on our own machine.
-10 Seconds less loading at startup.
-4 Seconds on loading a save.
-Fluent Skipping!
-Less lags in general
-Fluent Travel with the car (Stamina now gets deducted while traveling)
-Sleeping once more better
-SMS open faster and are more responsive
I am not done with the topic. But those were the things I was able to improve without having to refactor some of the bigger things (Exception phone system. That was big, that was pain).
Features:
We added or re-added some Features:
Boosters Paradise. This will give you the current active multiplier. Depending on the boost it can also give you Money, or Items. Type "PotatoKing" to test it.
View attachment 4370992

Activity type boosts stack with your Patreon Tier. Meaning if you are Silver, they are twice as powerful. If multiple boosts are active at a point, they multiply with each other. Meaning 2 boosts for strength that are x2, will be 2x2 = 4, if Patreon silver -> 8. Those boosts have a duration however.
The investments are not fully done yet, the system will make more sense if that is included as well.
As for the boosts themselves, the idea is that you can get some of them from marketing, some from the discord bots (to do) and some even in game.
Chat overhaul:
The chat finally got a design update. It's a lot more pleasing to the eye.
There is an additional system for the timestamps. We might change that later.
Cross fade:
There is a new Cross fade effect when the time changes.
I might polish this feature still a bit.

Working:
The work events are now more embedded into the sandbox.
You need to farm points to get to see the next event. There is certainly quite a bit of polish needed on this front. But I have some ideas.
Sandbox
You now need cooking and planting, as well as leveling much more than you used. Also because the base stamina went down to 20.
In return running is unlocked a lot earlier. Remember Agility, Strength and Constitution (the most) give you maximum Stamina.
Food can automatically or manually be consumed for extra Stamina. We have new receipes, as well as new buyable items.
The sandbox itself will be polished in the coming weeks. But first I need to test and adjust the investments that we have.
We also added over 300 renders and some older scenes. Including:
  • New scenes with Mina & Ted at work.
  • New Fang Scenes.
  • Corruption based Scene with Melissa
  • Added the University
  • fish pond and fishing

Several bugfixes:
  • Fixed issue with loading
  • Fixed issue with pills (still hard to find atm)
  • Fixed issue with light path
  • Fixed issue with Scene Starter for Melissa

Warning at this point.
I will absolutely break the save/load system between now and January.
That is why this release will also include the new "Boosters Paradise" and a Boost to ensure you don't have to grind much if you want to play this release.
Tutorial to reduce grinding. Log in, load a save, go to settings. scale up your Tier. Go to Boosters Paradise and type in the code.
As for next release. Most of us have vacation. I will continue to work, but also won't be fully engaged the next 2 weeks.
This also means likely no Platinum updates in the following weeks after this build. Since we are also moving I expect the next Platinum build to be no earlier than 17.1, or 23.1.
The idea going forward is that Platinum Member get a build when we have one, while the rest get's an update about once a month.
With a bit of luck we soon can get out of the test build phase.
Last words
We are now over 7k renders in. That is bigger than many full fledged games that went for years.
I basically put a lit on marketing and we stopped putting out anything besides test builds.
But I think you can see overall why. This game, in my eyes, is shaping to be one of the most exciting ones in our field.
Having said that, we need new patrons, so we will try to finish the test-build phase as soon as we can and start marketing.
From my side, Merry Christmas and a Happy new year!
See you in 2025!

I think he doesn't name these test builds since they are just for bugfixes and tweaks while adding bits of content to appease the higher tier supporters. I looked around before posting it and found no new version number mentioned at all even after searching the discord a little. I assume he wont bother until the next actual release since these are just tests

Can you give me the date this one was released?

Not at alpha, beta or release stage. It's a development snapshot, a chance for patrons to test changes if they'd like, and provide feedback.
There is a rather big warning when the game starts up, which should make things clear.

Know that. Stil like to know a version number, if there is non we just use the date.
We update threads also with test builds and even promote those if they have new content.

Push it Baby ;)
When i remember the first time i played your game, couldnt believe that an early version of the game was so well made, besides the errors it had, it still was playable and great story. Its a "Little" mess right now, but i still believe you gonna get us a great game in the long run :)

What.A.Mess.

In a way, this game cracks me up. Each time I play this thing it seems there is a discombobulation of everything that has been done before. Routes, paths, quests...whatever you want to call them are rearranged, redone, reconstituted. It's very unpredictable, which in a way keeps everyone guessing. The problem with that, however, is what's obvious to everyone here--the amount of time spent on recoding and reworking is just insane. One step forward and two steps back. Can someone not say, "ok, this part is a wrap and we're not touching it anymore." Endless tinkering is creating so much frustration it's a wonder any of us continues to hang around.

So why do we hang around? Because at the root of this we have a gem in the making. The best analogy I can come up with is this: At the center is a piece of the best prime rib you've ever eaten. It's been dry rubbed and slowly baked to a mouth-watering tasty treat. But surrounding that treat is two pieces of cheap, stale, white bread. Totally useless, totally beside the point, totally ill-advised. What a waste...

Ok, here' some of the stuff I've ran into in this DP playthrough. And my pardon, but for those of you Patrons testing these releases...are you not reporting all the problems? I have to think you are, but jeez...what jumbled mess.

- Despite being fired, I can still go back to the office and see new scenes with Mina humiliating the MC. After a while the new scenes become repetitive (like the rest of the scenes in this game), but I can still go back over and over.

- The cookie busy started weeks later than ever before this time. Don't know why. I did everything as it came up, but in took a long time to start.

- Despite progressing in cookie experience, the income is stuck at $20. Wasn't like this in the previous release.

- After selling cookies I can't interact with the map unless I advance the time (+1).

- And speaking of +1, that does not mean hours; rather, 4 hour blocks. It should be +1 hour.

- And speaking of four hour blocks...as has been a constant problem in this game, simple little things like picking up a breakfast from Ava lasts 4 hours. Putting suntan oil on Melissa takes four hours, etc, etc.

- Can't progress the Nora quest. Got to disruptor 8 milestone and opened up the first Sunday visit with her at the dojo, but after that--nothing. No longer am presented the option of going to her house to play Tekken. Can't open the second Sunday event with her.

- Books appearing in the bookstore are purchased, but reappear.

- Working at the office is a joke in regard to how much money one makes. Less than $20 for one day's work. If one drives the car and it cost $100+ to drive, then one will be broke in a few days. I could be wrong but I think this is a misguided attempt to push people into a higher Patreon tier so they can travel faster/cheaper. This would be akin to playing Call of Duty and starting with a .22 single-shot rifle and having to pay extra for better guns. Some may do it but it's going to cause a lot of complaining. Is it worth it in the long run? No. Positivity and ease of use will have more $$ benefit.

- Repetition is awful. I can remember when I first came on this site a few years ago and played a game called Foot of the Mountain. I almost left and never came back as I thought maybe all these games were like that one. I popped open the code and saw that some scenes were coded so that one had to play them 30+ times to advance. The exact same CG, the exact same lines, the exact same outcomes in what was termed a Visual Novel. Tell me, what novel have you ever read that had repeating chapters? Chapter 3 the exact same as chapter 2? It's absurd. At the very least, put in a random number generator and have some different lines or a few different CG. The way games are done like this just smashes immersion into a million pieces. Sometimes I wonder if creators that do this are somehow deluded into thinking that they're giving the player all this play time which is a good thing. No, doing the same scene ad infinitum is cheap. It's lazy. It's ugly. I'd rather play for much short amount of time than be stuck on a hamster wheel.

- Text is too small in the dialog box.

UPDATE
---------
- Apparent bug in Nora's quest. DP. This path finally opened after several weeks of nothing. Was able to go to Nora's for first Sunday and lost (allowing Andy to win). Second Sunday went again and lost first round. Second round presented with two red and one blue choice. Either red choice at first appears to lose then the latter part of the scene plays out the same as in the blue choice. Appears that I won and get a +1 Destiny with Nora and +1 Power Score even though I should have lost.

- Bug here: Get a notice that Melissa is working late on her book. Go into room and her thumbnail is in a weird place. Clicking on it brings up the "Event" button, but clicking on the "Event" button freezes the game and I have to load a save. Haven't figured out how to complete this quest, so have to ignore it.

Well said. I would argue that this dev has the absolute worst case of #fuckarounditis. Worse than Sad Crab's Innocent Witches. Worse than Super Alex's Amnesia. I usually think a dev has "fuckarounditis" when they have a gem in the making, but then have no real road map of how to proceed. I agree with you on this game having potential: the setup is super good and the characters are hot. But after laying a decent foundation, the dev just seems clueless.

It's one thing to have a great idea for a novel or screenplay; it's a whole other thing to compose that book or movie.

For example, if a dev is reporting the following "performance" gains, that dev is clueless:

-10 Seconds less loading at startup.
-4 Seconds on loading a save.
-Fluent Skipping!
-Less lags in general
-Fluent Travel with the car (Stamina now gets deducted while traveling)
-Sleeping once more better
-SMS open faster and are more responsive

In short, I bet no one will get excited about the above changes; nor will anyone get excited about the constant reworking of the grind mechanics. Why? The answer is so blatantly obvious: no one will care about such things when there is no decent adult content worth playing for. It is quite unlikely that such things are what prevent interested patrons from subscribing on Patreon or similar websites. Rather, I'd bet that potential subscribers want to see a decent work ethic and a steady supply of adult content.

I think this dev's crucial mistake is that he's trying to make the perfect vehicle before adding meaningful content/sex scenes. But the opposite usually proves true in these sorts of games: players will easily forgive a poorly designed game if the sex scenes and story content are there.

The dev has the characters in place; they're hot and interesting. But it's a story of slow corruption. So that implies many updates where the characters are slowly broken down. We all know the basic formula: first, kissing and teasing and rubbing; second, blowjobs and oral; and last, full-on intercourse. That sort of story is fine--but even a well-handled game with this type of story will take months and even years to get to the more ... well, err ... explosive types of scenes. But then a dev, on top of all this, decides to focus on revamping the grind elements for inexplicable reasons, for an inordinate amount of time, when players generally don't favor complicated grind systems. Bleh...

In this kind of scenario, don't be surprised when no one becomes a paying patron.

The handling of this game is a perfect example of how NOT to develop an adult game. To all ye would be devs, don't waste an excessive amount of time developing a perfect grind system. You're making an adult game--so put in actual adult scenes.

If your game isn't worth playing for free, you got a problem and need a major course correction, because if it isn't worth playing for free, you can be sure no one will be willing to pay for it.

Old saves are not loading. I have a black screen. Too many bugs, game crashes. Unplayable for me. I deleted it. Godot engine....oh well. The game idea is very good, but unfortunately too many bugs.

Lamentablemente no hay código disponible.
Solo se puede acceder editando el script del paquete de proyecto extraído y luego ejecutando el proyecto por el propio motor godot.
[/CITA]
Could you do the same and translate the dialogues and elements into other languages like Spanish?

Wait.... the game is 6.3 GB .7z and still no adult content?
