I'd be worried about bricking some code accidentally, with how the text is laid out in this game (why it's always been untranslated).

It has some sort of drm or something that just breaks the game if you touch it wrong, so it is.

are you making sure to use GitHub for this? it could be useful so if any errors happen you can just reload back to a previous version that still worked.
