Let me explain. Maybe for some people it would seem strange but I play adult VNs not for porn (after all, there are many porn tubes and other porn sites with enough content for wanking) but for the story. I mean every game I download from here I play for the story, characters, setting and so on. Of course porn included but it'd not a target by itself. I value character bulding, relationship buliding, plot twists and above it all I value immersion in the game. The most exquisite pleasure is to live inside the game, living the life of MC and having the same pleasure people have from excellent movie or book. If some game developer just trying to make money he writes some awful story and uses screenshots from porn movies as a visual component of the game. That's something I won't download. If dev makes a good story, render beautiful pictures (the second is optional) I play it. If it's total enjoyment like Palmer games (for example) I just feel glad, I can even write a review for such game. If dev made something in between... then you see me in comments section. Like this case. WVM has a good story, characters with actual personalities, characters that often act reasonable and logical, has an interesting story. But. It seems to me dev tries to give personality to MC but is constantly failing at that. That's why I call MC a walking oxymorone ('cause he actually is). That MC breaks immersion. Another thing that breaks immersion is when dev making a good game but sometimes decide to pay attention to porn fans at expense of story. Jamie and Shauna both were good characters with understandable progression and expected result. Until dev decided otherwise. Again, it breaks immersion, it made me feel like instead of game itself I play some kind of low level fanfiction. I don't like that. So I comes to game thread I say my mind. Usually people agree with me, sometimes even dev aknowledges something and maybe changes some small things in his game (of course, if he or she reads it). But sometimes there's another situation. Let's say sometimes majority of players due some reasons disagree with me from the start, they have another set of beliefs or something like that. So from third person view it looks like I antagonize people though I just ask right questions and explain my opinion, nothing more.
Sorry to interject but just thought i would throw my two cents into the discussion.
You won't believe it, but we love a good story, too. But the problem is that this is a porn game with a fairly good plot. And the plot here is so good that I periodically play again with full reading. And for me it is quite difficult, because I know English quite poorly. Although my level is enough to understand the main idea of dialogues, I periodically have to throw the text into the translator to clarify certain details. Yes, there are minor problems: plot holes, unclear places. But all this will be corrected or explained later. I think the game has a fairly perfect balance of good story and porn content. Especially considering that the game is done alone.
finished version is a loooooooooong way off. The version number isn't explicitly counting toward a 1.0 end point .7.1 denotes this being the first installment of day 7. If I recall correctly ND has said the game will last at least a "year" of in game time tho he will also bee shifting to large spans of time than individual days eventually.
