For those of you with this issue: I encountered this on Win11, and it was because I had installed the game itself in the EN locale. When I uninstalled (which was a pain, and involved manual regedit hacking), and then reinstalled from the mounted image using Locale Emulator, the game now runs fine.

Basically the "script file not found" issue occurs when the file name and path for the script in question are not correctly saved on disk, because the game was installed in the wrong language.

(There may be other reasons for this error, but the solution above worked for me at least.)

Is there a direct downlood link, the site just offers crap when trying to access any of the links
Eventually, after jumping through enough hoops you will get to the game download, but you could just go to the dicord of the group that translated it and get it from there. has their Discord link as well as other projects they work on related to the series. It's just the patch though, game not included. You'll need to get the game first, then patch it in. So, if you want to avoid the extra work, I'd keep trying the link.

I am having difficulty installing the game from the mdf that I downloaded from the Mega link in this thread.
Note: I have successfully installed games requiring Japanese locale in the past, using the Locale Emulator set to Japanese.
Attempting to install this game, I see the same result when run Setup with locale set to either English or Japanese.
In either case I get a InstallShield Wizard window with garbage for the window text and three buttons (SS attached). I found that the center button prompts for install destination, so I set that as needed.
After setting the destination, I tried clicking my way through several new windows, results depending on which buttons I click on, but each time eventually ends up closing everything without installing.

Help, please?

Hi, I posted a request for help last week and so far nobody has responded.

Since you have obviously had success in getting the game to run (it must be working better than mine if you are able to see the "New Game" menu), do you have any clue as to why I can't even get it installed?
Please see my post right above this one, also linked here:

I thought the download on this forum was already converted to English, so why is the setup showing garbage characters?

I don't think the main download is localized - it's the original japanese version, and you're supposed to install it and then install the English patch to localize it. The specific garbage in your screenshot looks like an encoding issue; I'm not familiar with Locale Emulator and not sure why it would cause that.
There again, I'm afraid I too am failing to install this game, for issues that I think are unrelated (I'm trying to run it in Wine, and the installer ends up asking for the nonexistent third data file).

I was thinking that the download was already patched for English. My bad.
I seems that I was mistaken: I don't have Locale Emulator installed, but have the Windows Region/Language set to Japan/Japanese. In spite of that, the installer is displaying the same garbage whether set to US/English or Japan/Japanese. Maybe I did not configure it correctly? but I don't see how that could be.
Anyway, I have now installed Locale Emulator and ran YNS setup, selecting "Run in Japanese" in the LE context menu. Now it looks like the YNS installer is displayed in Japanese, but it still won't install anything. I can't read Japanese, so I may be clicking on the wrong buttons. As I mentioned in my previous post, I found the install location destination selection, but after that I don't know what is what.

I was hoping that I could test the installation with this download, then if I got it working and patched I could feel confident about purchasing the game from dlsite and patching it.
I am still hoping that someone who has successfully installed the game from this download can help me. Please?

EDIT:
I found a website with instructions including (screenshots) for installing this. I will see if that helps.

EDIT2:
I reconfigured the Windows 11 language/region, and now it works. I installed the patch, and the game is playing now, in English.

I've managed to install this game. The way I did it was giving up on this download (it doesn't even work for me on an actual Windows system, so Wine wasn't at fault; no idea what kind of voodoo one needs to make it work).
Instead I grabbed a torrent with an already-installed version of the game from Sukebei, the [Fuwanovel] Yosuga no Sora (Partial Patch) one. Now, that download is ancient, which means the English patch there is pretty bad - but you can solve that by simply applying the modern version of the English patch on top of it. The game version is I think the same, 1.00.
I haven't played all that much for now so I don't know if this approach is issue-free, but at the very least it launches fine in Wine and plays.
