It seems that the save game files from the version of this game that I downloaded here last year are not compatible with those in the digital version that I downloaded today.
Is this true?
I ask because when I start this version with the save files in the savedata folder, the game won't start. It pops up a message in Japanese and aborts.
I may see if I can get that message translated, maybe there's a clue. Maybe I won't, since it has been quite a while since I played it and I'm sure I'll enjoy replaying.
But it would be good if someone could confirm or deny the incompatibility.

I downloaded it again just now. It doesn't crash now.
Do the newer versions of the game save in an appdata folder, or only in the ..Yosuga no Sora\savedata folder?
If it is saved in appdata, I can't find it. The older (last year) game version was saving in ..\User\appdata\roaming.
If I copy those older save files into the savedata folder, that does crash the game when I try to load a save, with a message about bad save file.
The savedata from the game that I downloaded yesterday do load and run in today's new download. I had started from scratch and completed the Nao route, as I had given up on my older saves. They definitely do not work with the latest game versions, but at least I am able to continue the game progress I started yesterday.
Anyway, thank you for the prompt response. I'm happy with the state of this latest updated game.

When you say last year's version of the game:
There is the one update from December 2024 on the digital version, that saves locally in savedata and may or may not work.
There's the physical version that was released before that, that definitely won't work.

Make sure you are not using locale emulator as this is designed for English locale, also try deleting the savedata folder.
