Can you re send the example? Cause I want to know if it's worth the hassle for the pc98 emulator vs just downloading the windows version.
Not worth unless you want specifically use the emulator or you have a pc-98 system, you also will not have the dub that is a port from the saturn version incompatible with that system.

Is there a way to beat puzzle with weird symbols? Either I'm dumb or the puzzle was made just to waste time...

Edit: Never mind, I found a solution.
If someone needs it, here:

Edit: Just in case, there are both puzzles.

Alguém pode me ajudar? Baixei o jogo e instalei o "Instal.ps1" através do Powershell, e mesmo assim, quando eu corro o jogo, ele diz que o jogo não foi instalado corretamente.

Make sure it is on compatibility mode > reduced color mode > 8 bits (256); that it is on C:\ drive and in a not too long path (it worked from "My Documents") and that you're running AI5ENG_VOICE from inside the YUNO folder (and not the exe file outside).

It also doesn't run well with e.g. Wine.

Hi everyone, I'm trying to make the game run on an Ayaneo 2 6800u with Windows 11 64bit with no luck so far. I've tried the reduced color mode, no fullscreen optimizations, screen resoultion 640 x 840 options in the compatibility tab but still getting the "This game only works with at least a 256-color display and graphics accelerator card" error message.
I'm running it as administrator, the game is installed in the default location, I've read through this whole post but nothing seems to help, any ideas?

This is how I've set it up in Windows 10 without issues.
Screenshot from 2024-07-30 20-26-36.png
Note that it does have another AIENG in the parent folder which doesn't work. I forgot why it was set up that way.
Literally the only thing I've checked from compatibility options.... is 8-bit aka 256 color mode (there's an option for 65535 colors aka. 16-bit, which obviously doesn't work). Running as normal user, not as admin. Machine set to Japanese locale (AppLocale is not installed).

And if you're wondering this is indeed a virtual machine, I use Linux after all, and this didn't run under Wine. Virtual machine means virtual iGPU, as VirtualBox is not able to use NVIDIA RTX or expose that to the VM.

Given that Wine runs well nearly any Windows software released the past 5 years, it most likely relies on weird things ─ check if you're using the right executable (note the paths) and check if you're running it under iGPU or NVIDIA Performance Mode to be on the safe side. It's perfectly possible it just doesn't run with Windows 11, which would be a bummer but then Windows 11 barely installs in real machines, I'm not going to see if it installs under virtual hardware at the moment.

Thank you so much for your time and effort. I've tried your compatibility settings and didn't work, I'm running the right executable, Locale Emulator set on Japanese... I read someone with a Lenovo Legion Go (which has pretty much the same APU and Windows 11) that got it to work by changing the resolution to 480x640 with CRU, I tried to do that but got a black screen on my Ayaneo (lol), I guess I've to do a little bit more research on how CRU works.
Thank you very much again.

EDIT: FINALLY!! It seems that adding 480x640 resolution in CRU did the trick. In case someone with an AMD Windows 11 handheld PC is on a quest like me, try that.

Okay, this is the only place I can turn to. You guys are my only hope now. A while ago I downloaded the Elf classics game pack with Yuno, and Shangrlia 1 and 2 for Windows. I added the TLWiki patch, added the voices to it and played through a good chunk of the story. I stopped playing for about 3 months or so and when I came back the game wasn't registering my save data. The location of the game folder seems to have been important for loading the save data or something but I've since moved my folders around and changed the names in the 4 months. I was told the FLAG files were my save data so I backed those up and tried so many things to try to get my saves to load. I did several fresh installs, in the default location and other places. I downloaded different versions and tried them as well, edited the .reg file to have the right path for dir and exe, whatever. Nothing works, and so I've turned to the internet for help. Whatever file you need I can provide. I just don't want my 20+ hours of gameplay to go down the drain.

Well, it's been a long time (seven months?) since I played this, but my saves still work.

I may be wrong so don't quote me on this, but I believe the FLAG files control largely your progress/unlock in the timeline... Did you make sure FLAG00/FLAG10 last changed date is correct? iirc one of them gets overwritten every time you open the game, it's perfectly possible for it to have been clobbered without you noticing. Did you also check if Yuno's Divergence Map?

I can confirm that Windows only changed these two files in an open-game > load save > save again > exit of Yuno. Well, that and recently accessed files index + prefetch cache which are unrelated to the game.

So your saves should indeed be in the FLAG files, unless they got corrupted somehow. (And yes, if you made the backup AFTER it failed to display your save files, the odds of it having deleted the saves is kinda high). And while at that, make sure you didn't try to, for example, run a fresh install without voices/patch. Not sure about these games specifically, but that's an easy way to make saved files incompatible or to fail to load, along installing the game in a different path from when you saved the files (some engines used to register the installation path or file hashes in the save files... not sure if it is the case here but these always gave issues when trying to load even in fresh installs).

All my flag files were last modified in February of last year, and I did back them up after they failed to load in game so if they're corrupted there's nothing I know to do about it. And I played on the voice patch originally so I've continued to add them with every fresh install. I didn't want any variables to change from my first install so I've tried to replicate it as closely as possible. As for the divergence map, since there were no saves I played through the prologue til I got access to it to see if it was there but it was wiped.

I meant if they were corrupted and you backed up their corrupted version, that would justify why nothing you do work. As a somewhat quick test, you can backup the FLAG files where you completed the prologue, reinstall the game like you've been doing, and restore the (prologue) backup. If the restoration works, then the issue is on your backup and there's not much if anything we can do; if the restoration fails however, then it might be procedural, and trying in a different way may have effect.

If you prefer, I can share with you my savegame (or at least the one I could find) ─ but it has under 12 hours in, only having finished the professor path and midway in the stepmother path (so not even half of the first part of the game concluded), and I never played the other two games, so I don't think it would be not even remotely worth the trouble (except maybe that if you fail to load it then there's a chance of the flag files storing more than the usual stuff in them).

That's the wrong executable.

You must run the one inside the Yuno folder, and keep this one as-is.

Make sure to read the Installation Instructions in the OP.

If you could make a video explaining it I would appreciate it since I did all the steps and nothing happened.
