the dev brought it on himself...but to be fair, either the quality of these VN is going down or i'm becoming pickier(well i play almost everything but...liking it? that's becoming a rare occasion)

Oh no, it's all shovelware "MC returns home after being away for some contrived reason for X years and now the family wants to have sex" or "MC goes to college and plays basketball." or "MC's parent(s) die(s) and takes over family business, but other big business wants to take the money, meanwhile mc grooms/fucks sisters"

It's all played out. I have low expectations, but still get disappointed.

and when the plot is a bit more original(and it's a bit more serious)...it has plotholes all over or the characters are just...not weird but unreasonable like "oh yeah this weird event that got me some weird powers? totally normal, just another tuesday let's move on"

OR, a vast desert-- I mean sandbox.. That is either linear and tedious, or completely empty and both just get milked raw. It gets to the point I wanna scream "Just animate porn loops and go away."

I understand it's all dumb porn shit at the end of the day, but 90% of them are using the visual novel format. But delivering the literary equivalent of a sandpaper fleshlight.

So, I'm a little confused.
The current version I have claims to be 0.15 - this is not on the changelog list.
When I go to do a download it says it's 'Final update 3', but the title of this thread and the changelog are referring to a 'final update 5'.
Have 4 and 5 been thrown out and is the game completed or abandoned

The only games i review are the complete ones or the ones that really pissed me off a lot...ONE game i refused to review because i promised the dev(i did spent 16 hours criticizing every scene that seemed too stupid even for a funny-scene in his own discord-server)...but everytime i see a new update, i'm considering to break such promise even more when i read the newest reviews who agree with me

hah, nice to see people bonding in the comments. Keep fighting the good fight, we need more good writers working in the industry. Though I don't mind when a game leans more on visual storytelling, like Desert Stalker or Superhuman

Desert Stalker still has a decent plot tho...which is what we're complaining about: this game doesn't have a good plot, it's abandoned on occasions, forgotten and then suddenly reappears but lost its sense, so we have some weird paranormal story then a weird murder-mystery and in the meantime MC fucks everything that can breathe without real consequences.

Desert Stalker still has a decent plot tho...which is what we're complaining about: this game doesn't have a good plot, it's abandoned on occasions, forgotten and then suddenly reappears but lost its sense, so we have some weird paranormal story then a weird murder-mystery and in the meantime MC fucks everything that can breathe without real consequences.

Desert Stalker has interesting worldbuilding and lore, but jury is out on the plot part. The pieces are there, but it can still go sideways.

4 and 5 are patches you add after you unpack 3. The links for each are in the OP, under the spoiler the reads UPDATES.

So the steps are

1. Download and unpack update 3
2. Click the spoiler in OP for UPDATES
3. Download update 3>4 and unpack. merge the game folders. Answer yes to replace (if it asks)
4. Download update 4>5 and unpack. merge the game folders. Answer yes to replace (if it asks)

thanks for the info, but OMG why is it so complicated? and why were the updates put under 'spoiler' and why would we even look in there for updates?
