I tried to write out all the mechanics that aren't given a full explanation in the mod description in my " ".
Please tell me if there is something missing.

Yes. You can also breed them with brothel clients with wanted essences, this produces only female offspring.
thanks that guide looks good

Dang, I tried hopping in blind, and I started hemorrhaging money like crazy around day 25 (I was losing 7k a day on slave upkeep). If I am guessing right, it is the "clutter" mechanic. It feels like the new mechanics naturally push you really hard towards piling up tentacle rooms. You get a bunch of goblin girls at the start and they sell for such low amounts that it feels wasteful to just sell them off. The milk selling makes it seem like the tentacle rooms are self sufficient. But, it seems like it was a giant trap. Do they really add +1 maintenance to every slave after 50? If that was the case and there was no in game warning, then I really don't like that feature.

Overall, I want to play with the new content, but it feels like old content got nuked left and right to make way for it. Losing racial traits and unique traits from the relationship reward slaves really hurts on giving them individuality. Losing the racial traits makes it seem kind of pointless to get other types (at least for the vast majority of the game.) It just means that you can't use market manipulation to get a half priced profession to start training your other slaves in. It also makes the unique slaves rewarded from affection building a burden rather than a boon. I'd love it way more if the mod had gone the other way and added tons of new unique traits you could try to combine, maybe make them merge into even more new ones if you got them on the same slave, and add a bunch of cool unique mechanics to the new races to give them room to stand out and be something to work for.

Unlocking the blacksmith and trying to upgrade rooms only to find out the feature had basically been removed from its old form also hurt a bit. It feels like it has been entirely deconstructed to be an exclusive framework for the new profession system.

Sorry I'm not technically minded. How do I install the modpack?
Just copy the contents of the modpack into the game folder, overwriting everything the computer asks.
You will know it worked, if when the game is running , you can call the mod menu with F5 or F6 button.
If that doesn't work, come back here for more advice.

The things you described are not "new content". It is a mod, "Complex Breeding". And yes, it is a total overhaul of the base game, changing many things. Including some things that would be nice to keep.
What difficulty were you playing? Clutter rule should only happen on hard and above difficulty.
CB just has higher expenses than the base game, so you'll be selling slaves and monsters just to avoid paying their upkeep.
About tentacle rooms - goblins have low birth limits, so if you've run out of birth limits in your tentacle rooms, they would stop producing milk, and thus stop bringing you money.
I agree with you about special slaves not being that good in CB. The elf and the sheep having sacred essence is nice (because it's hard to get at early stages), and that's it.

I had played on a harder difficulty because that is what I played on without the mod. However, I got blindsided super hard by that exponentially increasing cost system, and I only learned about it way after it crippled my run by checking here. I've played a bit more after knowing about it, and it went a lot better. I'm still skeptical on it though.

I get that it's a mod and not a new official patch, but it adds a bunch of new things like races and professions. I'd like to play with that content, but it'd be nice if doing so didn't involve giving up things like race/character traits and the blacksmith. I understand that the current system has removed them and replaced them, but it isn't hard to imagine how both could be used at the same time. The blacksmith for example could just add the classroom modifier into her pool of slave room mods instead of replacing the entire list with that one mod.

And, there is still a trait system. I'm not sure how technically challenging it would be, but maybe just expand the maximum limit of traits and guarantee the racial's again while keeping the current implementation? From reading the notes it even seems like some races still get racial traits, but they just removed it from the rest for some reason.

Other content like tentacle rooms and milk as consumables (straight money is just less interesting.) has been all but removed through really heavy nerfs. It'd be cool if they could be integrated into the new systems instead of effectively removed. Perhaps milk could give noninheritable essence stats, and maybe tentacle eggs could be used as consumables to transform races/traits on existing slaves instead of having to give birth to new ones for that. Integrating them into the brothel (corrupting clients for some purpose) or into the profession system (maybe a different way to change jobs) would also be interesting.

I do think a lot of this probably stems from the fact that this is an overhaul, and I understand it is trying very hard to address the glaring issue of the game's ceiling being reached so quickly in the base version. But at the same time, it seems like the game is being stretched in some ways by removing content which provides potential shortcuts to victory. Of course though, that just leads to less things being done in a longer playtime. I'm just not going to spend time messing with tentacles rooms at all anymore for example.

Elves and some of their evolutions keep the strange reproduction cycle from the base version - they get a tattoo from the first race they have sex with, while having low base reproduction chance.
Slimes, golems and undead races have immunity to disease as a racial trait, while other races may get it by other means.
But most of the time, getting traits is a matter of chance. And that chance is rather low, which makes them impractical to use.

Also, I heard in the discussion of ProjectR in this thread that trait limit of 2 is somehow hardcoded and can't be exceeded.

I agree. The tentacle rooms are only good for transforming slaves through room upgrades now, because tentacle eggs are now as useless as breeding monsters. I wonder how hard it would be to have evolutions that require tentacles as partner.

Noninheritable essence seems like a good compromise between how corruption (doesn't) work in CB, and works in CB for dummies (where it is inheritable, but doesn't improve current stats). I wonder if milk should give essences according to the race, or according to essences the slave possesses.

Yeah, I started cultivating a group of slaves that were meant to have high essences (I think with the 4: enduring, sacred, demonic, and elemental) and they started being born with different traits that seemed interesting. They spawned in with enduring bloodline, disease immunity, and corrupted womb. That was a pretty interesting feature, and I definitely like the new system too. It just seems to take a very long time to get rolling.

That is sad to hear. Modders definitely are going to have it rough with technical limitations and less hours to devote, and you have to appreciate what they do despite those difficulties.

My computer didn't try to overwrite anything. The current game folder looks like this.

If you are willing to savescum it's really easy.
For Kitsune, the fastest approach is to buy a Wolf Paladin, and place her in the capsule and savescum until you get +2-3 in both essences. Now use your MC and breed, and then send the offspring to the capsule, repeat this another time and the final offspring should be in the essence range for Kitsune, but you'll also have to rid her of Feral Essences at the tentacles. Lastly I highly recommend improving the womb to at least 4 while ridding of Feral Essence, and then savescum breed with the MC.
This assumes you are using the Complex Breeding for Dummies addon, since the process is way more grindy otherwise.

for the complex breeding, all of the special races are still grey right? I really want to breed some cowgirls lol
Not sure what you mean by "grey". But you certainly can breed cowgirls by crossing sheepgirls with minotaur monsters. Not sure if this is an accident, but my population of minotaur girls are all reddish in color.

Kitsune are tricky to breed, because they need to be free of many essences. You'll probably need to use tentacles a lot.

With lizard evolution tree, you have to keep in mind whether you need to breed with humans or with salamanders. And the base probability for dragons is just 2%. I recommend getting a drake slave with small womb, so that she would not give birth to salamander monsters, only to other drake girls and dragon girls.

If I want complex breeding is the link on the main page the most up to date? and should I read a guide first? I know its far more complex I don't want to get lost.
