Dumb question but how do I play 1.34? The github doesn't have .exe file
It's been a while but I think I downloaded the free Renpy software off of the official website, compiled the project with the github files, and it spit out the exe. I couldn't really figure out the software, but I was able to start a new project (maybe a tutorial) compiled and saved it to where I wanted the exe to end up, then dropped all the github files into the newly created folder, overriding what was there, re-compiled the same project, and I was able to play the game.

Hopefully someone else knows of an easier way and can post it here.

edit - never mind, zelle8 posted a new link
but I still wouldn't mind knowing the correct way of running the game with only the github files for future reference.

I know the easy way. Read previous posts - find a link to download. Or also through the search system...

I have the same question.
As usual there's a zillion changes in the structures. So No. You can't use previous saves.

To quote from the file "1.34 - patch notes.txt":

"
-------------
Update 1.34
-------------

This update is NOT compatible with your old saves!

Improvements:
- Cleaned up the game's files and removed any unnecessary code-lines, variables, and classes;
- Improved the layering of each girl;
- A Shit load of bug-fixes;
...
"

Hint: Start a new game and cheat. And skip the battle with snape. It's of less than minimal priority to fix...

No idea what the 'correct' way is, but your method worked just fine lol. Created a project, deleted everything inside the project folder, copy pasted the github dump, built the distribution from the launcher.

Btw I did it cause the latest build merges some of the changes that @LoafyLemon made on Pg 154 into the link @Zelle8 posted.

@tenten20 You can simply delete old game subfolder and replace it with new one from the archive, just make sure to leave these untouched:

Code:
/lib/
/renpy/
WT Silver.exe
WT Silver.py
WT Silver.sh

I'm not aware of any other thread, but I did bookmark two recent posts (which means they should probably still work with the current file structure) about how to import and into the game.

Witch Trainer: Silver - Update 1.34b

This update should fix most issues that were persistent with 1.34, including the outfit packaging bug, and a bug where Cho, Susan's & Astoria's wardrobe wouldn't unlock when using cheats.
You can use your 1.34 saves with it.

Download:

This should support PC, Mac, & Linux systems.

I like a lot of these, the only main critisism I have is that some feel a bit to detailed for the chibi since it's rescaled and sticks out compared to the character itself.

One of the main things I see that could be tweaked is that the chibis has pretty strong black outlines. The lingere gloves that you put in looks pretty good for example. The second book for the tutoring ones also seem pretty uniform with the rest too.

I like the chibis a lot in this game so I'm glad to see these.
Thank you very much! I really like them too! :)

...which is why I fitted all those clothes, I guess - lol

Yeah, some are really detailed, all I did was rescale the clothes available so I couldn't really avoid that issue.

Here is a Susan Cheerleader costume,
I forgot to add: susan_cheerleader.png ...a bit of work needed, as always - lol!

Oops, I should have put this up earlier, but here is some glows (someone can make them better) for Loafylemon's Yule lights when it is night:

Just a suggestion for the Weasley's Store: it looks too barren and spacious, maybe (gawd's don't use these terrible pictures, they're just as an example) spruce it up a little... though perhaps NOT too much as it is all too easy to get carried away.
ideas_for_store.png The bookcases are just Genie's chucked in there as a filler, as are the not fitted walls.

Maybe even make a randomized encounter for the store, so that every now and then a student is in there (make sure to make the number of students lower than the count of empty):

Really enjoying this one.

Found a bug with Luna though.
Line 1006 of ll_pf_02_Sit_on_my_lap.rpy has the calls in the wrong order, looking for an image file that doesn't exist for anyone.

@Wyrdo
This is some interesting stuff you've posted. I really like it. (y)

The store could use some more love, it isn't exactly how I wanted it to be. I might redesign the room from scratch later to make it look more unique and not so empty, unless someone more experienced with the pencil decides to make it. :)

About yule/xmas decorations, I had an idea to add dynamic lights with a switch on the wall, fullsized christmas tree with random presents each week, plus some other crazy shit like mistletoe growing out from the ceiling when Hermione (or other girl) enters genie's office, but in the end I've decided against it. Mainly because I wasn't comfortable enough with WT code (or renpy at all lol) and secondly I didn't wanted to change the feel of the game too much so I went with something more minimalistic instead.

Honestly I wasn't expecting any of it to be added into the main game at all. It was quite a surprise. :p

The game definitely could use more chibis and animated scenes. Your chibis are nice but as someone already pointed out, the outlines and details look off, not because you did something wrong, no, its because of how raster graphics calculate pixels when scalling the image up or down, especially with such badly compressed images as original WT has, its really hard to do anything useful with such small source images as chibis are. What can we do if we can't draw all the images ourselves and don't want to pay a pro to do it for us? So I've been thinking, what if we took the images we have and converted them to vectors and then manipulate the image? You'd get something like this.

1546055787188.png

The SVG image looks smoother but lost a little bit of details here and there, but what's good about vector graphics is that no matter how small the picture, it will always stay sharp as ever with as much details as you put into it. If we wanted we could redraw the missing details back with ease because you can zoom in/out without having to use a microscope :p, trying to do the same on a normal chibi image is almost impossible because you have to operate on a PixelxPixel level. (We don't have higher resolution images sadly :cautious:)

1546056372952.png 1546056408084.png

The posibilities of using SVG images in animations are insane, you could attach bones to specific parts of the image and animate them with just a press of a button without the need to redraw parts of the image for each frame. Vectors are the future my dude. :D

I'll leave the link to the website I've used to convert the image.
