If I download the compressed version, does the DM patch still work right? is there a compressed version of the patch? or is the original fine?

If the menu at the top of the page is not displayed, click the dark spot on the top right. Besides that menu you should see a bar at the top with the day, time etc. There is a notebook icon on that bar, click it. Click design and customize as you would like.

Mac version issue, solution, and patch installation instructions:

I downloaded the lightly compressed version, and the patch. First I tried running the base game. It wouldn't run. I got an error when I double clicked the app, and an error when I ran it from a Terminal window. Digging into it, I found that the shell script the app runs initially has dos line endings instead of unix line endings. It looks like someone saved it with a dumb editor in Windows, possibly notepad.

Solution - open the file in vi and change the line endings.
  1. Open Terminal
  2. cd to the directory with the app
  3. vi EcchiSensei.app/Contents/MacOS/EcchiSensei
  4. type these commands exactly, including the leading : (but not the number at the start)
    1. :set ff=unix
    2. :wq
After I did that I could run the game.


To install the patch, copy the following from the patch to the same place in the main game:
  • archive_dm.rpa
  • patch.rpy
  • game/menu/options.rpy
Enable dark mind in the options menu. Turn on kinks you want to see.

both are the compressed version (4,7gb)
uncompressed version (16gb) follows tomorrow since there was an error in the archive

Download one of the above, unpack them ... copy all the Patch Files right into the main game folder (overwrite when asked)

I think your directions may be a little confusing. You are correct and thanks, but it would be best to describe that the contents of the DM patch are put in the folder "EcchiSensei-Week_1-lightcompressed". I'm pretty sure that is what you meant, but by saying in the game folder, people will think the usual game folder that most games use for a patch.

If you look at the contents in the DM patch, you'll notice they are identical to the items inside "EcchiSensei-Week_1-lightcompressed" so that each one is overwritten. Maybe that just makes more sense to me. I made the mistake of adding contents to the single "game" folder and that caused the error where you can't even launch the story. Just saying.

I’m so confused. What is ‘week 1’? Dark mind patch is for week 1, but there’s no links for week 1 in OP. Also it’s 2,5 gigs, but Lain mod says it includes this patch, but it’s only a couple of MBs. And it says it’s not compatible with week 1. How does it all work? What should I download? o_O

Edit: Okay, I think I’m starting to get it. :)

Exactly, that's 6 + another X months without ANY new content. Let's say we'll wait for day 8 and 9 for 2-3 months. That will be 8-9 months of waiting between updates. That's the longest time I've ever seen on this page without game being onhold.

seems you dont know anything about (game) developement. They changed the whole framework and most of the games mechanics. So its nearly a complete new game. Just the content is known from before. So be patient for next content update (day 8-9) which should be done within 1-2 months

well there this nasty thing u know called the internet. it can normally work fine but sometimes when u upload something 1 little file gets messed up but u dont catch it.

fyi a file can be come corruptes after u upload it. ive had plenty of times i uploaded a file and then a few hours later for some reason the uploaded file is corrupt and have to re upload it.

Bahaha, Yuki is just gone without the dark mind patch. RIP, guess we have to download it to save a daughter's life now.
