I hope you are right, I would prefer it if he stopped developing the game, for whatever reason, than him being dead! He's too young and too talented for that!
If he really still is alive, I hope he will return to smutty game developing again in the future. He makes some good shit!
Just imagine how good this game could have have been today if he consistently updated it like he used to. What a missed opportunity. It's really sad.
Yeah I mean it hit everything I was into and the character models were top tier. Selena One Hour Agent is also really good, although not at the level of this game but not many are of course. Imagine how much content we could have had, been two years almost...

Some of us hope that it doesn't get "picked up."
I am not one of those people. Astrid's model is top tier, I'd love to see her get a new lease on life.

I'm only in the former camp, i.e hoping he comes back one day.
But if he doesn't, I wouldn't mind s.o 'picking this up'. Better fail trying than not trying at all.

Actually, I don't think that DRG will be back. I think that, when he came back to Patreon long enough to close down his page and delete everything, he finally closed the book once and for all.
Quite possibly, yes. But more than that, it would be wrong, both ethically and for the integrity of the game and the character.
As far as I'm concerned, it's not a question of someone either failing while trying or not trying at all. It's a question of stealing someone else's intellectual property, or not stealing.
And it's also a question of someone taking over who has no idea of what the creator's intentions for the continued development of the story and character were, so that there's no possibility of the story being completed as originally intended.

The ethics of people on these sites has always fascinated me.
For some, stealing goes all the way to using the same model and name as another game, for others it doesn't.
As for full on IP stealing there is plenty on this site, have you never played nor liked any?
Also, I'm pretty sure the creators of Batgirl and Hermione never intended them to become sluts in a porn game. But then neither do the devs of those games intend to give them a follow up story as originally intended. They take a character and imagine a different story in an alternate world.
That's what that would be if someone picked this one up.
(as an aside that may be clearer, you also have no idea if the original creator's story would have remained to your liking. Only considering that someone else's will be different without thinking it could also be better, sounds like being too scared of change. I wonder if your love of the game hasn't gone too far.)

WE done this road before, just because someone else pick up and use the same model, it won't be the same game, because the creator won't be the same, end of the story. We don't need Astrid to be ruined by somebody else.

I used to be a longtime supporter of this game, but a while back I saw the writing on the wall and went ahead and downloaded everything from DRG's Patreon page. Now that it's no more, I feel like sharing it with my fellow Astrid fans. This is a zip of all the game's CGI plus every wallpaper, random render, teaser, etc.
