Just because you avoid it, it does not mean it's not fucked up. which is my point and the truth.

The ethics of people on these sites has always fascinated me.
Since the people who use this site are basically like the rest of the people in the world, their ethics are like other people's - meaning that they vary from person to person. You're no more likely to find a uniform morality here than anywhere else, so why comment on "ethics of people on these sites", as if you could narrow them down in any way?

For some, stealing goes all the way to using the same model and name as another game, for others it doesn't.
As for full on IP stealing there is plenty on this site, have you never played nor liked any?
I download the games here which have developers who are active on this forum, or who have otherwise sanctioned people playing the in-development versions of their games without paying, such as developers who release "public versions". And if I like the game or the developer enough, then I put my money up.

Are you saying you don't do the same? You mean that you steal people's hard work and give them nothing for it?

Also, I'm pretty sure the creators of Batgirl and Hermione never intended them to become sluts in a porn game. But then neither do the devs of those games intend to give them a follow up story as originally intended. They take a character and imagine a different story in an alternate world.
That's what that would be if someone picked this one up.
This is a form of logical fallacy known as a false equivalency. The two things you describe are not the same. They are very different. For someone to pick up this game, and try to carry on from where DRG left off, keeping the existing content intact, and using the same characters and the same storyline up to here would be, at best, plagiarism, and at worst, outright theft of intellectual property.

On the other hand, for someone to make a porn parody of Batgirl or Hermione or Wonder Woman or Lara Croft or whomever-the-fuck-you-please, is not theft in the same sense. It is parody, and there is a very clear legal doctrine in place which allows for parody, but not for theft of intellectual property. See any of the various legal cases which prove the point, if you actually don't understand the difference.

as an aside that may be clearer, you also have no idea if the original creator's story would have remained to your liking.
That's absolutely right. I have no idea whether or not I would have liked where DRG took the game from here. I never suggested otherwise.

Only considering that someone else's will be different without thinking it could also be better, sounds like being too scared of change. I wonder if your love of the game hasn't gone too far.)
I never said that no one could possibly do it better, although I very much doubt that they could. What I said is that this story and these characters, and the digital assets involved, belong to DRG, and no one else has the right to take them and use them as they see fit.

Scared of change? Why should I be scared of change. Opposed to theft? Yeah, I am.

No, I don't think my "love of the game" has gone too far. I don't cry in my Cheerios every morning because this game was abandoned. Nor do I lose any sleep over it. It's a shame, to be sure, but life is filled with disappointment.

Disney Star Wars .
And? That never runed 4, 5 or 6, nor did Lucas' own prequels ruin 4, 5, or 6. I gave 7 a chance, then gave 8 one more chance, then stopped watching because I didn't like it; doesn't mean that ruined what came before. Hell, there are probably some people who actually like the new Star Wars movies. In the end the point is still this, if you don't like it... don't play it; you're not being forced.

Well, I've tried.

You feel the need to answer every single line and pretend to be using logical paradigm. Yet you miss the mark every single time, it's impressive. Even failing to use a logic you described in one part, in another; and ignoring things you said previously.

I'm glad you enjoyed the game though. I did too.
And I also think you are right when you conclude DRG will not be coming back.

Not terribly hard, but sure, you tried.

It's interesting that you try to characterize my actual application of logical principles as "pretending to use logical paradigm." Since we're talking about forms of logic and logical fallacies, I'll point out that this attempt to call my logic into question without actually addressing any of my arguments is another type of fallacy, known as the ad hominem attack.

Miss the mark how? Any specific examples? Anyone who can read and write English should be able to see that each of my replies directly connects to the part of your post which I was addressing.

Also, you claim that I'm inconsistent in my use of logic. Care to illustrate what you mean? Which part of my post is inconsistent with which other part of my post, and in what way?

I'm glad you enjoyed the game though. I did too.
And I also think you are right when you conclude DRG will not be coming back.
I would have enjoyed it more if he had finished it, of course, but I'm sure that we all feel the same way about that.

If you mean 'not terribly hard' as in 'not for very long' then yes. I like to help people but I've learned to recognise when it's not worth wasting time.

So I won't go further in detail but as you clearly like to read, you should read more about those useful tools you know about.
Maybe one last tiny pointer on your last reply rather than the one before, see if you can pick this one up and good luck after that.

You dismiss quickly a statement as being without argument, whilst ignoring the explanations that follow. Then go on to call my logic into question without addressing any of those (ignored) arguments, but only asking questions....

All the best.

No, I meant "not terribly hard" as in, you didn't put much effort into it. You haven't made any attempt to directly address any of the points which I've raised. And as for "not worth wasting time," that's not even remotely believable. You've taken the time to reply to me three times already. You just haven't tried to debate my points logically. So it isn't a question of how much time it's worth to you. It's a question of your ability or willingness to engage in reasoned debate.

So I won't go further in detail but as you clearly like to read, you should read more about those useful tools you know about.

You seem to think that a generally condescending tone is somehow a substitute for logic. That's not surprising, though. I've found over the years that a common tactic for people who know that they can't win a logical argument is to use mockery and scorn as substitutes for reasoning.

Which arguments of yours did I ignore? Be specific. Spell out the arguments which you advanced to which I didn't respond. This is another tactic, called deflection, in which you accuse the other person of doing the things which you've already done. You didn't respond to my arguments, and I called you out on it, so now you accuse me of not responding to your arguments.

All the best.
To you, as well.

Holy shit, I didn't notice the VWA's patreon page is finally down. So this is it, one more 2020's victim.
The good news is DRM is alive somewhere as Patreon doesn't just shut pages down since Greyinu's is still up there abandoned as well.

Hey Dynamite Red, I hope you see this any day because I know you were a lurker here at least once since I pointed out the existence of this forum to you. Something changed on you and you gave up the project, but you made a good game after all.
Thanks for this amazing game, you're talented.

LOL, Last comment I made on this game was in 2018.
Felt like I haven't played this in a year, and I feel like almost no real additional content. Glad I don't support this dudes Patreon.
After finding this abandoned I replayed it.

After 2 years nothing really has been added. WOW. I am not surprised though.

Sad because I really did like the concept.

Hey guys!

Since we all are still sad this gem of RPGM game has been abandoned, I accidently stumbled yesterday over https://f95zone.to/threads/high-pressure-demo-v4-steamup.38257/ . It is a RPGM with a steampunk theme and technically on top of RPGMs. Also the devs put some real effort into maps, sprites, etc. and he/they are active in the thread.

I already had some slight feeling this could/can be something in the spririt of Valiant Warrior Astrid and Coceter Chronicles, which were my favourite RPGMs (next to the still active Claire's Quest). And since the dev said VWA and CC were his favourite RPGMs too, and discoverable/random events are also planned (strolling around, finding this or there, getting drunk in the bar, things happen to you, etc.), maybe we will have a worthy successor, although there is not this much content at the moment.

TL;DR
You should really check it out, maybe you have the same feelings about it! Ah, btw, MC is a hot female, drawn, no Daz3D, with black hair, milk white skin and purple eyes ...

We could continue this thread as VWA similar games recommendations as a tribute. Everytime someone remembers to post a good game here, they will have my instant like.

In case no one has recommended it yet, there's this little completed japanese game that really hits all the notes imo for content similar to VWA, and it's pretty well written too. Pregcess of Zeven. For those turned off by pregnancy content, don't worry, there's almost none in the game, as misleading as the name is. And those who want it, the rest of the game made up for my disappointment in its exclusion.

Another game to recommend y'all trying out is Third Crisis. Still in development, but the content already in the game is really really good. it's 2D with animations, a good story, and corruption mechanics I really dig.

Others that are pretty sweet, older and all of you probably know are:
- The Wind's Disciple (Completed)
- Raven's Quest (Ongoing)
(Both by PiXeL Games)
- Noxian Nights (Completed)
- Kingdom of Deception (Ongoing)
(Both by Hreinn Games)
- Goons Raid Her (Ongoing)
(By the Architect)

Among others. these were some I liked most in terms of corruption and content available.

You are awesome guys. Great games suggestions Marlin. I'm glad you took time to write all these games.

Thanks Marlin! Greatly appreciated

It's a shame that Pregcess of Zeven has censorship.

About Third Crisis, I will give it a shot! Thanks
