The game boots from the Kamidori English exe, but it's still in Japanese. What'd I do wrong?

step 9 of the install instructions by the sound of it.

you need to copy all the files in the patch folder (not the folder itself) and paste them into C:\Program Files (x86)\Eushully\神採りアルケミーマイスター

UPDATE: I have resolved this issue, it seems to be a problem with AMD Raedon. See my new post here: https://f95zone.to/threads/kamidori-alchemy-meister-eushully.635/post-8289544

Alright, so I doubt too many browse this thread anymore and even less would bother assisting with an issue like this. But since I'm desperate: I've played this game a bit here and there for years, and wanted to finally go through and 100% it all. Except, now I'm having an issue with this game that I don't remember having in the past, and I can't find a solution to it or even really seeing it mentioned anywhere. During the game, seemingly randomly, the entire game will suffer from massive slowdown. It'll run fine for a bit when starting it up, sometimes it'll even run fine for hours. Other times it'll suddenly have a near unplayable amount of slowdown. Clicks won't register most of the time, it'll delay registering when my cursor is hovered over something, visuals and animations look like they're in a slideshow, just the whole thing starts chugging. I was playing it a bit ago just fine, and now suddenly this. I don't understand it, nothing I have tried has had any effect on the issue. My PC is far more than capable of running this game, so there shouldn't be any issue there. I didn't change the install location, I didn't attempt to modify the game in any way, I followed every installation instruction to a T (yes, running every step as admin as well), the only potentially "odd" thing I've done that I can think might be causing this is I am using the save data from post #46 in this thread. (I'm not even using an actual save file from it, I just got it for the clear data so I could start a "fresh" new game with the NG+ quests and whatnot added so everything would be available to me.)

Things I have tried: Running as Admin, running with all sorts of different compatibility settings, installing the k-lite codecs, my system is set to Japanese locale / never had any issues with that sort of thing that in any game, I tried getting the game from a different source / reinstalling everything in case there was some sort of issue there or maybe a corrupted file (which did nothing), I tried turning off all the animations since that apparently causes some people issues, updating drivers, aaand... Probably something else that I just can't think of at the moment.

It doesn't crash, it doesn't hang, I don't have any text problems, nothing like that. It just runs slowly. I can reproduce the slowdown 100% of the time on my attached save file simply by going to the Training Ground in the Mines. It'll be fine for roughly five seconds before the slowdown kicks in. (You can just drag your cursor around on the blue movement spaces and you'll notice the difference immediately when it happens, assuming that the slowdown is related to the save data and not something else on my end.) I've had the slowdown happen at other random points too, like by browsing the quest log in the shop, or just being in the shop. It's odd because while all these things can cause the slowdown, it doesn't always the slowdown. I've gone to the Training Ground just a bit before that save and had no issue there either, but with that file if I go there it happens 100% of the time. It's like what causes it changes as I play.

If any noble passersby happens to have any clue what is happening here, I would love your input because I am at a complete loss. Actually, even if someone who doesn't have a clue what is happening here, but also has played through the game without any such issues could take my save data and try to reproduce the slowdown by going to the Training Grounds and waiting for a few seconds (any character will do, I just grabbed Wil or Uya) and report back, that would be very helpful as well since I'll at least know that's where the issue is and can start with a clean save rather than progress even further with a broken one.

Edit: Additional discoveries. The slowdown only occurs when entering the Training Ground in Windowed. It does not occur when entering in Full Screen. Entering the Training Ground in Full Screen then changing to Windowed prevents the slowdown from occuring. Entering the Training Ground in Windowed then changing to Full Screen ~removes~ the slowdown. (Changing back to Windowed from there causes no further slowdown.) I can reproduce all of these results 100% on my end. Hell if I know. At least it's maybe a workaround to this problem if anyone else happens to have a similar issue in the future. (I'd still like to know if it's my save data that's causing the problem somehow though!)

How does the KAM helper cheat work? it only shows information and doesn't change anything

Edit: it seems to change some things but a lot of items have like "azure fruit: -9700135135" but things that are 0 can be changed like treasures
Anyone know a cheat for materials, the helper kinda works but the numbers shown are like -653654384 and I think a lot of the materials are not there

Keys you get by crafting. The Gold Key requires items that you can't get in a first playthrough. Need New Game + for that.

The other two keys require items from chapter 4 (IIRC) and chapter 6 (5 if on Emelita route, IIRC).

As for route selection. You get two questions (one for Yuela, one for Serawi). Pretty self-explanatory. Yuela > Serawi > Emelita. So if you want to play the Serawi route, you must avoid picking the Yuela scene. If you want the Emelita route, you must avoid picking the Serawi AND Yuela scene. But it is really straightforward.

Welp, the tool is as ready as it's going to get for public consumption. I've created a github repo that I'll start using for my f95 stuff. The tool is here, have fun with it:

What it does do:
- There are 10 tabs full of information (Items, Mobs, Weapons, Furniture, Accessories, Skills, Quests, Arena, Areas and Classes).
- The information is all connected, so if you click on an item it'll give you every detail about that item that you can find on the wiki, without all the page hopping (ie: clicking on Azure Stone tells me: it's dropped by Undine, Ankloshell, Rusalka.. it's used to craft Charcoal Catalyst, Fire Buckets, Magic Creatures .. you can harvest it from the Blue Crystal Cave yard item, it can not be crafted, and it can not be harvested or mined from any dungeons).
- If you double click in quite a few areas, it'll take you to the appropriate location to see the details about that object. For example, double clicking on "Ankloshell" on the items tab takes me to the Mobs tab and shows me details about Ankloshell.
- Almost every tab has filtering of some kind, and where it doesn't I give you an 'advanced' tab where all of the information can be sorted in various ways (no brainer: click column headers and it sorts).
- If you run the program with a -e argument, it will output the database to a json file. This file can be used to build your own tool or do whatever you want to do with it. Also, if you find a typo and want to fix it, the program first checks for that output.json file instead of loading the internal database. So... fix it in the output.json file and it'll be fixed in the program.
- Quite a bit more that I'm not going to mention.

What it does not do:
- Correct typos found on the wiki (you won't believe how many items have inconsistent names between the various pages.. I fixed it where I could). This could be a reason for a detail that isn't showing up (ie: if something isn't showing that it drops in some location but you KNOW it does... it was probably a typo on the wiki).
- It does not touch the Clothes at all. Whomever formatted that wiki page can jump off a cliff. After reading it I'm more confused than I was before I started.
- It does not guess. Something obvious to a human simply isn't obvious to software. You have to tell it in exact terms, or tell it how to figure that information out on its own.
- It doesn't do much error checking at all, so if it works fine for a while and then crashes just restart and you'll be fine.

With all that said... as I stated above, I'm done working on this. I'm getting back to playing the game. Because of this, I am not offering support at this time. You WILL need .Net framework 4.5 to run it. If you need that, a simple google search will get you to Microsoft's website so you can download it. If you get an error before the program even fully loads, it's probably because of your framework.. so installing a fresh copy might fix it (in other words: CHECK YOUR FRAMEWORK FIRST).

And after 4 long days.... I can now have fun.

Link again for anyone who might have missed it at the top:
I know you haven't been active on this page in quite some time, but I can't figure out what's wrong here.

I am looking for a little guidance with KAM helper. I remember using it when I started playing this game a couple years ago and it working perfectly. It no longer works as I believe you intended it to though. I have attached some pictures of what is going on with it and will try and explain more. I am running windows 10 with .net framework 4.8. My computer is obviously set to the Japanese locale and the download I used was from the OP in this thread.

I am running KAM in admin mode, so I run the program in admin mode as well. As long as what I am trying to give myself does not fall (in game) into the "Item" category it seems to work. For instance, Azure Fruit, Potions, or anything else that falls into the Item category (in game) does not work.

I have not nailed down exactly what prompts the error to pop up either. It seems to be after I click on a few different things under the "Item" tab in KAM helper. It also gives very odd readouts of what is in my inventory as shown in the other picture I posted.

If you would like to read the entire error it displays I would DM it to you, however you have limited your profile and I am unable to do so currently.

My less than educated guess on this is that when .net Framework got updated it disrupted how KAM helper reads the save file in some way. I do not know anything about programming, nor does there seem to be a reliable way to roll .net Framework back to 4.5 that I have found. If you have any ideas, suggestions, tips, or tricks that you would like me to try I would be happy to. Thanks for your time!

The error in that image is going to stem from invalidly reading memory, as is evident in the first image (the huge negative numbers are a give-away). The .net version isn't an issue in this error -- really you'll only see the .net version being an issue at the startup of the application. My tool also doesn't care about locale, so that's not it. You only need to run it with admin rights if you're planning on changing things in memory, not reading - so that's not it. My current thought process is that Windows 10 has somehow limited how and what is able to read the memory of another process, though it's just a theory. The reason I'm not certain of this is because I'm not sure what version of windows you were using previously. It appears that Windows 8.1 introduced a "feature" which would've prohibited my tool from working on it (and there's nothing you can do as a user to allow my tool to bypass that protection). If you were running 8.1 previously and it's not working on Windows 10 now, I'd be completely lost as to a cause. Running Windows 7 it should've been fine (and was for me - I never used 8.1). I think no matter the underlying issue, it's going to be at the OS level. The game didn't change, and my tool hasn't changed... but Windows has. As for how you might get it to work, I'm not sure. You can try running it in Compatibility Mode set to Windows 7 - if it works let me know. Outside of that I'm afraid I couldn't offer much assistance. I tried to run the game so I could dig into it deeper, but I can't even run the game for whatever reason - something about a version mismatch *shrug*.

Edit: Also, my profile is set to allow members to start a conversation with me, so it's weird that you couldn't. Perhaps what I think "members" are (registered users) is different from what is truthful.
