Did 1 playthrough but not too sure how to activate read mode anymore.
They asked me at the beginning of starting game but after selecting normal gameplay, I dont get asked that question anymore, even if I try to start new game

25 March 2024: Some dialog bugs were brought to my attention, and I've fixed those for this and future versions. The updated mod is posted below. (Note: If you've already finished Ep 12 there's no need to download again as these are strictly text and grammar changes.)

7 March 2024: The mod is updated for episode 12. Enjoy!

EDIT: Just discovered a textual bug, and a reported code bug was fixed. If you downloaded the previous Mod v1.0 or 1.1 download the updated Mod v1.2 below

(It should go without saying, but this mod will not work with any of the mods released by others here.)

Get it at Mega:

Click the spoiler at the bottom of this post for previous versions of the mod.

This mod is an "ipatch" and walkthrough with some grammar correction, and minor adjustments (to the positive) in points awarded or lost.

NOTE: I only edit the "Game Mode" files, NOT the "Read Mode" files (romantic/rude path files).
So, if you start a new game, be sure to choose Game Mode.
If you load an existing save, it has to be one that started in Game Mode.

Please let me know if you get any errors on that specific route through the game. Enjoy!

NOTE: If you get an error at startup that mentions variables defined twice... just click the "Reload" button on-screen, that should clear the error.

Spoiler below is for game versions prior to 12

Hey! I rewrote major parts of the updates up to 0.2 to make it more intelligible and flow better. So anything up to the end of Day 3. I'm no longer a writer of this game. I'm doing some writing on another game :) That'll soon pop up sometime in the future I hope :D
My role in the new game is much more involved than even this one. Have a nice day! I was happy with my writing in this game though.
I publicly acknowledge that I love your enthusiasm and truly appreciate your involvement in extending my 380k character script full of milestone events lacking scenes in-between to make a game of proper length and pace, but some time in the future is still some time in the future, so no advertising please! lol

Put together a combination ipatch/Walkthrough but I highlighted almost all the same choices you'd get if you play using the "Read Mode". This way gives you the "Choice Mode" or w/e it's called so other menu choices appear if you want to see them or choose them. You can wander off the choice(s) I show in green, but if you do there may not be any highlighting. This mod shouldn't throw errors at least, but there are parts of the script I didn't go through to make the highlights, still working on that, so this is v1.0 and will try to complete it this weekend and update here.

Made two (I think) changes to points, and corrected some grammar, punctuation, etc.

It's frankly a rough first try by me at something done from just the source files, but give it a shot if you wish. Worse comes to worst, you can just delete the two .rpy files the mod adds, and their same-named .rpyc files.
So I started a new game (I got an error almost immediately on my old save; mod related as the error didn't manifest when mod is removed) and no choices are highlighted in said new game despite having your mod installed. Think something went awry.

Hmm.... Let me try a fresh start and check.

But you did choose "Game Mode" when you started the new game, right?

EDIT: I just restarted and proceeded to the first place that had a choice menu, and it works for me:

Just so we're on the same page...

1) You installed the game fresh, you didn't merge it into an old version.
2) You put the two files from my mod, into the game's folder named "game".
3) Started a new game, chose "Game Mode".

Correct?

Yes on all counts. The only difference I can see is I opted to see the stats on screen. I have also attached the traceback I got from loading a previous save.

Edit: Yes I have URM installed. Didn't the first time around when I had issues though. Swapped over to it when this one didn't work for me.

As long as you keep the wincest flowing...
I'll keep that in mind. My partner is kind of against it. But I'll keep at it :)

I don't know who you are! Leave me alone! I'm working with another person NOT named Doe. Besides, I'm under good authority that my writing has done a LOT to screw over this "Not-Doe" person. Just told me yesterday that I made a mess of his script. :p

No house calls either, you've been warned O_O

Well, I'm baffled then. It's working fine for me, on PC at least.

Open my scripts.rpy file with Notepad++ or similar code editor. Lines 17, 18, and 19 should be:

define gr = "{color=#0f0}"
define red = "{color=#f00}"
define pink = "{color=#e062c5}"

Your traceback said that 'gr' is not defined, but... it is.

Try this. Open the day05script2b_1.rpy from your ./game folder and right at the top of the file, add those 3 lines above, then save.

Does that fix it?
