The game is not abandoned Inkalicious is still working on it but, sadly, not full time and mods put the abandoned tag following the site rules, even if he give news about it.
Given is highly irregular schedule of work, he couldn't give an ETA for the next release update ( he showed screens of what he's working on for the next chapter some pages ago), once it will be ready he will post it for everyone patrons and non patrons.

They probably meant an update to the current game rather than an actual sequel tbh. English clearly isn't their first language.
Of course I wait for the sequel with impacience and I even started to produce it for me in French and its already the third game that I love that and abandoned so decu.
