Since the developer seems either unwilling or unable to complete the game, I doubt he wants to work on a remaster of it.

If the developer were to actually pull something like that, he would immediately lose my support. You don't lead someone on a 1000-mile trek and then go back to square one when you've reached milepost #999.

There's literally one update remaining. So if he does return, I can't imagine he won't finish off the game before doing anything else. Last I heard he had health issues, so maybe he'll finish it off at some time in the future? There have been other games that were supposedly abandoned on this site, that subsequently resumed after a gap of several years. So hopefully this will be one of those?

Yeah, the graphics are certainly outdated. But bearing in mind, that the Dev has kind of disappeared off the face of the earth, and there is only one update remaining with the endings to the game, that most people are interested in. That's not really a very big priority is it? We just want the Dev to come back for a month or two, to finish off this game. In his last post, he claimed he'd already completed over half of the final update when he got sick, so it shouldn't take too long to finish it off?

If that's the case, then why are you actually here? Do you just like being negative and slagging people off?

I often criticise certain aspects of games that I enjoy playing, because they're unrealistic. Not because I want to say this game is complete crap, and everyone should give it a wide berth. But because I want to give the Dev some feedback that will hopefully help him to improve his game. I only ever comment on games that I've enjoyed playing in some way. Because if I don't enjoy a game at all, I usually don't want to waste another minute of my time on it. So I just don't understand people who obviously don't enjoy these games at all. Playing them apparently, simply because they want to rip them to shreds afterwards.

These games are made often by people in their spare time, simply for pleasure and to share that pleasure with others. They don't claim to be perfect or works of art. Many Devs know that they have limitations when it comes to storytelling and the technical aspects of creating games. They never claimed otherwise. And for most of them, the main motivation isn't to make money, but to create something they enjoy and share that with others of like mind.

It's possible to enjoy these games for what they are, simply because what the Dev is trying to achieve is a scenario that you enjoy. Yeah as I play, I can see a lot of things that you and others claim is wrong with it. But it doesn't matter because I enjoy the subject matter so much, I can overlook that and correct it in my mind, as I immerse myself in the game.

I also think that being overly critical of a game like this in the eleventh hour, is utterly pointless. Because nothing is going to be changed by it. The time to be critical has come and gone, and anyone who gave this an ounce of thought would realise that. There is only one thing left to be done with this game, and that's for the final update to be released, so those of us who have enjoyed playing it can have the endings we desire

Then you are doing a disservice. If you aren't critical and only praise, you set the bar lower for not only this dev, but future devs as well.
I'm not saying the game is utter crap, just that the dev REALLY really needs to get some better social experience at the very least. Women do not talk that way, act that way, or enjoy the things he says... at least not ANY woman I've ever met. I've been married twice and both of my wives would have laughed their asses off at how infantile the dialogue is and how badly women's desires were actually represented in this game.
There is a saying in writing that men can't write female protagonists right, and while that is mostly untrue, it does take a certain insight and experience with women to do so... It is glaringly obvious in Elena's life that the dev suffers from this very same issue.
The game is a fun mindless romp, but you can only suspend disbelief so long before you just can'[t finish it or put it down for long periods of time. Hence my problem. I come back after some time, play a bit more, shake my head and put it down for a long time again. Only game with this much content that has taken me years to run through without even completing it once.
On the plus side of things, the character models are great... pictures being dated is fine... it's still better than Honey select imo. I would love to see this game redone by the same dev with more life experience under his belt, and a lot less meme quality fetishizing.

If you read my response properly, you'd see I never claimed there was nothing wrong with the game. I just don't see the point making criticisms about stuff that has zero chance of ever being altered. The Dev is struggling to even complete the final update. So suggesting he go back and overhaul the entire game is just totally unrealistic.

In your original comment, you didn't say anything positive about the game and seemed to imply that anybody who enjoyed playing this game was a complete moron. If you make totally negative statements about things that other people get enjoyment from, then don't be surprised if those people end up judging you negatively

I also will not add to an echo chamber of praise where I don't think praise is deserved. If you only want positive comments, you will foster crap design among other devs looking to copy it. Negative comments when presented can be as constructive as what you seem to think are constructive. I was and am still only criticizing an aspect of the game (Dialogue and female character writing), not everything about it. Now it could be he's still ill, or he hasn't got the time, he's lost interest or he's depressed. I don't know. But what I do know, is that implying that his product is crap, that he's clueless about sex, and his game needs a total overhaul to be even half decent, is not going to inspire him to take up the mantle again. I don't really care how imperfect this game is. All I know is I've enjoyed playing it, and I want it to be finished. And if praising the Dev a little gets him back in the saddle, then that's what I'm going to do.

Now it could be he's still ill, or he hasn't got the time, he's lost interest or he's depressed. I don't know. But what I do know, is that implying that his product is crap, that he's clueless about sex, and his game needs a total overhaul to be even half decent, is not going to inspire him to take up the mantle again. I don't really care how imperfect this game is. All I know is I've enjoyed playing it, and I want it to be finished. The thing you need to realize is that whatever you think, or whatever you write here, is unlikely to have one scintilla of effect on the future of this game. We have been waiting for over a year for the developer to complete the final epilogue. We don't even know if he's still amongst the living! If the developer does manage to return to the game, it won't be to rewrite it to your (or anyone else's) satisfaction. Don Quixote had more effect on the windmill than you are having here.

So, criticize away, if you believe your time is well spent in doing so.
