"Too bad"?

I'd say it's just right.

There's multiple perspectives at play in this game, with 10 endings and characters behaving differently across most of them. It's an engrossing and unique experience, not just from the daughter's perspective (or benefit).
Yeah, too bad, as in I don't enjoy chasing dick. If I want to watch various people fuck, I'll watch porn. I play these games to have a long engrossing experience from a personal perspective and from my personal perspective, I don't like chasing dick.

I'm sure you're a manly man and all, but this game isn't about "chasing dick" but instead about the larger storylines and multiple endings. You control the female protagnist's choices, but it turns out you are also controlling the actions of other characters, too. All characters have interests in the different plotlines, some more than others and even the daughter character gets into situations beyond your ability to help her at times.

I don't care if you don't feel like playing, but for the sake of others coming into this thread I didn't want this misrepresentation to give anyone a narrow impression of the gameplay - it's really unique and anyone else inclined to check things out shouldn't feel discouraged.

Well thanks for the confirmation of my manhood, I feel so much better about myself. I am merely telling you that when I play a game, I get into character and view the story through the protagonists point of view. I don't look at it from a top down perspective of trying to make various things happen for multiple people. So, in essence, because of the way I 'play' one of these games in my mind, female protagonists usually end up chasing dick or it is forced on them and that is something I do not enjoy.

Also, I never tried to give the impression that the gameplay is narrow. On the contrary, the way I play these games are narrow and that's not going to ever change for me. I don't detach myself from the protagonist's perspective like others may.

So in essence, you came here to proclaim that you don't like games where a female character is (at least one) lead because that will force you to eventually "chase dick" in one fashion or another - just so we all know.

Thanks for that public service announcement!

Here's my crunched version.

Image/audio/video quality is reduced to make shit smaller. This is not a perfect process and sometimes can break a game. You've been warned so no bitching.

Its amazing how many negative posts on this thread from people that clearly not played game passing judgement. I almost missed this gem because of all the negativity. The clever layering of story and balancing the relationships of all the characters made it a fun game to play and the true ending left you thinking how much was subconscious and how much was supernatural. I even loved how the drama and supernatural was introduced very early on but clever misdirection made me overlook importance until much later. A really well crafted game.

So it is impossible for a man to see a story from a female perspective? Does this mean you can't play harem games because you not a manwhore? That you wont play RPG because you not a swordsman or magic user? So I guess we better get all the game makers to make protagonists middle age white males with boring jobs and a ton of debt an ex wife and inability to get laid at all.

A good story or game is about escapism and any character that well written is relatable regardless of age, sex, race or religion.

No, I play RPGs all the time. Been playing table top RPGs for over 30 years. The point, which you missed entirely, is that I'm not interested in playing the role where I'm 'chasing dick'. You may enjoy imagining yourself sucking off some dude or getting pounded. That's your prerogative. I don't. I didn't intend to go into details about why I don't like female protag games unless they are pure lesbian. But you all had to keep harassing me about it. You couldn't have just left it alone. Instead you felt compelled to denigrate me over it. So yeah, I don't like imagining myself being fucked by other dudes. I get it, you do. Have fun.

I doubt that any straight male that plays games with female protagonists plays them as "role" (as being them).

It's more like watching the story with girl and guiding her to do sleazy choices for good sex scenes.

Yeah that is the reason I rarely if ever play female protag, the immersion part does not work for me either :p and if I do play god I dislike to be forced to force nice innocent girls into sleazy choices and get abused or raped by douchebags as the all present harvey weinstein clone, bbc gangsta playa and other sleazy prototypes or be blue-balled all game.:ROFLMAO::LOL:

I didn't miss your point. The point I trying to make is you dont have to be exactly like character you playing to relate and no matter what character there are things we will never be able to relate to because we simply don't have life experiences necessary. I don't really want to know what been hacked by an axe caving in my chest feels like so I disassociate from that part of story, its same with sex when playing a female MC I just disassociate and jump perspective. I not going to lie and say that there haven't been scenes that made me real uncomfortable playing female MC to point I had to skip scenes. It has never stopped me enjoying a game though.

On the other hand, some of us have an imagination and enjoy being immersed in the character(s) we're following ... building our empathy for their positions and motivations.

We do this all the time when watching cartoons with lovable robots (e.g., Wall-E), anthropomorphic creatures (e.g., Zootopia) and so forth. I see no difference in playing the role of a female character fully and with best attempt at virtually being their motivator/director when that makes sense. We get into their "heads" and feel with them, not just for them - we want them to succeed as if we were them and wanted the best outcome.

Part of the love I have for this game is that each storyline option is due entirely to choices which determine the personality of the people you can control and those you can only hope to affect + those you can't impress at all. That forces you to take an active consideration for your playable character(s) and can immerse you more into the storylines that come from your decisions, making you consider cause + effect throughout the game.

I find it more difficult to play fighting games because I don't like being the character inflicting all this mindless violence for the sake of such. Sometimes the storyline gives it a sense and purpose, which is better, but the be-all-you-can-be-a-killing-machine games don't engender much empathy from me. Still, it's all fantasy so I can also just play them and disassociate for the sake of mindless hand-eye coordination exercises.

I have absolutely no problems taking on a temporary role as another gender for gameplay - I care more about the personality being worked, not the gender itself (which helps inform some things, certainly). I played as a gay anthropomorphic protagonist in a futuristic game and found it fun overall, but it didn't challenge or change my real-world sexual orientation or actual humanity :) .

Very well said.

EDIT Especially consequences. I was happy with Mothers bad ending until much later in game when I realised just how much influence MC had just with extended conversations and realised I had probably totally broken the mother,

Well... that too, like playing Blue route in Good Girl Gone Bad.

And then do sluttiest version of Red route just for the heck of it.

The tag says ntr but I haven't encountered with it
If you have the walkthrough, I believe it's the "Trading Lovers" path aka "Ending 10." It's been awhile since I played, but there is a path where Daughter's best friend ends up with Daddy.
