Requesting Hair "Resources/Books/Etc"!.

Is there any pdf's, cheatcharts, or some books i can download that is used to show howto make different hair styles?
Something stylists/barbers etc use in real life perhaps, "learning book etc"..
I need like a dummy's guide to hair styles :p

Yt & Goofle isn't really helpful.. i find a lot of video that is like, here is how you make hair..
then shows how to apply hair. and plays around a bit with the setting.

I am not talking about how to make hair in 3D in general, i know how this process works.
I am just not very good at it, I am trying to make some hair in c4d, and i really suck at it.

I decided to use a some Daz Hair as a reference to see how hairs where built up.
I spent like a week++ on writing up a script that de-compiles the mesh from a Daz3D hair into single hair strands.
Then merge each hair layer/mesh layer, into a spline that i can use as hair guides in C4D for the native hair system.
Hey.. why do manual work that will take a day at most when you instead can spend a weeks on a script :D
I don't want to look at this script ever again lol..

The more i look at my result, i realize i need to spend way more time on this.
But i am just getting started. I have never used the hair system before besides to make Grass.
I also realize the Daz hair i used as a reference looks bad the more i look at it lol.

The Light Blueish is the Daz Hair.

So many settings to tweak :D

Making hair styles in C4D is more of a natural thing. you basically have a set of stylist/barer tools.
Many of these is a "multi-tool" so to speak. so in c4d you're not working with "mesh strips" or cards whatever you call it.
but rather with hair guides or tips or roots or points or vertices depends on what to edit..

Anyway. if anyone has some sort of resources on howto make hair styles i appreciate it.
I found stuff like this. and of this sort i am interested in.
I can currently make two styles.. This and something so awfull ,that its not worth showing it here for your safety..
you'll rip your eye out..

Does anyone know what outfit this is?

There also is a render showing it from the front. Looks like some kind of video game conversion.

If a reverse image search doesn't help (click on the camera icon on the google frontpage) you could look through the "Celebrit Digital" category on shadowcore

Switched to eevee. Still don't see it. I can't believe I'm stuck at eyelashes. Tried all youtube clips, none of which resolved the concern. :cry:
Pretty sure You need Cycles for that one. At least for those clipping options.
I also think you might still be using UDIM versions of the images, which Blender can't seem to use. If so, I would open those in photoshop or something, and save as something else.

If only I have the G8/V8 version of the asset model. I've scoured everywhere, I'm out of options. This seriously can't be this difficult to make the lashes visible?

It's not the model, but the texture. Some of the Daz assets save as a UDIM version of the image (no clue how or why, or even what that is), but when you import it into blender, it just can't read it correctly, comes out like noise. When I tested it, I had to convert that image before blender could use it.

I dont think this is a issue with blender. from the quick looks of it.. it seem like blender can do udim just fine.
"I am just basing this statement on a YT video i saw"

Its how the names get exported from Daz, they are a mess and i bet you it confuses Blender.
Here is now the textures are named after i do export with the bridge.
Dont ask me wtf is going on with the double extensions.. result of the bridge.

explorer_T6UNxnKXkh.png

Here you should rename..
G8FBaseFaceMapD_1001.png -> G8FBaseMapD_1001.png
G8FBaseTorsoMapD_1002.png -> G8FBaseMapD_1002.png

So on.. this need to be done for all the maps/channel
G8FBaseFaceMapB_1001.png -> G8FBaseMapB_1001.png

The textures can also be found by using daz itself by poking around in Surfaces tab.
Depending on the model. for a G8.1 they should be in.
C:\Users\USER\Documents\DAZ 3D\Studio\My Library\Runtime\Textures\DAZ\Characters\Genesis8_1\FemaleBase
Here you will also notice the textures are named a bit different than what i get with the bridge.
but renaming is still required.

Having the naming properly done is very important for c4d. else it will not work properly, i bet the same case apply for Blender.

Also there are two types of "magic" that can be used with materials/textures. you have
I hate em both :p
Why. forexample you have 4 images. and you set a mat up for udim.. and you realize you need to do some color correction on image 3 in the material iteself...
welcome to node spaghetti.
