Stage two was released in January, besides that Chaotic released a mini spinoff of Leanna and has otherwise been jerking everyone off in the weekly updates as to "what he's planning on working on next". And dsp hasn't even popped in to say hi. I don't know how they get off expecting people to subscribe for $20 a month.

We don't know how many subscribers are still there.
I hope very few...

As far as I'm concerned, a dev can take as long as they want to put out content. What I do have a huge problem with is when they make such a huge deal about making elaborate release plans and release dates, with weekly updates and whatever else, and then simply decide to shit on all that.

But let's recap what exactly happened here.

This "series" was announced in October by DSP, who at the time was considered one of the most consistent developers of these HTML games. Then he announced a poll to have the fans decide how it would be released. After the option to release 4 parts over 4 months obviously won because people are stupid and impatient, he announced the grand plan to release episode 1 in December, and then one episode a month until March or April depending on delays.

Either episode one was such a letdown that it turned the whole plan sideways, upside down, and shook it all around, or DSP simply didn't want to stick to his original plan and changed everything deciding to split parts 2, 3 and 4 into just two parts. I can't even begin to imagine how shit episode 2 would've been if it hadn't been stretched like that. That Alexia scene redeemed the whole thing.

But now it's way over a month after the whole thing should've been over and the dev is nowhere to be found. Imagine if he decides to quit, leaving both this and the academy unfinished. All over a stupid spinoff that wasn't even well received.

Well dsp was kinda hurt to discover this thread, maybe that's what burned him out? With chaotic also burned out (like he said himself) that doesn't bode well for new content in 2018. What's even actually left? The final episode of that underwhelming Academy spin-off in June probably, Photographer 3 in August if it goes as planned and if we're lucky Academy 5 in December and chaotic's next project at the end of the year as well.

He had already disappeared for like 6 months or something between the most recent Academy episode and announcing date with bridgette, so saying he was consistent might be a bit of an exaggeration. I honestly doubt he'll finish Academy at this point, it's been drawn out so long and the original plan of it ending with ep 5 isn't even going to happen anymore last I remember (since he set up an event that would be happening on saturday i.e. episode 6).

dsp3000 is disappeared.
chaotic is desperate: same topic, same post by the same users.
BUAHUAHUAHUAHUAH!
Yep. Didnt you know? This whole thread exists in order to bash the developers and whine about how they wont create more games so that certain spoiled ungrateful brats can get for free.
It has little or nothing to do with commenting anything relevant to the actual game in the OP.

And posts like the following prove it:
What spinoff ?
The irony of forgetting that this game (A Date with Bridgette) even exists, is hilarious.

But I guess I must be the bad guy here, for daring to call people out on their bs, and wanting some actual discussion of the content of the game.

Sorry.

I never understood those who rejoice over the failure of those who do something.
I know what I'm going to say is too simplistic and over-generalizes the issue, but for the most part, people who get satisfaction out of others misery, are dealing with a lack of fulfilment or a sense of inadequacies in their own lives. Being able to take pleasure in the misfortunes of others, gives the person a false sense of superiority to the person suffering.

As I said, this is overly simplistic and I'm sure doesn't cover everyone who takes pleasure in watching failure, but what it gives me is a sense of sympathy to the haters. I wonder what it is about their own lives that is so unsatisfactory...

@supermanz95 - Chill out. Any more posts like the last one will be deleted without notice. You need to word it better instead of making it sound like an attack.
I've been a member of vdategames a loong time ago back when the Sci Fi series came out. Chaotic is usually fairly consistent. I don't know about the other members of his team. Now, I don't recall who the others are right now. I do like DSP3000's artwork and he has been consistent to a point. It's normal to see some fluctuations as time goes on. But I'm hoping that DSP3000 is just putting his head into the game and writing/rendering. There was time where he popped up a week before the game's release after weeks of no response and then released the game on time. I hope that's the case but you never know.
What I generally do is hope for the best but prepare for the worst. We'll see what happens.

hm, most ppl hate on the spinoff. for my part i don't think it's bad and the orginal 4 months delay of the acadamy due to the spinoff wouldn't have been a long time. but meh, the projekt and vdate are probably dead already

edit: my first post, hello, i am a lurker, on a whim i dediced to post something^^

According to Chaotic, he's willing to finish DwB and the Academy, if DSP3000 doesn't show up for good. I don't know if it'a good idea though.

I really dont understand why you guys feel the need to speculate and obsess about this.
Are there no other games on F95?

Just play other games, and when (or IF) this is updated at some point, you will know.
As long as you keep an eye on it, you'll get it.

Basically, just what said: Chill out.
