You nailed it! I want the writer of Dual Family to give me back all the time I wasted on it.. Like a naïve school girl, I just kept playing hoping that it would "all work out in the end".. I'm pretty sure they wrote it as part of some mandated therapy. The kind that some psychiatrist forces you to do before they'll let you have your shoelaces back.. AWAM on the other hand only upsets me because it doesn't seem to matter how many "naughty" choices you have her make, she just seems to default back to prude except Lesbian tendencies for some reason.. those seem to "stick"

Well see that's where you're mistaken, because DF is clearly not a porn game, it's an Adult Visual Novel. And yes, that distinction is never really made with any clarity on the forums, but the only way to do that would be to make specific tags for that.

I could understand how you can draw that conclusion, but I at no point stated that my dislike of DF had anything to do with the anticipation of porn related activities. My disappointment with it comes from the fact that even when viewed through the lens of a visual novel, it is at it's base depressing as shit. The entire work is downward spiral in which the writer paints a bleak even hopeless picture of domestic life for which there seems cure with only momentary distraction that almost certainly always makes matters somehow worse (if that's possible) It possess none the characteristics that one would hope to see in this type of story, there is no redemption, no light at the end of the tunnel, no reason to empathize with any of the characters. The setup is there, the daughter seems to be written for that purpose, as is the aunt but there is never any follow-through. You're left with a "what's the point?" feeling. If DF was a person, it would wear black makeup and doc martins and listen to falling in reverse or black veil brides

I wasn't trying to pull away from it, but you're right. I was just using their example to make a clarification about how you can't judge a game as bad just because it doesn't follow the "Porn Game" road. This one followed it a little too hard and sacrificed a lot of plot for it.

I didn't mind this game but if envixer got tired of it or whatever, why not just call it abandoned? Oh well... time to move on to other games then!

Version 0.95 is the end of the game. If a version 1 comes out, it will just finalized version.
As far as anyone is aware, the Dev is stopping production of this story and is working on something else now.

As for me, a good porn game doesn't need a lot of monologues or ton of dialogs to be interesting. I played a lot of games with perfects arts and sex scenes, some cool side characters, but those games were incredibly dull because of a ton of texts about pointless crap. Sure, some devs have a talent to write, but not of them. A New Home is a good example: a lot of action without walls of text.

Hey, since the first part of the story is finished, why not go from 0.95 to something like "A New Home Season/Chapter/Episode/Part One version 1.0?"



Hm, it's all a matter of taste I guess, see I'm absolutely on the page with you on Dual Family, but can't agree at all with AWAM.
In AWAM you have constant development, depending on the points you amass the MC will go further and further with what she does or let others do to her. Yes, you can't already fuck half the town, but it's not standing still, it really is building up.
Obviously we don't agree in our general approach, because I love a slow development if done right, but even taking that into account I couldn't just stand idly by, when a game I really enjoy is being compared with the clusterfuck of self adulation that Dual Family has become.

There won't be an update anymore, this one's finished.

The dev mentioned he might do a second episode some time in the future but he's currently working on three other games so that is a looooong ways off....
