Shit, I just realized. I truly hope TLG and his fam are safe and healthy and I hope everything works out.
This is what happens when you fuck with the incest tag too many times. You perverts end up with 17.5 grandmas."My grandmother passed away." (Several fucking times with this one. I mean how many grandmothers you got bud?)
We're all perverts here, bruh. This is what happens when you fuck with the incest tag too many times. You perverts end up with 17.5 grandmas.
So like 90 percent of the f95zone population has more than 10 grandmas...This is what happens when you fuck with the incest tag too many times. You perverts end up with 17.5 grandmas.
I hear ya about this. Eventually the reasons start sounding like excuses, etc. All of those reasons are definitely legit, but for sure eventually things start sounding routine an like the "my dog ate my homework" or "the boy who cried wolf" situations. I hope that isn't the situation here, but I have my thoughts (more on that below). The dev excuse list basically reads:
1) Mental health issues
2) Health issues in general
3) Computer or part of it (GPU) died
4) Someone in their life is ill or died
5) Real job is taking up more time
6) SO or family that suddenly needs more time
7) The dev disappears and rumors of their death begin to circulate.
All of these can be and are serious issues, not making light of any of them - individually.
It's when you see 3-4 or more of these excuses come up as you wait for an update that it starts to feel surreal. You want to give the developer the benefit of the doubt so you think "Man, porn game developers have the worst luck", but after encountering it over and over again you become a bit cynical (or in my case a jaded grouchy asshole who lives in a garbage can).
(I know there are a lot more excuses, I just went with the 7 habits of highly effective devs).
Not the best AVN ever , but this one had plenty of followers for sure (myself included and being the first AVN I got pulled back into the world with). I'm with you: hopefully it's nothing major/serious, and my fingers are crossed. I have my theories and speculation on what could be the deal looking at how sudden things were (again, more on that below).Careful.. your posts will start to be deleted too for being off topic of "the best VN ever" (I'm quoting that I'm not off topic myself :/). At the end of the day let's just hope it's not health related or some other serious issue as the release was scheduled and imminent within days... which actually makes me worried that the dev had/has some serious IRL issue at hand.
FYI: Took me out of context... that was written/quoted to protect the post from being removed like the others. Although now this very one I'm writing now is apparently subjective :/...Not the best AVN ever , but this one had plenty of followers for sure...
I've blocked plenty of users and turned off notifications, but if it's that bad, time to report the server. Now the discord server's a completely toxic place. Racist, childporn, loli, bdsm nude... appears in every channels after the news about patreon
better do that ASAP, or those toxic will smear tlgI've blocked plenty of users and turned off notifications, but if it's that bad, time to report the server.
I was only going there to see if I could get any news about the game anywaybetter do that ASAP, or those toxic will smear tlg
Braindrop (my favorite postman stepped on dog poo so i'm hurting but have a family to provide for so i won't freeze pledges ever again and you're not getting a release date out of me ever again either)? At least TLG didn't go above and beyond constantly with retarded excuses like: "My dog ate my USB that had all my assets and story on it." or "My grandmother passed away." (Several fucking times with this one. I mean how many grandmothers you got bud?) Oh and let's not forget the old: "I'm working on it! Here's some old renders from chapter one, that I recycled and primped her hair for everyone!"
No. TLG wasn't like any of those shitty devs who just milked their patrons for many months and one that milked for years and is STILL milking with hallucenigenic bs that means nothing.

I mentioned this on the trainwreck of a Discord server only yesterday and again today; however, the more I thought about this, this seems like more of a Patreon issue or something that TLG was notified about and he (or Patreon) pulled the project. A couple of reasons:
As I was just thinking about this, I remembered the fan playlist that was put together on Spotify:
- November 1st is right around the corner and since TLG hadn't changed to Patreon's subscription billing model, all patrons would have been charged on that date. That's a lot of money to leave on the table.
- Copyright issues...perhaps less about assets or renders, but potentially the music.
You must be registered to see the links. If you listen to some of the songs on there, you'll notice there are lyrics, while in-game there are no lyrics/vocals. This leads me to believe that there could have been a DMCA strike or copyright claim at some point, and TLG didn't address it in time or something. Hence the project being pulled either permanently or temporarily.
I know, again I'm speculating, but it seems to be the most logical possibility to me. My hope is we will have some clarity in a few weeks, especially after the 1st of November, but I'm not holding out hope.
Pretty much a very similar thing happened with Chainzero and Connected. He was tweaking the models of his game to "rework" past releases (almost never a good idea for motivation), probably ran in to trouble changing everything, or just lost motivation to rework all the old stuff, and was too far into it just to go back to how it was, which was totally fine all along. Plus, he was having some personal problems with family and depression, he is living at home, and he got in a fight with a family member, and just snapped one day and deleted his entire game. He kept his Patron going though, to still collect money each month. A year later he came back to F95 and told everyone what happened.Or maybe the development didnt go like TLG intended, it was growing a little bit over his head, and he decided "ah fuck this" from one day to the other. It could be just a little error in the code that did bother him or some other issue that he just couldnt solve like he wanted to (ever saw breaking bad, where walter tried to catch the fly in the lab? He pretty much would burn down the whole place just to get that freaking fly). And if you are a person with some mental issues (maybe a bit bi-polar) this can get you over the edge in a instant and you just throw the thing against a wall so to speak and stop everything, pull the plug, shut everything down, and thats it. Maybe he is regretting this right now but cant go back cause he crushed everything or deleted it. Cause its look just like that, that everything is "gone"
yep thats my guess pretty much... something like that happened, and he snapped and throwed everything away.Pretty much a very similar thing happened with Chainzero and Connected. Maybe something like that happened with TLG, where he kept putting off work, while saying it was almost done, and the pressure just built and built until he couldn't take it anymore, and just closed his Petreon, and went offline (as TLG that is). It happens. Not everyone is mature enough to give themselves a break for slacking off (we have all done it), level with the fans, and put their game on hold for awhile, officially.
