As pointed out already, the short story and the game/vn aren't identical. There are many differences:
The most striking one is Anna exclusively cheating on David with Jake several times in the story (3x or 4x times, don't remember exactly until David catches them). Since all the cheating happens with Jake and to some lesser extend also with Alexia, there is no Hank, Marvin, Chris (Chris actually exists but plays no role other than being mentioned as a friend of David) or Mr. Strenstromber and also not the stereotypical black intern bbc or Latino Renaldo.
The latter as a new npc makes no sense anyway, since Jake Ventura having Italian descent, therefore being at least Mediterranean concerning his looks and being a womanizer according to the story is supposed to have almost the exact same qualities as the supposed ones of the Latin Lover. Maybe the skin tone would be slightly different, but that's about it.
Therefore the roles of Jake Ventura and Renaldo would be very much the same, which is absolutely pointless in my book.
Btw in the short story Jake has got a huge dick, so introducing a bbc into the game, which doesn't exist in the story, is just the attempt of Mr_Palmer to split up Jake's special qualities and to assign them to different characters. There is no real need for it in my opinion other than catering to the stereotypical interracial bbc fantasy fans.
Another major difference is Anna not having any Daddy issues in the story. Nothing like that is mentioned and according to the story David and Anna still have got both of their parents.
The told time of the story compared to the game is also much longer. In the story the plot is taking place during a couple of weeks (which makes a lot more sense concerning realism about shaking the very foundations of Anna's and David's so far happy marriage), while in the game it's a lot more rushed/cramped together and supposed to happen during one week only.
There are many more minor changes, too, like Kendra being the one taking the photos of David and Alexia during the clubbing night, instead of Chris.
Also Alexia is a blonde beauty and not dark haired like in the game.
The nightly calls and text messages from Alexia to David in order to make Anna suspicious don't seem to happen in the game.
After her failed attempts to seduce David in the gym, she directly tells Anna, that she's cheating with her husband. A scene which also doesn't seem to happen in the game.
In the end it's speculation, if the game will take the main direction of short story. After all Mr_Palmer is taking his creative freedoms from the original story and he is entitled to do so. One thing is for sure so far, not only Jake will be able to take advantage of Anna.
We most likely will have ending scenes in the aftermath involving some tough decisions involving David and Anna sitting in front of their couple therapist either leading to a break-up or a reconcilement. If it follows the original story it's doubtful that David will have the chance to do some "revenge" cheating as well. In the original story he is the one, who didn't entirely fall for the honey trap Alexia, unlike Anna with Jake.
I hope we will have some scenes in the game featuring David doing naughty things, too, because in the story it felt unfair, that he had to endure it all despite staying faithful most of the time. But so is life: unfair. Anyway I hope Mr_Palmer gives David some action, too.
The original short story is entertaining, but has got its flaws, too, like some logical plot holes and a certain degree of unrealism:
F.e. Anna is drinking wine on several occasions, while still having a baby in need of breastfeeding (no responsible mother would do so, since the alcohol deposits in the mother's milk). Although breastfeeding is never mentioned in the short story, but it is in the game.
It also bothered me, that David never complains or confronts Alexia about the extensive texting and phone calls during the night. We know the motive of Alexia doing it, like being payed for it by Kendra and in order to make Anna suspicious, but David doesn't react at all. Seriously if you're in a relationship and your gf being already suspicious and arguing with you most of the time, wouldn't you tell the other woman to stop calling and texting every night?
All the many scenes of breast-play happening in the story are also not very realistic in my opinion. It's very rare that a woman is actually turned on by a guy doing breast-play. In my experience many, if not most rl women (not all of course) are either indifferent or don't enjoy extensive breast-play at all. The latter are so sensitive concerning their nipples, that they really don't want you to suck, lick, squeeze or slightly bite on their nipples and will stop you from doing so. According to the story Anna has got very sensitive nipples, but still she seems to totally enjoy a guy like Jake doing extensive breast-play again and again, which makes no sense. It's mostly a very male fantasy and not so much a female one. (Which is unfortunate, because I'm a breast lover, not an ass guy.)
Another unrealistic silliness is Anna having one orgasm after another with Jake according to the short story. First of all Jake seems to have a monster cock and it hurts Anna in the beginning. But then her pussy loosens up and she gives in to the pleasure leading to one orgasm after another. This is pure fantasy of course.
Usually too big isn't good (just as too small) and women won't be able to enjoy it (in porn they often take muscle relaxation drugs next to painkillers and lots of lube, because certain scenes are painful for the women). It's also mostly a male fantasy, that a huge cock would drive a woman into joyful oblivion, while the initial pain just needs to be overcome.
I've had a talk with a woman in rl, whose ex had a huge penis (a white guy btw). She said, that she never enjoyed sex with him, because it was painful for her all the time, she just endured it. Furthermore having sex with a stranger for the first time is usually not the totally fulfilling, mind-blowing, ecstatic sex. It's very seldom, that a ons can give you that much sexual pleasure as described in the short story concerning Anna cheating with Jake. It might happen on a rare occasion, but often it takes a few attempts to find out more about each other in bed, until sex is enjoyable for both. However in the originally story Anna is completely blown away by having sex with Jake each and every time with multiple orgasms.
But enough criticism of the original story. After all it's a porn fantasy featuring lots of exaggeration and not something to be taken too seriously.
