For those of us playing the Android port: as usual when a game asks us to customize relations, names, ages ect...the stock keyboard blocks the information that relates to what we're typing in & the NPC's confirmation doesn't match the order of what we typed in this specific game, So here's how to get the customization part correct:

1: MC's 1st name
2: MC's last name
3: Petals last name
4: her relation to you (she's your *friend/niece/ect*)
5: What she calls you (roommate/daddy/ect.)
6: her age

Happy perving >;D

Great game.
Like the premises and the idea of the game so far only having one character. The MC is more an observer and less observed by the player.
It's kind of like the book Gadsby where the author didn't use the letter "E".

Overall, I like it.

Seems a bit rushed. The proportions for the props/scenes seem all over the place. MC comments "legs for days" but not tall enough to use the bathroom mirror. Proportions look odd elsewhere as well suggesting it was rushed. Not a deal breaker by any means, but noticeable.

Really good first release. Just one question the whole story of the game is supposed to happen just during the vaccation or there are plans for it to continue after that?
Hi, Badjourasmix! We do have plans beyond Petal and MCs vacation. Petal has two sisters, Bliss and Moon. Once we're finished with the vacation, we'll switch our focus onto Bliss's story. And after that, Moon. We are still in the early planning phase for Bliss and Moon so we don't have any details to share just yet.

Thank you for enjoying A Petal Among Thorns and we hope you'll be back for the next release.

Great game, glad I found it and gave it a try. Like the dialogue particularly. Only strange bit for me was the swimming pool in the basement, but who cares!

We're going to meet the owner of the cabin, Uncle Chuck, in the next release. He's going to explain a bit more about the cabin, how he afforded it, and we'll learn more about the $500 he charged the MC to use it for the week. We're confident you'll enjoy your interaction with Chuck. He's quite the character!

Thank you for playing.

Question. Given that the incest tag is included and you can pick the relationship.

Any suggestions? what "friend" should be? Or it really does not matter?

Loved the story so far, and a very cute LI. Looking forward to more. Enticed me to check out Avalon which i haven't had the pleasure of reading yet. (y)

Hi, Ayhsel! After spending a few minutes in the game, the titles of the characters should become obvious. You can change the titles at any time in the Preferences menu. We've taken note that many players are confused about the relationship between the MC and Petal so we've decided to make things more clear in the upcoming release. Thank you for playing!

Hi, Burgh917! We're glad to hear you're going to try out Avalon. It's a bit heavier on the drama but rewarding if you persevere. We're still actively working on A Petal Among Thorns, we should see a release in a month or so. Thank you for playing!

Hahah yeah I noticed!! By the way, I played yesterday night so I forgot to post my regular comment.

I really, really like it. The girl is absolutely stunning, very fun to be around and MC is a nice perv.. very light mood novel, specially compared to how Avalon started.

I had really enjoyed Avalon at the moment. However, I did comment in that thread how Penny (which I really like in the beginning) end up trivializing the novel. I mentioned this, as I think Lockheart is a very talented dev. But killing conflict soo soon in the novel essentially killed Avalon for me. No matter what was going to happen, I knew Penny would fix it.

So far this novel has just started, and given the type of content it is, usually conflict comes from the standard "this is taboo" and the fact that you kind of need to corrupt the girl and MC accept his feelings. I am happy you are not taking that approach. My only concern is not to kill the conflict too soon again. I have no idea where Lockheart is planning to take this novel, but MC and LI had advanced way more than I was expecting for a first chapter. Ideas and intention have become explicit and LI is clearly on board with it. So I guess the plot will lead us somewhere else?

Anyway, great first chapter, and obviously awesome job. I hope the best for the novel.

PS: So..Myrabelle=Lockheart? or are you one of Lockheart minions? I mean, I would understand that, I tend to hire cute minions too. But mine end up being totally useless and broke more than they do.

Many people misunderstood who the villain was in Avalon. The villain was not Tyler, Faith, or Gladstone. The antagonist of the story was Trauma. And Penny not only did not defeat Trauma but she was afflicted by it as well after she found Gladstone in his office. Avalon was the perfect protagonist of her story because she was so well equipped to fight trauma as she's an extraordinarily positive person. She just needed a little help from her Uncle. At the end of Avalon, Byron and Avalon have overcome their trauma and live happily ever after.

A Petal Among Thorns is going to have conflict later. The main character has been struggling to find happiness and success. His relationship failed, his new career path failed, and he's finding himself envious of Uncle Chuck's success. We'll see that play out more and more. Petal is trying to find herself. She isn't sure about her place in the world just yet. We'll talk more about that in later Chapters.

Things will move quickly with Petal and MC. That was always the plan. There's a natural bond between them so rapid escalation is a big point of the story. We wanted this vacation to lead into a larger story but we're taking some time to decide exactly what we want from the future right now. That means we're going to work hard on Petal's game while we decide what's best for our us and our fans.

I'm Myrabelle, one of Lockheart's trusted representatives and I'm here to make sure we stay connected to the community and answer any questions the fans of our work may have.

Thank you for taking an interest in A Petal Among Thorns and we hope to have more content out soon.

oh well, I never said anything about antagonist.

I was talking about conflict. If you look at my signature, you will see that conflict for me is important. Thing is, with no conflict, I stop caring about a story.

And, from the point of view of Byron and Avalon (the characters we played), the problem was that Penny killed conflict.

Everytime a potential drama was going to happened, Penny solved it single handed.

Obviously this is all my opinion, but I am simply mentioning why for me Avalon went from a story I would play as soon as possible to something I don't think I have finished even yet (last chapter I read Byron and Avalon were on holidays, but I think there was more content with sister? I dont know)

Anyway, nice to meet you and read about what is coming. I loved the first chapter so I will keep in touched.

It's taboo because the child produced by incest has genetic flaws...reduced IQ to the point of mental retardation, teeth size and extra teeth growing in weird locations, webbed toes and fingers, and really bad mental issues to the point of be a psychopath, and etc.
Sometimes the flaws skip a generation but they show up .

I like playing games like these but please do not try to normalize incest.
Well, strictly genetically speaking, whether incest will produce flaws or not depends on a variety of things. The first generation product of incest actually have a higher chance to inherit dominant traits, which is actually a good thing. Genetic flaws only start to occur and becoming an issue if incest were to keep repeating in later generations. This is actually the science and basis behind animal and plant breeding. The second thing to consider is how closely related the people involved in incestuous behaviors are. Are they directly related, distant cousins that share little to no genetics, or not at all related by blood, only by relations like step-siblings or in-laws. In every case, incest is considered a taboo and immoral, but in most of these cases, is it really harmful genetic-wise?

Now having said that, I still don't condone incestuous behavior in general, but there are always room for case-by-case consideration and exceptions. For example, did you know in Ancient Asia (especially China and Vietnam), a teacher or master is like a second father/mother, so teacher/students relationship are also considered incest? Also, tbf, most people watching and searching incest porn don't actually want to do it irl. It's just a form of escapism in most cases.
