Is this game connected to the main game's story in anyway (like a sidequel, prequel, spinoff,...)? Do I have to play the main game 1st to understand this one?

Its a self contained spin off, set at an as yet indetermined time compared to the main games's storyline. But given that <spoiler alert>, Sophia has sex with two characters, you can guess that is in the future compared to the current AWAM v0.130 timeline.
Could you play it without playing AWAM? Sure, but you won't get as much out of the story or characters. So depends what you want? If you want to fap off to sex scenes then play this fan game and avoid the main game for many years to come.
But if like me you love the main AWAM game, despite it's flaws, then you would get more out of this playing after AWAM.

Just remember that AWAM is intended to be an erotic novel and not porn. After v0.130 Sophia is getting closer to sexual scenes e.g. pussy fingering or hand/blow jobs, but she has nt got there yet. So long as you enjoy a slow burn corruption, then you will love AWAM.
If you want to know "has Sophia fucked anyone other than her husband yet?" (a surorisingly regular question, then AWAM might not be your ideal VN.

However, may I ask, like you said, for the large part of the beginning of the game, sex scenes would only involved her husband (sounds good enough to me), but what about the nude scenes, are there plenty of 'em?

It's important for players to know what they are getting before they start playing, as AWAM is not for those that fast forward until they get to sex scenes.
At the start of the game Sophia is a happily married woman, albeit moving to a new city, where she starts to feel neglected by her husband working long hours (to pay for their new mansion) and also has her younger sister wanting Sophia to loosen up and enjoy herself more. So the corruption starts slowly but accelerates, especially over recent updates.
At the risk of spoilers, in the last two updates Sophia is showering with her daughter whilst daughter masturbates, flashes her boobs and panties to a complete stranger about whom she has a sex dream, touches her first two cocks, and wears a risqué dress as she poses in an art class and gets roughly groped.
So slow start but ramping up over last two updates.
Much appreciated. I'll give this game more thoughts before deciding, but the Fan game is a must lol. :V
I have seen another version of this somewhere where the wife has an encounter with the removal man and his 2 side kicks but can't remember where or what the name of it was. Anyone else familiar with this?
