Total asspull, yes.I cant believe my eyes, why would the story be distorted in such way? it feels like he just wanted to add some twist to the story and asspulled it, wtf
Here's the thing, if Dylan thought she was having a midlife crisis, why not do something like spend more time with her by offering to go shopping with her, bringing her breakfast in bed, you know, the kind of things he was doing, not going up to the local town hoodlum and asking him to make his own mother dress more provocatively.Usually, these are an indicator of a Midlife crisis. - Produce feelings of intense depression, remorse, and high levels of anxiety, or the desire to achieve youthfulness or make drastic changes to their current lifestyle or feel the wish to change past decisions and events. - At what point, did Dylan think Sophia was in a "Midlife Crisis?" What hints were there? I didn't see anything about her being in a midlife crisis from a reader's perspective.
I understand what he was trying to do, but it makes no damn sense at this point in the story. Maybe down the road, we might get more insight. But now I'm having a hard time seeing this playing out realistically.
If this was genuine blackmail from Aiden, I still wouldn't like it but I wouldn't have as much of a problem, but knowing that it's all Dyaln's fault has made it so much worse and completely ruined Dylan's character. He could have just done some nice things for his Mom to try and cheer her up and to give her some words of encouragement if he thought she was feeling down and depressed, but this is such a ludicrous and bullshit way of creating one of the worst parts of this game.
