Recently I read comments about Don Morello, Sofia and Liam, of course, I did not read all 2,500 pages, but I read the last 10, and here are my thoughts on these characters...
Many argued that Sofia was guilty of not preventing further gambling of her husband - here you can debate as long as you like and not find mutual understanding - this is not only a problem of relations between men and women, a problem of the society (its imposition of behavior and responsibilities that spouses perform in relation to their children and each other), mostly it’s a problem of internal conflict ... Someone wrote, - I'm sorry, I don't remember who is it was, - that Liam gladly continued to gamble and nobody forced him to do it, the gun wasn’t at his temple, - that person was absolutely right! Nobody forces anyone to do something that he does not want to do, the situation itself is absurd, when one of the spouses shifts his blame onto the other (why didn't you save me, you know that I have problems with gambling!)... Oh, dear, you shouldn’t invite wife to an evening for two in a casino... Seriously?! And even if you choose the path where you can "force" Liam to go home - is absurd - is it necessary to seduce him by caring his cock, convincing him to go home? He knows about his problem very clear, but anyway he did what he wants... We still do not know what kind of person is Liam at his work, maybe he runs like a bottle-washer, closes holes and does the job that he is given and requested not to ask questions. If it’s like that, so, then the situation will be much more complicated and deeper than that: secrets, unprofessional relationships at work etc.
Liam seemed to me extremely incapable of significant action, in fact, he is a coward, and shit poured out of him, when the couple came back to the casino to Don Morello. What does a husband think about when he decided to debt a house, where his family live, why does he treat them like that? Liam is like a little child who always wants to be an adult, wants his wishes to be fulfilled, and he won’t to responsible for anything... In my opinion, the fault lies only with him.
Now a question for Sophia: what did she find in him? Has she low self-esteem, when she decided to marry a college boy? You live with a man for a long time, you know his habits, tastes, and so on, but in some situation, it turns out that you didn’t know this person at all... It's strange that relationships between Sophia and Liam remain the same as they were: there is no irritation, no anger, no distrust - what the developer said: «It would be like in real life», - it’s very uncertain - PR, unfortunately...
It’s a stupid idea to collect points to see scenes or dialogs… That reminds me Mass Effect or Lily of the valley – you don’t have the points – fuck off, dude! Nicely done… Is it having in a real life? I clearly know that it’s a game, but don’t make promises you can’t keep.
And I don’t get the point why Sofia resolves to cheat on her husband. She wants to find a sense of novelty? She has lack of sex? The desire to be not only a mother, housewife or a teacher, but also a desirable woman? It is necessary to confirm this better way ... This is exactly what will give that very realism. And: "Oh my God, I saw his cock, it is so big, I want to feel it in me" - is this the main reason for her sin, her fall? I guess, the developer did not compare Sofia with Emma Bovary from the novel Madame Bovary, who lived for the moment and had sexual affairs in order to remove the emptiness of provincial life, the meaninglessness of being. Emma lived with emotions, she surrendered to feelings, living one day without looking into the future - and the result of her life is terrible, she took arsenic and died, leaving her husband in debt, don’t care about her daughter, her future, everything what was connected to her. At least Emma was looking for herself, she wanted something inspiring, which her husband was not able to give her, as she thought, but at the end she realized that her whole life was meaningless, cheap and bad drama… Emma was crushed, her lovers, men that she loved one way or another, they wiped their feet on her, used her as a sperm collector, and no one wanted to deal with her problems, take responsibility, teach and guide her, support her, except for her husband... She did not appreciate what she had, but what about Sophia? The husband, of course, is not a gift, as she later learns about it, but she treats their children responsibly enough, brings them up, she fully realized herself as a mother. She’s good housewife, but what about woman in sexual way?
I was a little scared by the developer's commitment to the relationship between teenagers, almost children and an adult woman.... Zac, Sam, Aiden and Dylan in the end. Dylan is another story, I'm not a supporter of incest, I can't stand it in any form...
What did she find in them? At their age, they will experience wet dreams from a woman who, in their opinion, is more or less attractive, but what can a mature, successful woman find in children, without mental deviations, of course? Penis has not yet reached adult size, what will she be satisfied with? This is very sad: she did not achieve sexual satisfaction either from a feeling of fullness, or from skillful experienced fingers… She only amuses her pride that teens are staring at her - a doubtful reason to pride...
Don Morello seemed to me a fatal man, a dangerous predator, a spider that builds a spiderweb and sets traps for unsuspecting victims, and does it shamelessly, openly, while the spouses are in shock - they will agree to all the conditions... We have not known for sure whether Morello cheated for Liam's loss or not, but something tells me that he did it on purpose... In overall, it seems to me that the characters of Don and Larry are not fully worked out, but since the game is still in the early stages of development, then I only say: «we will see». But for me it turned out to be strange that Don takes care of the physical and mental health of his younger brother - between brothers (or sisters, or between brother and sister) there is a rival relationship always, because everyone is jealous and eager to take the palm, to be better, earn more and so on (you can think about a lot of reasons to compete this list)... Does Don really want to break one of the main unspoken laws of the mafia: "never fuck your friend’s / brother’s / colleague's wife"? Here, of course, there will be a choice for the player: will Sophia be the mistress of two related men at the same time: the elder and younger brothers? But then she will become a chip hooker, they will get uninterested for her and they let to fuck her by their people - soldiers and capos – she will be an ordinary whore with no prospects and no future. Or perhaps they will make her a very influential woman in their society - then she will live in constant fear, as they have established her on a pedestal to shine, they can take her off at once. Or she will live in a golden cage, like a bird that is taken out of a cage, when master got boring, and this bird will never find a free flight...
Although I really want a NORMAL relationship with Larry (oh, if he hadn't been arrested for 8 years, 4 of which he had already spend in prison) - although for what was he imprisoned? Murder is unlikely - but I do not know the American criminal code and what the consequence for this or that crime is - as Liam correctly said; but I hope we will find out about this later, as it affects our perception of this character. Larry called Sofia cumare, which means mistress in southern Italian dialects and Italian-American slang (A mistress is a woman who is in a relatively long-term sexual and romantic relationship with a man who is married to a different woman). So, Larry still suggests a long-term relationship (depending on the developer, whether it will be more romantic or sexy). I would like romance as a woman . He says that Sophia's desire is identical to his desire - that is, whatever she wants, they will do for her, but what will be the cost of this agreement? And Sofia will mostly have to pay. The cost of such a contract is too high. Again, everything here depends on the desire and imagination of the developer... It is strange that Larry does not like viragoes women, sluts and hookers, but he offers Sofia to do exactly the kind of services that such women can provide, which is very strange for me.
I don't know if the developer makes references to Grace Kelly on purpose, the actress who became the Princess of Monaco and had an unhappy life, and to Rita Hayworth, who had 5 divorces by the end of her life, and with each she lived about 5 years. It means that she did not find herself, not find a peace and well-being with any of her men that she loved... Either the developer is drawing a future picture of Sophia's relationship with members of the mafia, or he just likes the actress or the times of the 50-60’s.
It seems to me that the culmination of the relationship between Sophia and Liam will depend only on her own attitude to the current situations: either she will end up like Anna Karenina, Emma Bovary, unable to bear shame, a sense of hopelessness and emptiness, she punished herself in a such way. Or she lives with her family and is pregnant with her 3rd child. Either Sofia surrenders to the power of men / teens and they rape her and use her as a sperm collector, they don’t need her as a personal, they need her just like tool to be used - and Sofia is happy with this, but at the same time she loses her family and herself. Perhaps, if the developer accepts at least a romantic relationship with someone, then she leaves her husband, singes documents for divorce, and will live with her lover.
Too many assumptions and what awaits us, only one developer knows
