According to secret Sam fan club this is a major twist that they are expecting. Although unfortunately this would not shown for years to come in game development. This is SAD.

If you're talking about the Daz asset I suspect you are, it wont fit Sam's model. Wont fit Dylan, Ellie or Sophia's model either, since they're a generation behind what's required to use it. It will load fine, but none of the morphs work.

This is Dylan day, so Sophia's part in this update is probably rather small. So it might only be 20 or so images of Sophia getting a haircut, but 180 of Dylan sniffing Marie's hair. Or whatever.

I am a kind of new player too. I played v.0150 and v.0170 in October continuously. In 2~3 weeks later, v.0175 was released. As I read the feeds here I am a lucky as you are. I guess we need to wait 2~3 month for the next update and also may need to wait a couple of year for updating Sam's event.
