The reason Sams' route feels weird is because it is. LP tries to use the same general formula for all the characters. They want Sophia -> They either seduce/force/manipulate her to do stuff -> She either goes along with it, or cuts it off.

That doesn't make sense for Sam's route, since it's meant to be more romantic.

Would make more sense if...

- Sophia, wanting attention and not getting any from her husband, starts to notice Sam being sweet and paying attention to her. To make it more plausible and fit the backstory, Sam has always been that way. For example, in Dylan's room he should've said "You shouldn't talk about your mom like that, she is a beautiful woman!". Sophia could think that is admirable and it puts a divide between Sam (romantic) and Dylan (horndog) motivations with Sophia.

- Instead of Sam being the modern day Casanova, he is trying but still screws up sometimes. Sophia would think its cute that he is trying to make her feel special, even if he embarrassed himself sometimes.

- Sophia, having an inner conflict, wants to be around Sam more. He reminds her of Liam back when they started dating or something like that and wants that feeling back. However, she doesn't want to cheat.

- Eventually, Sam and Sophia would end up in a sexual situation (like the hot tub) but instead of being the Casanova, Sam and Sophia make a move but each feel bad about it. Sophia because she doesn't want to cheat. Sam because he doesn't want to ruin her relationship & potentially his friendship with Dylan.

- From there, they try to resist but gradually give in. They know it's wrong, but it doesn't matter anymore. They want to be together, in secret..for now.


In some ways, Sam's current route is pretty similar to a lot of male MC games. Where the MC is basically the most special, awesome mega dicked stud in town and all the women melt when he looks their way. Sophia isn't as dull as many of the LI's in those games, but her thoughts about how amazing Sam is at everything is pretty similar.

I see so many Dylan fans getting annoyed by Sam.
In my personal experience, a woman of Sophia's age is quite vulnerable and if right things are said at the right time many doors can be opened with her. Sam basically did that, of course he gets free while talking to his friend and when Sophia isn't around as all boys would do but in front of her he has learned to stay in control and slowly get a grip on Sophia and to be Frank out of all the guys present in the game Sam has the most visible chance of getting anywhere with Sophia besides Liam. Dylan is still her son and I don't think she'll be that free with Dylan as she was with Sam in the last update (unless this next update changes this dynamic between Sophia and Dylan).
In terms of realism, she would definitely fuck the neighbours kid before she fucks her own kid, to be put blatantly.

Personally I don' think the Sam route is realistic. It's more realistic than all the incest routes, that's true, but still not very much realistic. It's rare that a milf with quite some life experience would let a horny and immature teenager seduce and fuck her; such cases exist, it's not impossible, but these are rare.
Women usually are looking for emotional support from their potential partner. They also in general prefer men who are tall and do have a physique, which would enable to protect her. Most women won't openly admit it, but still most of them do secretly like athletic male bodies (not bodybuilder like, but fit with strong arms). Least but not last, most women prefer men with a decent job and income, who can provide for the family.
Sam got nothing out of this top 3 to offer. And no, Sam being a horny teenager desperately wanting to fuck a hot milf like Sophie and therefore bombing her with compliments, doesn't count as emotional support. Sophie also cannot trust a teenager not to brag about his conquest later on. A severe scandal not only destroying her reputation in the whole town but also her family on top will be inevitable and she should have more than enough life experience to realize that. Sam has proven to be immature more than once, not caring about consequences as many teenagers do, but Sophie doesn't seem to care for whatever strange reason. For me this whole Sam plot feels very much forced.

Sophie is more likely to start an affair with the postman before she'd let a teenager fuck her, who is the neighbor's kid and a schoolmate of her son.
EDIT: I don't favor the possible postman route, I just took it as an example, that this route is more likely than the Sam one, when we're talking about realism in this porn vn.

Now that we have an off ramp for the Aiden Blackmail (courtesy of Don Morello), there is no reason I can see for the Aiden hate.

If L&P had not given us the boarding school route or the Don solution, then this would be a very different story and Sophia would have just been reduced to a victim who was destined to be passed around as Aiden's party favor.

I think that would have destroyed the premise of AWAM.

I'd like to see less blackmail and more Sophia driven choices now.

We are far enough into AWAM where Sophia needs to start taking a more active role in what she wants.

The scene with Sam was hot, but there was no sexual reciprocation - not even anything half-hearted, like Sophia giving Sam a quick grope through the pants.

Sophia's introspection, that inner dialogue, helps tell us what she finds exciting, but it is still incredibly light on having Sophia strongly considering acting on something because she Likes it.

She could be masturbating while fantasizing about different scenarios, for example:

Sophia finds herself thinking about:

a lesbian encounter with a younger girl (as she gets close to orgasm - she chooses the younger girl ... is it Julia or is it Ellie?)

a hot encounter with a younger guy (as she gets close to orgasm - she chooses the younger guy ... is it Sam or is it Dylan?)

a lesbian encounter with a woman (Claire or Patricia)

a hot encounter with a powerful older man (Don Morello or Liam's boss)

Once L&P starts weaving these fantasies into the story, especially when Sophia starts to take a more active role in her fantasies, then hot, Sophia initiated, encounters with Natalie, Ellie, Sam, Dylan and others become much more accessible as gradual story progression.

I said for a longer time that L&P is afraid to let his baby go

Thank you! That's what I've been saying for a long, long time, I can't get into it because it feels like Sophia is forced into a romantic relationship with her sons best friend that didn't do anything at all to earn her love.

If L&P had done the poll after the evening event, Dylan's poll would skyrocket extremely. That is the pure intention of L&P to do the poll right after Sam's update. Sam is his favorite and the hint from him "Will Dylan stay number one or if someone else takes his place?" says it all. He was hoping for someone else. And now he is trying to figure out how to start the evening event.... he doesn't seem to have a plan.

He's getting so slow within the next 1-2 years that by the time his "plans to increase development speed" are being implemented, he'll be back at the current pace and sell it as a major breakthrough.

On a more serious note... What is going on? This downtime is longer than the time he took off when he was still releasing 1/3rd PD's, not 10% of a PD. He'll soon have more breaks than actual time spend on development. Well, atleast on paper. I'm pretty sure that's already the case anyway. lol

I think this poll result does not affect anything to his storytelling. I think this poll is a kind of dragging time that something he needs to do personally (he cannot work a couple of week so he throw the critical poll to save his time).
