I understand that but when a dev comes here with that arrogant attitude thinking that they are just telling a bunch of pirates "fuck you, I'll do what I want!" they need to realize that there are a lot of us in here that are patrons too, whether we were before joining here to discuss games with like minded people or whether we came here to get games and started supporting the devs of the games we really enjoyed, they need to take note that when you shit on a large audience, you never know who will be watching and how it will affect your future. To be honest about it I was not the only top tier supporter of Slonique on this site and I do know that there were other base supporters too and it would not surprise me in the least if they, like I, ended my financial relationship with a developer that does not seem to care about their patrons.@Kasey sorry about your experience. however, there are some new developers here that are well worth the patreon and they frequently interact with this community whether they are a patron or not.
i tried playing this game a few versions ago and while I did like the modeling the story and gameplay made no sense so I stopped playing all together.
ThanksView attachment 8224

This game was rushed out and is missing a fair amount of content. The developer burned his Patrons, so despite the complete tag it's just a rushed product that the developer got bored of. This makes 3 abandoned projects in my eyes. Your money is better spent elsewhere than this persons Patreon. @Bloo

Lol. I remember your butthurt about Big Brother. Here we go again.I understand that but when a dev comes here with that arrogant attitude thinking that they are just telling a bunch of pirates "fuck you, I'll do what I want!" they need to realize that there are a lot of us in here that are patrons too, whether we were before joining here to discuss games with like minded people or whether we came here to get games and started supporting the devs of the games we really enjoyed, they need to take note that when you shit on a large audience, you never know who will be watching and how it will affect your future. Wow!Lol. I remember your butthurt about Big Brother. Here we go again.
Let me explain something. Patreon is not a shop. Artist is not your slave. Your pledge is a charity, not a contract. When you leave money at church, you don't expect that Jesus will shake your hand, right?
Next time instead of giving $15 to one artist, try to give a dollar to 15 artists. That will ease you pain when some of them start making their games not the way you like.
Very professional, that'll win them right over.Lol. I remember your butthurt about Big Brother.
Easy there, you're definitely not Jesus.Let me explain something. Patreon is not a shop. Artist is not your slave. Your pledge is a charity, not a contract. When you leave money at church, you don't expect that Jesus will shake your hand, right?
That would be cool and all, except the person you're talking to was perfectly fine with letting you make the game you want. The problem was you failed to finish the game you said you wanted to make.Next time instead of giving $15 to one artist, try to give a dollar to 15 artists. That will ease you pain when some of them start making their games not the way you like.
I promised to finish the game. I finished the game.you don't deliver on your promises
But you don't expect either that Jesus try to fuck you in the ass, althought, the priest, he might try ! So in this case, you took charity and fucked your patrons in the ass....so Catholic of you.Your pledge is a charity, not a contract. When you leave money at church, you don't expect that Jesus will shake your hand, right?
While locking it might be the proper response, honestly giving the dev more rope to hang himself with his superiority complex is also quite entertaining. Plus it does provide additional fuel for posting the next time something gets put out by him so people can be warned.thread is being derailed me thinks from the back and forth from dev and unhappy (and possibly former) patreons.
@TCMS @muttdoggy @Bloo maybe consider locking for now?
wow so what you're saying is that the people that saw, in this case @Kasey, potential in your game or liked it enough to GIVE you $15 to HELP you work the things you SAID would be in the game should just "fuck off"? (that is what you portray in your responses)Lol. I remember your butthurt about Big Brother. Here we go again.

oi fuckhead, the patrons ain't your bitches either, they are customers. and you fucking owe it to them to provide what you promised. when you sell someone something saying it will have a such and such and you only provide half you are committing fraud. so whether you like it or not you are a fraud. you can say haters gonna hate all you want but it doesn't change the fact you lied, and broke your promise to all your patrons, and are a fraud.Lol. I beg your pardon?? Wow, alright... I normally do not like to mix in, conversing with people in heated discussion about topics so deliberately obvious like this one. But for once I'd like to give it a go if you do not mind.
You can do all of that with out asking for money. Once money enters the equation you have a responsibility to fulfill your promises. That's why I've started the new game. It has different gameplay without repeating scenes.
You see, nobody is born as game designer. There are no online courses "how to create a good porn game". And people, who know that (like author of DMD) will never share this knowledge. The only way is to try and fail and try again. That's why I keep creating games.
