Well... I didn't read any of the reviews so the tone did hit me like an uppercut. Like, fuck, this gets dark. And I have to agree with some others in here that have said this is not a masturbation game. Too emotional for that. The writing was pretty good. For me, I did some of the side romances in the first two episodes but stopped after that to stay faithful to Megan, and I really liked that Melissa and Megan just talked it out like reasonable adults. Refreshingly non-melodramatic. And scenes were generally pretty breezy; no overlong prose like a lot of VNs. Author knew how to get the point across.
It's kind of a little bit like an adult version of Life is Strange (wouldn't surprise me if it was a direct inspiration - given the photo-obsessed villain, and Melissa is quite a lot like Chloe), with the tone and the hard choices. Decided to buy it on Steam after getting to the end. Definitely deserves the money. Don't know if I'll be able to replay it any time soon, though. It honestly would feel kind of weird to pursue a different love interest, which I guess is testament to how well Dr. Pinkcake was able to endear his characters to me.
