Good story, well-written, solid visuals, good presentation. However, it feels out of place on this site, frankly. It's almost not a sexual game at all, and given the emotional intensity of some parts of it, I have no inclination at all to play through any of the other relationship paths.
There are few games here with this solid drama and psychological approach, but Acting Lessons is by no means the only one and they are usually very well received (and deservedly so) and among the top scoring. I wouldn't say they are out of places here so much.

This game is full of emotions. seriously you made guy in mid 30 paused the game and search the way to find a better outcome.

In my playthrough
Megan : I treat Megan as someone I took in as daughter and raise her as good as I can (and try my best to avoid any scripted sex scene or skip it as fast as I can, it felt not right for me)
Messila : as someone who grown up in broken family I got attached to her immediately and try my best to help her and yes I did choose her as main.
Liam : he deserves better, I choose him over anyone else when he asked for me. he helped me, I helped him. best friend you can have in life.

Ok, so when that scene came. I broken apart to choose either somene who I treat as my daughter (Megan) or the one I can related to and I choose as main girl (Messila).... yeah took me awhile for that. I chose Megan at first and then I went again for Messila.

DPC, you done a great job. Im not angry with this but I didnt expected something like this, so it is not a good surprise for me. still a great characters you had built.

Well... I didn't read any of the reviews so the tone did hit me like an uppercut. Like, fuck, this gets dark. And I have to agree with some others in here that have said this is not a masturbation game. Too emotional for that. The writing was pretty good. For me, I did some of the side romances in the first two episodes but stopped after that to stay faithful to Megan, and I really liked that Melissa and Megan just talked it out like reasonable adults. Refreshingly non-melodramatic. And scenes were generally pretty breezy; no overlong prose like a lot of VNs. Author knew how to get the point across.

It's kind of a little bit like an adult version of Life is Strange (wouldn't surprise me if it was a direct inspiration - given the photo-obsessed villain, and Melissa is quite a lot like Chloe), with the tone and the hard choices. Decided to buy it on Steam after getting to the end. Definitely deserves the money. Don't know if I'll be able to replay it any time soon, though. It honestly would feel kind of weird to pursue a different love interest, which I guess is testament to how well Dr. Pinkcake was able to endear his characters to me.

I'm very confused with the ending of this game. Megan leaves me because I cheated on her... but I didn't? The worst thing I did was kiss Rena, and I turned down everybody else. WTF?

Edit: Oh, I guess I did cheat with Ana for her career, if that's what it was referring to. It didn't sound like it though, as that seems as though it would be a bigger conversation.

You cheated on Megan with Ana. That is enough to lose Megan.

That's interesting, you would think that would have been a bigger discussion. She did not even know who Ana was, that she was the casting agent, or why you did it. I don't know the details, but it felt as though the last chapter was very rushed. There was definitely a lot more that could have been done with that story, like a resolution for all of the characters, for instance.

I did not get that impression during my time playing the game. And if you decide to cheat on her, even if you feel that it can help her career, it is still cheating. Come on, people! It is common sense.
Indeed, you can have sex with Melissa and Angela/Hedwig and Megan is completely fine with it, since it's before becoming an official couple. But once you are properly dating... well, then you're cheating if you do anything with anyone else. That's what cheating is.

It's different. It was blackmail, it was pretty much rape, the game doesn't even address it.
It's a very stupid decision to take, though, and it would be understandable that Megan would consider it cheating. The MC makes this decision without consulting her and I find it unlikely Megan would want you to take that deal, if she was asked. There's not even any reason to believe Ana would keep her end of the bargain. It's in fact much more likely that she would use you having sex with her to break you and Megan up, given her motives.

Like, it is rape, since there's coercion involved. But the coercion is so weak, that there's no reason to go through with it unless you want to. Which is probably the conclusion Megan comes to, should you choose that option.

Those are definitely options I wish the game gave us. But what makes you say it's weak?

As I said, there's no reason to trust Ana will follow through, and every reason to believe she wouldn't. She wants you to be with her, so either she'd extend the blackmail to "stay with me or I'll end Megan's career" or she'd tell Megan you cheated on her. The former would be far more effective blackmail, actually, since then Ana does have motive to leave Megan's career alone - keeping you around.

The only thing you get out of sleeping with Ana is... sleeping with Ana, if that's what you want. There's no reasonable expectation that you'd get anything else out of it.
