Yes it is html but it has a lot of images and animations. Generally it is compressed as the aninations are webm files

As I said there is no compressed version over what is posted in the first post

I just checked as well and the full download works fine as does the 3.1 update attached

Download the attachment and copy into your game folder, the root where the existing html file is. Unzip it and overwrite, or overwrite depending which you use. Done!

Cheating without the mod though is extremely easy in the game for resources and there is little point in anything else. Hit F12 and type
SugarCube.State.variables.Wood = 9999
etc
when typing it will autocomplete and most variables are quite obviously named

The attachment is the update from version 3.0 to 3.1, so to play
- download the main version in the first post, unzip into a folder, this is playable as is, but has some bugs
- download the attachment of the first post and unzip and copy the html file into the above folder
- play the game

Just to be sure, there is NO compressed version the game is as is posted there in the first post
