Actually she does. Not only she pays for MC's expenses, but she also gives him the opportunity to live a better life, so he's kinda forced to believe her. It's clearly stated in the game that she was selfish, she chose her career and didn't want to raise her (MC's mom) son... she also mentioned that MANY have abandoned him, which also includes his mom and dad. If the Mom really is Anne's sister, and she's the reason why Anne's ex-husband abandoned her and Summer, just think about how one of you bois would react if your brother would run away with your wife and let you take care of his kid.

I know ppl are upset about some aspects of the story, I also have my share of complaints to make, but we have to wait for a couple more updates to see how events unfold and hear Anne's side of the story and, if she still lives, MC's mom's version too.

As of yet, there's not enough information to say who's a cunt and who's not, we don't even know if Anne tried to find the MC after she put him in foster care, so it's premature to point fingers already. We can keep making speculations that further updates may prove to be ridiculous... take the Intertwined thread for example where the trolls can't comprehend that Erryn isn't a bitch, cunt, or an escort, but they keep shitposting when they could simply avoid the character if they don't like it or think she's not "pure" enough for their pee-pees. Be rational and don't follow their example.

also, she admits that "throwing money at the problem" is not enough compare to what he went through as well in the scene where she talk to Summer.

But again, painting her as the "monster" is just taking the easy way out. While in fact there are a lot more happening around this issue.

And I can't agree more, she is not his mother. Why did it fall to her to take care of another child? again, more questions. And if hi mother is alive, where is she? why does the "caretaker" needs to suddenly find him? and not his mother. At least she did came back and gave him an opportunity to change his life, but his mother/father? do they give a shit at all?

PS. the whole scene could be analyzed for what said is true and what's not. After all, she doesn't want Summer to know that the mc is her babysitter and said she'll make something up after talking to the mc.

I assume it's the "I focused on my career" but it could be something else as well.

As a game dev, to see you guys talking about possible what if or what not's is actually a compliment. The character and story is for you all to love, hate and enjoy or not enjoy.

Truthfully I can't wait to unveil more to you all... IT's going to be a shock.

So much of what I've seen is complaints about the characters, the plot, the way the MC behaves. I suppose if we follow the "all publicity is good publicity" rule then I could see that. Personally I am curious about the game but also really disappointed by the fact that the MC/Player doesn't really make many choices that will influence the story.

The fact that there will only be two choices for girlfriend, both of which were characters in the previous game, that the MC acquiesces to everything without allowing the player to give input, etc. On the flip side of that I do want to know what is so "special" about the MC, whether Mr Knobb will continue to give the player more and more choice, how the "harem" will form, and whether the player can choose not to have everyone in the harem (can choose who the MC fucks). Mostly I've been lurking the thread at this point, waiting to see what happens next.

I hope there is a choice to pursue Samara at some point. In her profile it says she has a secret crush on someone and may be free from the greasy cook's clutches one day. Gotta agree, the proper love interests are the least interesting of the cast. So far the main thing thats keeping the game together for me is solely the renders. Hopefully the girlfriends are expanded to include more.

Yeah I actually forgot about that part myself...that's the problem with playing games in installments...unless you keep replaying from the beginning when new updates come out, it's easy to forget things that came before...

She is not his daughter... Andi is his niece, though he loves her, as if she was his real daughter. Dunno if that changes your view. Just wanted to point that out.

Also, sorry, but I have to ask. What fact exactly could the MC learn later that would make him want to break up with them?

The Jensen scene was on the Vicky route and I showed them from MC's point of view. So if you played Vicky route in RTP and you could pan the camera then you wouldve seen MC from AE game. Is all.

Secondly in the time frame the two games exist Jensen had sex with Tania only once and that was almost 1 year ago. Tania's had sex with her looser boyfriend too. Andi has also had sex with some loosers. Pretty much all the women in most VN's have had sex, they are not all virgins.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think any of those games have their intended main love interests be side characters from previous games.

It's fine that the women are sexually experienced, virgins are mostly boring, but there's a difference between that and women the player may have already met, formed some connection with, and had sex scenes with as another character.

(Other than that, I just don't think those two characters are very interesting yet, as they haven't been fleshed out much. Practically all you know about them from this game is that they're two college-aged white girls the MC runs into in a corridor where they exchange a handful of lines of dialogue, and then he goes on a date with one of them who talks about how much she likes this guy Jensen.)

I do not think that for the majority of people voicing their objection the problem is with Tania being a virgin or not, it is more that those who played RtP have a meta knowledge of it first hand and a meta memory of actually seeing the act itself. It's like if IRL you've seen a sextape of a girl with your favorite uncle, that girl would probably be less desirable to you as a result.

It's why Bastila only appears in KotOR2 as a holocron message, or why Morrigan appears only as a NON-love interest in DA3, even though she and the Warden broke up in DA:O. It's just kind of awkward otherwise.

PS. It also doesn't help that Tania's bio says that she is secretly in love with someone unattainable. This just reinforces the feeling that this game's MC would only be "her second choice" and not the one she really wants to be with.

I have zero concern about Tania’s sexual activity and a lot of concern about how the MAIN character in this game seems to be a side character in Jensen’s saga. I don’t want to play a character who a love interest “settles for” which is how the entire thing with Tania is set up.

So for me it would be like watching "batman beyond", I can see batman right over there. But at the same time it's a different character which I'll get to know, while many people who watched the older show and characters including the main character would say how awesome the "old batman" was.

Or maybe like watching avater the last air bender and the legend of Korra, you can't escape the last character legacy but you still can enjoy the new show without knowing all the old references. If anything, you'll see nods here and there but the main character would still go through their own journey of discovering their powers.

Maybe eventually, sure. Right now no. The MC doesn't assert himself currently. Terry was aggressive from the beginning about who was Batman. It's too early to determine how the MC will act later in the story, however it isn't too early to say that the MC having either Tania or Andrea as the only girlfriend choices, with their histories and prominence in Jensen's story, is disappointing.
