I agree. I could have worded the pol better. I have played a few of the games in the popular games section (Big Brother, DMD, Man of the House, SoB, Summertime Saga) and all of them are incest and I just don't get why this topic became so popular. I have mixed feelings about this topic. I'd never consider having a sexual relationship with my family. It disgusts me. But seeing other people doing something tabu is kinda hot. The hottest thing would be me having a threesome with two twin girls.
I started this topic because I'm thinking about what game to create. I probably won't include incest in my game but I wanted to see what you guys think about this.

@namelesswc if you like incest content, it doesnt mean you like incest in general. It's still fiction and everyone who likes incest game knows that this isn reality. look at my previous post. that what is hot in this games are is that it is forbidden. a game can have the greatest content but if there is nothing interesting in the story like something forbidden then it isnt really appealing to the most of people.

Of course I am tired of them. Thankfully our market is overflooded already so it's not selling well anymore. Mixing that with Patreon rules we can easily expect some decent non-incest games in a future giving us some fresh air. I have nothing against any specific fetish (except for me not liking it) as that's just unreasonable, but the way Patreon works makes people copy these first succesful creators. As first devs were into renpy, rpgm and daz models we have now over 90% games made like that. It certainly doesn't help that they copied also an incest setting due to how easy it is. Now we're at the point where vast majority of games is the same incest type and most of them can't gather significant funds anymore so we can only expect more dumped projects. In my opinion such popularity of any fetish is just harmful for the market. On personal note I don't like incest as it kills my immersion. I always immerse myself with setting and in incest games it's confusing as it's always trying to be realistic yet it goes for such extremally unrealistic behaviours. I can respect quality of renders in DoD but for me plotline in which boy with superpowers who can fuck anyone so he goes for his family is not even a porn fantasy as it's unrealistic within its own setting. It's like a vanilla without any sensible plotline thats meant to trigger most primal, tabbo sensations but unlike rape it makes no sense in almost every single game. Sometimes I have a feeling that incest fans would be able to play a game without any text as long as there is this son/mother-father/daughter labels and decent renders. Sadlly for a couple few years most of our western games were incest so it's something I have to deal with. Probably next years will be much better in that sense.

Same here. Besides 2 relatively new games you mentioned, I like Twists of my life by Novel which has no incest and Freeloading family with potential incest. Both games have great story with lots of characters and content early on and some of the best looking girls. Twists of my life has little bit better story and more content but Freeloading family, in my opinion, has the hottest and the most beautiful female character I have seen so far (being very subjective here).

You could probably have Mr Dots and Dark Silver on the list as well. Dating my Daughter and Big Brother were 2 of the most popular games with tons of Patrons before Patreon killed them (well technically DMD is still alive elswhere).

I was talking about new devs. All devs that reached more than 10k$ is from another generation. I might be wrong but It's been a while since I've since a new dev who could reach even 2k with pure incest. It's a normal trend on any market - if there is too many of something people won't buy it anymore and it clearly works on Patreon. Except for old devs with well known brands, devs can't reach much with this theme anymore. It's quite interesting how we can check devs age thru this top list. At the top is only first generation that started as soon as Patreon became a thing and they attracted all this mess. More than 10k$ reached only second generation that was a first couple of teams that started to copy previous devs with enough quality. Now incest devs struggle to reach 2k$ and most can't even reach 1k$ even tho some games have quite a quality. Normal overflooded market behaviour.

Patreon as a whole is overflown with new creators. Everyone is struggling with this, not just incest game developers.

I really don't think hipster mentality is a factor when it comes to things that get your dick hard.
Judging from this thread, there are basically 3 types of responses to incest games. Some love em, some hate em and the vast majority don't give much of a shit either way but get tired of seeing the same scenario with the same stereotypical characters over and over again.

This thread is but a tiny little spec of a fraction of the player base so I'd rather trust the numbers from both Patreon and the forum telling me what I already knew.

Ofc incest is popular. I wouldn't really support this idea with data from mostly incest forum but it's undeniably the most popular fetish on the west. I can also agree that its popularity makes it annoying for those who are not into it. But it's clearly affected by its own popularity. I have a feeling you're taking it as an attack on it but it's just a matter of normal market mechanics. It's been proven countless of times in every existing market that once popularity of something reached its peak, market will counter it with similiar drop of potential buyers. Ofc Patreon has its own issues but even on a screen you placed here we can see a new non-incest dev while there is probably not even 1 new incest dev there in top 50. And non-incest games are probably under 20% of all games on Patreon which makes it even more clear. There is only 1 real, huge market with erotic games (Japanese) and no fetish is nearly as dominant as incest on Patreon so that's rather delusion if someone really thinks that incest or any other fetish is popular enough to remain at 90% of all new games. Incest together with rape wouldn't make this number and sooner or later market has to find its balance

I put judging from this thread right there at the beginning of the first sentence to make it absolutely clear that I'm not an authority on what does or doesn't sell. The title didn't say "Is Patreon tired of incest porn/games?" either, so yeah, my point stands.

It's not per se that i'm tired of Incest games.
It's more that i'm tired of almost all the incest games are in some aspect the same.
-Either it has the same story as others.(my father left/died, this is my mom/sister she is hot i wish i could touch her
-Or it has the same characters.(How many of the same Male chars have we right now, and even the female ones are started to being copied )
-Or even worse, it's just a lazy game created for being a Money cow.
12 months ago i would have been playing the newest release of a game a.s.a.p when i was home.
Games still had a little bit of originality, and were at the peak of the populairity.
But right now i haven't played a 18+ game in the month May(Okay, it's difficult to play games without internet in my new house but still).
At this point the market is just flooded with bad games and bad copies, quantity over quality..
And that should the the other way around....
But right now it's like you have to plough through 5 bad games before playing 1 good one, and playing al those bad games really ruins it for me at this point.

My point was that it makes no sense to base your judgement on this thread when it doesn't represent the player base as a whole. You were absolutely clear about your authority or lack thereof, as far as I can tell. It's not like I'm an expert either, buddy.
Why would I take it as an attack? I'm not particularly rooting for Incest to remain at the top but, as of today, there is absolutely no real indication that it's not. Why would I speculate on market flow when market numbers are telling me it's at the top? I didn't make any predictions and I have no intention to start.
Are people getting tired of bad generic trend following games? Definitely. Does that trend happen to contain Incest? Sure. Does it mean people are actually getting tired of Incest? I highly doubt it.

Well, you countered my thesis that incest doesn't sell anymore so I probably misjudged you. Incest is still at the top (but even there many devs has droped their places on a toplist due to the new rules) but everywhere else it's definitely doing pretty terrible. So my point still stands - incest doesn't sell well anymore if you're a new dev. Combining it with patreon's actions it's clear that market will switch. It's not even a prediction anymore as whole data supports it

Deny it all you want, you're making a prediction based on your idea that new creators struggling on Patreon is, somehow, a localized phenomenon. Until you manage to prove that, your speculations are entirely baseless.
