Hey!

The valentine wallpapers I told you about a few days back are ready

These will be introduced to the game in 0.2.2a, and include an animated collage (slideshow actually) of this date. All 5 wallpapers are climatic, and in my humble opinion - cinematic. These will be available for all Mortal+ tier Patrons during this period - old and new ones.

The one above is the 2nd of the set.

Anyway to progress without fighting? I lose every battle. I never even come close to winning. Do I have to fight?
In some Events it's unavoidable.
it's important to pick your fights and Upgrade your deck. try training at home until you maxed out the 6 stats.
try useing the workbenches in the forge to craft cards like "take cover".
try searching for easy enemies in order to upgrade your deck if you lack resources and don't be afraid to discard weaker cards

People gave me this same advice for gwent in a game called witcher 3. Totally unrelated to these type of games but I still was unable to beat it even when the qwent difficulty was at the lowest. I'm not good at strategy based combat.

base rule in this game... use atleast 1 defence card each turn and try to defeat the enemy quickly... once you are faceing stronger enemies switch to defending more and useing cards like poison, bleeding and wekening the enemy (or in other words switch to play the long game), if you are low on health make sure to heal and defend... always keep a lookout for stronger cards and drop the weaker ones... the less cards you have the more likely it is for you to draw the desired card.
For example the base attacking card is weaker than "slashing" which is weaker than the gun shot for example... same for defence.

Most strong enemies I encountered were dead long before this or powerfull enough to kill me before I had a chance to build up those stats though

Hmm, sorry was just comparing the two errors.

Last time this happened, I installed the higher res version and was able to continue the game. This time I guess not.

Opened up a save that was just a couple hours old and so far it seems to work, so I guess I didn't lose too much.

oh well.............

Just avoid crafting cards for 1 time only use to avoid this error

Indeed, that's why poison and bleeding are useless, cause unlike Streght, they deal RIDICOULUS damage if don't prepare them for 12 turns at least.

As for strenght, keep powering up for 5-6 turns and you have enought power to obliterate everything.
Defense cards are just useless. The only one I use is the one that gives 14 block and 1 armor at 2 action cost.
Take Cover is bad ... dodge is just too probabilistic to be reliable.
Much better some Stun, so that you can keep 1 opponent from attacking (usually they do more than 10 damage) so 1 Stun > 10 Block.

Believe it or not, this strategy WORKS great against everyone except Dragons, which are just too strong !
To be able to kill a Dragon, player should have 200 HPs for the actual existing cards.

this strategy will fail you against more than 2 enemies though.

really ? -2 HP each turn ... wow, it would take only 14 turns to kill the weakest bandit !
Seriously, with +2 Strenght you deal +2 damage with EACH ATTACK (using swipes are 8 attacks per turn -> +16 damage).

And there is Sharpening which gives +2 Strenght at cost 1.
Empower + Strenght is the way to deal top tier damage.

The only enemy you won't be able to kill is the Dragon, cause that beast is just too strong and has too much HPs.
And honestly I can't figure out a way to kill it.

With Block you can get ? How much ? 30 block per turn using 4 actions ?
Dragons deal at least 40 damage per turn with that f**kin Burning and its high damage attacks.

So even using all actions to Block, you still haven't enough block to stay safe from damage. And if you use all 4 actions to block, you can't win.

Had errors again and couldn't play. So.. deleted persistent saves, followed some of the other troubleshooting tips, then disabled Alice's task and ignored her for awhile.

At least I'm able to play again.

I've also noticed, the more I think I know about how to 'fight' in this game and tweak my cards, the worse I do. LOL
Took forever just to help some girl ? 4 large spiders ? going after her....

I'll look again, but building up strength/empower during a battle, my shooting maxes out at 17
so not very high....
