Even if he didn't there really isn't he can do due to them both being completely different now... his new version of the game has a completely different layout than what he had before... where as FuzzyBunny is using the older version's images for most things and giving it a better rewrite. which is something that if you've played from years past version you'd actually find it to be more understanding and me personally nostalgic due to not loosing it's original charm. So I find FuzzyBunny's rewrite a little bit better than Aval0n is doing with his.
It's not like avalonx's new version will ever be finished either. This port and its possible updates are the closest thing to a completed game we will ever get.
This game has a lot of drama associated with it unfortunately on just about every level. The posts above me pretty much cover it but I'll hit the high points:
- Avalon apparently is making a rebuild of the game
- Other than some of the images he's posted and some obscure posts we'd never have known because there is no alpha or beta release so far and may never be
- Avalon for better or worse does not want a lot of people helping him and his new writer Lost is very standoffish. Neither were happy that Proto ported the game but there has been no comment on Fuzzy's mod so far
- What we do know of the new build of the game Avalon's team is working on is significantly different from the original. At that point I consider the old version abandoned
Do you chat with him? He has a discord, but I've been hesitant to join. I think part of it is him maturing and getting a real job that apparently pays well and part is just fatigue from being pestered by fans and detractors. Also, he can be kind of a dick to people on his weekly streams

I appreciate everyone being level headed about my question. I was not aware of any sort of "drama" if that's even the right word it. I'll just keep my eye out on this version for now. I did play a version of BSC awhile ago but not sure which one... I enjoyed that format though and if that's what this is striving to be more like than I shall stick here.

No, I've never spoken with him "live" but I used to post comments/encouragement/criticisms for him like I do here back when he was doing the original development. I think his career success has been a net positive but he also had to move away from his family a lot of years ago and I think Avian his programmer and others (including the good fans) that were a positive influence on him got busy and drifted away. Meanwhile there is a virtual sea of people that stalk him for various reasons and the pressure for him to present a public image that strikes a strong contrast against the content of his game has to be a constant challenge for him.
I would guess there are many times he considers just walking away from all of it. The saner part of him has to be thinking that...but the saner part of him did not make this game so who knows, the new version may come out at some point and it may be yet another pearl. I wouldn't suggest holding one's breath though.
Oh, there is more drama than you could possibly believe. The fact that there is any drama left after this many years is more than a little surprising, especially considering Fuzzy's mod may be one of the only actual mods/attempts to continue the work so far that has gotten anywhere. The fact that nobody picked the project up for so long and pestered Avalon instead is should have been an indication that either the interest wasn't there or that no one felt anyone other than Avalon could do it(Maybe because of the Art?), but instead there seems to be an intangible "something" people seem to be chasing about the game but can't find. True lightning in the bottle stuff...

I feel that the art absolutely played a part in it back in the day. A lot of the other big games of the time were entirely text based or maybe had repurposed hentai pics at best, and hardly any furry stuff. This you had the artist making pictures for each non trivial scene (at least that was the intent there...). This was all before stuff like patreon which caused the game scene to explode, even for more niche tastes. Then the age of the game. This thing is literally a game from a lot of peoples relative childhoods at this point lol. The first release was like a decade ago or something at this point. I feel like that stuff working together, on top of the base good idea, has had people waiting on their nostalgic creator to do something that he says he's doing. And I don't really mean that as a criticism of him, more just an observation of whats going on surrounding everything.
As for Avalon I feel like he doesn't actually want to work on it any more (easy to argue that he isn't), but that he's kind of stuck with it. His entire online/art/game presence is built around this game, so if he were to drop it he'd loose a lot of people following him and paying into his art subs. Even if he has a high paying job I'm sure his finances would be hurt if he lost that sweet overly specific type of furry porn money (For comparison I offer up hyper Falco art). But yeah, I seriously doubt he wants to deal with the game any more given all the drama it attracts for him, but he also can't let it go as it's his backbone for keeping needed attention. I don't fault him either way and just kind of feel bad for him as you can see how unhappy he is interacting with the community.
I think you put your finger on it. I don't think it's money(though he has mentioned it helps) so much as if he truly abandoned BSC he wouldn't have anything drawing people to him. That's a terrifying place to be in after tasting that sort of heady place, especially since all he has to say is that he is working on it and the magic starts all over again. That would totally explain why he's in such a bad place- everything else he's done since BSC doesn't compete with that high and all his attempts to move to something different haven't taken hold in the same way.
From that perspective we may well see a new build from him at some point, but it will be tainted in some way. It won't be something he creates for the joy of it, but because he feels like he has to.
Lots of his current followers are there for his Sally Acorn incest pictures and his little Amy sets. He is still creating BSC art during his weekly streams, but that is less than a third of his output during the streams. During the last stream he was bemoaning how fickle his followers were with what they wanted and that it was a three way split between little Amy, Sally and BSC. I get the feeling that the hold up in BSC is on the writing and programming side.

Status Update:
Living room panties menu and ~2/3 of the naked menu are done with rewrite. This is one of the biggest files, so getting this one completed is a big milestone and a major thorn out of my side.
I have not been on the Discord channel in a LONG time, but will be getting my access fixed for that shortly, hang in there guys! Once on, I'll get with the team and see about the Vanilla's bedroom updates that Novilon has mentioned.
Don't bother asking for dates on the next update, no idea yet, still getting back into the groove with developing this again!

Yes but not quickly. Still mostly text, that's a huge effort by itself, and sometimes changes, making artwork not fit anymore.
