I think I found what the problem was. The hint you refer appears after beach event, but the quest itself for some reason was available after opening the job (in hallway with Hina). It was passed and the previous hint was overwritten.
You must have access to a computer in MC's room. It activates the subsequent quest.

Quick save will work again after 0.8 update, which will be released in a few hours.

If I'm not mistaken, a fix for this will also be included in the 0.8 update. But what I wrote to people above should help you as well.
