We should rename the thread to "How old is your computer, and which windows was the worst" :ROFLMAO:

Regarding old computers: shift + G opens the performance screen, there you can change the render mode which often helps.
sorry Rec ... i was gonna mention how we should just stick with the game for posts ... but i'm old and forgot :(

Hey robwood. If you can run Win7 64 bit, you should be able to run any Renpy game, including Bad Memories. Some other players with old computers, and laptops, were able to change the shader mode from Automatic to Force ANGLE2 renderer (see below), and they could then play it.
How am I to do that when Shift + G moves the cursor to the "game" folder? Also, for those wondering, Shift + Left Click doesn't do anything. Am I supposed to be hitting these keys after running the program, when I get the white window, instead of before?

Try holding down the Shift Key when starting the game, that will also let you change the Render properties. Change to Angle at the upper left, then 'quit' and start the game normally.
This works under Windows - I do not know if it works for the other OS's. Good Luck! (y)

Yes. At the white window, or wait awhile after the white window and then press Shift + G.

I should have explained it better. Start the game, wait 30 seconds or so for it to try and load, and then hit SHIFT + G. If it doesn't do anything, wait another 30 seconds or so and then press Shift + G again. You have to wait for the game to fully start up, which you might not see if your PC can't render the images.

Once you press Shift + G, It should pop up a menu screen (see below). Then click Force ANGLE2 Renderer, which takes fewer resources. I would leave everything else at default, then click Quit.

When you restart the game, it will use the Angle2 renderer, and hopefully work for you. Other users with old PCs have reported it helped. If that doesn't work, you can also Press Shift + G again, and this time keep it at ANGLE2 and also change the framerate to 30 for even fewer resources, click Quit, and open the game again.

Hope it helps!

nawww his whole problem ,,, is the same one i had ..... windows xp .. older system .... 99.9% of the game are running 64bit ... programs the same ... he'll slowly be able to play less and less games ... happened to me upto last year ... i had an older pc as well 2004 model ... lucky for me my youngest son bought me a newer one from walmart that has windows 10 on it ... ( takes a bow ) thank you thank you
Yeah windows 10 and 11 are starting to catch up finally... Apple and Linux was running on G5s a 64bit platform in 2003 and when Apple switched to Intel I bought a tower then traded up a year or so later I think 2009...but both 64bit with 64GB RAM I played Sims 4 and when windows finally released a 64 bit version years later they were shocked to find out Mac users had the 64 bit version ever since Sims 4 was released. I do have a screaming Windows PC now with Windows 11 Pro, a 16 Core CPU and 128 GB RAM with a RTX 2080 TI GPU. iPhones have been 64bit since they first came out, there's no excuse for running 32 bit if you play games.

This one depends on several conditions that are not all related to Ellie herself ;)
I'm not sure I even realized there was a gallery!

Geez, I'm apparently missing 3 scenes and 17 images. I didn't realized I'd missed that much content... I knew I'd be missing stuff from not going after the realtor or the coworker or the porn girls, but 17 images is a lot more than I'd have suspected.
